Yellowbrick Overview

What is Yellowbrick?

Yellowbrick is a high-performance, cloud-native data platform designed for hybrid multi-cloud and on-premises environments. It supports a wide variety of workloads, including traditional data warehousing, real-time streaming analytics, application analytics, and AI/ML workloads. Yellowbrick's architecture leverages the power of Kubernetes to deliver scalability, elasticity, and operational simplicity through SQL or a web interface, abstracting any user Kubernetes management. It provides unmatched speed and efficiency in SQL analytics, powered by the Direct Data Accelerator® and supports simultaneous querying and data loading with no impact on performance.

Product Description

Yellowbrick Data Warehouse is a modern, MPP analytic database designed for the most demanding batch, real-time, interactive, and mixed workloads. We continuously implement the latest advances in software (e.g., Kubernetes) and hardware (e.g., NVMe) protocols, combine these advances with smart thinking about database architecture, and add on top a standards-based interface that’s familiar to users (PostgreSQL) for ecosystem compatibility. The result is a modern, quickly provisioned, and easy-to-use solution that blows the doors off rivals in price/performance economics, and that can be deployed anywhere across distributed clouds (private, public, and edge networks).

How do you position yourself against your competitors?

Legacy data warehouse platforms are built on decades-old architectures that can't keep up with modern workloads, data lake query engines are slow and hard to maintain, and conventional cloud data warehouses combine plain-vanilla performance with unpredictable consumption-based fees (and thus have no incentive to improve performance).

Instead, Yellowbrick offers a modern, MPP data warehouse designed from the ground up to take advantage of the latest innovations in software and hardware—delivering 100X performance on real-time and at-rest data for thousands of users, at a fraction of the cost of alternatives. That makes Yellowbrick Data Warehouse your best choice for any data warehouse modernization, BI acceleration, or data lake augmentation project.

It has proven itself to be an enterprise-class analytics platform with rich workload management and security features capable of supporting hundreds of users across data science, business intelligence, data engineering, and AI.

What do you like best about Yellowbrick?

The Yellowbrick support team was outstanding in providing support and the solutions my team needed to meet my team's objectives. My team and I had the requirement to load high-volume data into a Yellowbrick database in a performant way, and when it turned out that the initial solution suggested by the Yellowbrick team ran into performance and out-of-memory issues, rather than putting the onus of finding the fix or an alternative approach on my team, the Yellowbrick team "owned" the issue and went so far as to provide fairly complex custom code (and multiple version of it to resolve additional issues that were encountered) to help us achieve what we needed to do. Also, on other unrelated questions and issues my team had, the Yellowbrick team was always very responsive providing prompt feedback, and I never felt that I needed to make an effort to draw out information or responses from them. This shows great commitment to customer service and to making sure that our company's engagement with Yellowbrick is a success. Thanks to all the members of the Yellowbrick support team!
