The IT department is very customer oriented and delivers amazing desktop solutions for each of our employees while being able to maintain control through the cloud based program that VDI offers. It makes things much easier for IT because it is easier to manage and more economical which enables them to focus on more strategic activities for the business.The other thing that I like about the VDI is that the security levels are way better than working on a regular pc and there is a lower risk with spam and unwanted junk mail coming in from different servers. The cost for this is also way cheaper than trying to use desktops and integrating them into your own server. **What do you dislike about XTIUM Desktop as a Service?** The connectivity issues that we sometimes experience can sometimes give a headache. When the VDI server is down we are unable to log into our work desktops and unfortunately we lose money when this happens. VDI would work better if they were able to manage their connectivity logs better and have a good connection all the time. **Recommendations to others considering XTIUM Desktop as a Service:** The ability to enable employees to access a single desktop from many different places. **What problems is XTIUM Desktop as a Service solving and how is that benefiting you?** Many problems that we try to come together to resolve are the connectivity issues that we sometimes experience. VDI has several benefits that companies will win from such as the combination of providing anywhere access to data and applications while securing and managing multiple devices. With VDI, the IT department has the servers in their own data centers or their own server closet, versus with DaaS where the service provider is hosting everything. Once you centralize computing, you become dependent on high-availability infrastructure, redundant equipment, network, and the staffing requirements to keep things running. ### 9. I can stream and work on devices (virtual desktops) in remote locations. Once you log out of a virtual desktop nothing will remain from your session. Previously I could only access certain applications on a specific machine. The IT Team can administer updates to applications without causing much downtime. Sometimes you may not realize you are using a temporary profile until after you have been working in the environment. Sometimes multiple displays cause issues on the picklist values within applications as the application may be running on one monitor but the picklist defaults to the other monitor. **Recommendations to others considering XTIUM Desktop as a Service:** Easy user experience. Makes my job easier because I can access what I need anytime. Our students who are also using VDI can access their files from the VDI vs saving their files on a thumb drive. Freed up our departments time to do actual work for a change **What do you dislike about XTIUM Desktop as a Service?** Not a whole lot. There was a few apps that were missing originally and their integration took a bit longer than expected but it was probably due on the apps side than Clearlogin. Steve was very responsive. **Recommendations to others considering XTIUM Desktop as a Service:** Make sure you have good documentation for your employees when you do the switchover. **What problems is XTIUM Desktop as a Service solving and how is that benefiting you?** We used about 80 applications. Password resets were taking a lot of our time. We saved a lot of time and have way less forgotten password issues. ### 30. Ability to connect to network drives. **What do you dislike about XTIUM Desktop as a Service?** The product disconnects regularly. Not sure if the platform can be stablized to support enough users and users accessing the VDI remotely. Very difficult to troubleshoot if it is a users home network or the business network causing the repeated disconnects. The user profile sometimes becomes to large and causes users issues. **Recommendations to others considering XTIUM Desktop as a Service:** N/A **What problems is XTIUM Desktop as a Service solving and how is that benefiting you?** Provide faculty, staff and students the ability to access enterprise applications off site.
