I think Xubuntu is the faster and smoothest ubuntu/linux distro so far.
I used Linux for a number of years and I tried different ubuntu version but Xubuntu is the easiest and smoothest so far. From simple theme, background, UI customization and easy to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
In using Xubuntu or any other Linux disto, the downside is some other applications are not compatible. Also, if you are not a techie person you will be having some issue installing some applications unlike using the normal Windows OS but if you get used to Xubuntu you will not go back to your normal windowsOS. It's easy to use for someone who hasn't had much experience using Linux, it's especially easy for people with experience using Windows XP. And of course it comes with all of the most commonly used apps pre-installed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Personally I liked the side bar that was available on the Unity desktop enviourment, but that's the only thing that's missing. Otherwise it satisfies all of the requirements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Xubuntu has an excellent community behind it, with lots of online help. It is easy to install and set up, and if/when you run into issues, troubleshooting and fixing them is straightforward due to the number of online resources in the community. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
With so many linux distros available it can be tough to take the time to evaluate them all or a subset. I think in comparison, xubuntu is pretty good although I have not done a rigorous comparision. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Xubuntu has very simple yet impressive UI. It is really fast OS for development purposes, where I personally use the OS for all my web development work especially using React app and starting up a react project is very much fast here. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Installing or downloading third party softwares or applications can be a bit hectic sometimes as not all the required softwares are available in their app store and sometimes we need to use terminal command to install softwares. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It is conventional, fast and not overly fancy and still looks elegant and user friendly. I like the user interface. It is not trying to overdo anything compared to other alternatives like Gnome. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like it very much, hard to say anything specific. But they could improve the stability of the operating system. It is far more stable than Gnome or KDE but I remember running into total freezes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
