**What do you like best about xMatters?**

xMatters provides rapid responses to digital disruptions and a valuable tool in fixing problems with digital systems. It helps in creating detailed reports and it is useful with audits and tracking. It helps in handling user's issues and stay compliant with industry rules. But when it comes to advanced reporting, it takes time.

  ### 13. Nice to have xMatters during late-night issues.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aamir S. | Senior DevOps Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 05, 2024

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

xMatters is my favorite tool for handling incidents like after-hours outages. It's so seamless that our SREs can spring into action from any device they might choose to be on - from laptops to mobiles. When we had a cluster and load-balancer issue during the night when, because of xMatters real-time alerts, our team was able to respond to it from their devices in an orchestrated way, containing the incident in 30 minutes, and we could go back to sleep. The monitoring and automated alerts are 24/7, so we never get taken unaware. It's like having an additional view of our infrastructure, which has been pretty stable.

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

Integrating xMatters with our existing stack was a laborious task as it demanded ongoing support from our platform team, who had to set everything correctly. Even now, we need some minor adjustments now and then to have it running right.

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

xMatters expedites incident response orchestration between Admin, DevOps and Dev teams, hence improving our MTTR levels totally. The run book of workflows has imposed organization on our process, which is an enormous part of the procedure, especially given that each minute counts. In tense situations, the presence of all people working towards the same end is the distinguishing thing.

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

I like that you can customize how you get alerted and the time increments if you want to set repeat notifications.

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

There should be a yes option instead of a number to reply to texts to escalate an incident, it can escalate an incident on accident if you make a typo.

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It sends us alerts on servicenow incidents that need a quick response.

  ### 15. "Happy to review xmatters"

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

no drawbacks about xmatters, we are thankful about this product, such a good tool for IT industries

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Manually notify the users as per criticality of incidents, scheduling timing we can set based on shifts, it will help to receive the notification in mobile or webapps to notify user via alerting system.

  ### 16. So fast notifications that we fix the problem before a customer notice.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anna C. | Senior Administator/DevOps, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2024

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

Becoming quite attached to xMatters as our notification platform is something important. In addition to sending multiple emails, we are no longer using spreadsheets in our on-call rotations. Just a few weeks ago, a major database outage occurred at 3 AM, and our xMatters totally alerted and called our database team via both Slack and phone calls in a matter of seconds. The integration capability which this platform has is the most beneficial factor for us. As soon as I decided to use simple code snippets to filter alerts, I was able to stop such unnecessary alerts from our monitoring system which previously called on our engineers. The mobile app is great during my commute, allowing me to manage schedule changes on the go.

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

As for the point that I consider a pain in my neck, it is the limitation of custom rotation patterns. Using a rather complicated method with subgroups to do a two-day rotation schedule was what we had to do.

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In high-pressure situations, the rapid notifications provided by this xMatters have drastically reduced our response time - I remember one case when we fixed a database issue before most customers even noticed the problem.

  ### 17. Streamlining incident management with ease

the respective people for the issue are alerted immediately .

  ### 19. Powerful tool to ease my Oncall support.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kalyana chakravarthy N. | Senior software engineer II, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 07, 2024

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

We use xMatters almost every day in our work. It has wide verity of features like oncall reports and keeping track of all the events.
When it come to integration it supports most of the industry standerd tools like slack etc.
I maintain a group and workflows in xmatters for our team. It made my job easy to schedule oncall by using shifts and oncall rotations. On the workflows its code feature to format/filter or any type of actions in inbound/outbound integrations are easy to imlement.
Its ease of creating abscence is one good feature and verity of platform support to use on a fly in any device.

I mainly like the video tutorials and api support.

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

One feature It is lacking in on-call rotaion. That is,
When we want to rotate 2 oncall memebers on a defined 2 day or 3 day rotaion it isn't supported today or no option to make it. It would be a great improvement if xMatters could implement this.

Since it isn't available I'm defining subgroups and had to rotate subgroups in a primary group.

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Primary It notifies when I needed in a critical incidents.

  ### 20. xMatters - A great Tool to have for Monitoring

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vishnu G. | Service Delibvery Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 06, 2024

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

The ease of use in setting up workflows to perform various tasks to contribute to our monitoring of the environment.
We being a monitoring team, really love the SMS feature that xMatters offers, as we can be away from our desk and can get back as soon as something critical comes up.
Ease of integration is also something that greatly helped us in implementing the integration with Datadog.

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

I would say that setting up of a On-call roster for calling individual team members is a tedious job.

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The SMS Feature and 3rd party tools Integration are the ones that we use the most in our daily BAU. We have integrated our xMatters instance with Datadog so any alert identified by Datadog is sent to us by the integration as an SMS.
This greatly helps us as a monitoring team as we can afford to be away from our desks and will know in case anything critical needs our attention.

The ease of setting up the integration via a workflow is again something that helps us as we have setup multiple workflows for ddifferent platform teams who are making use of the SMS feature as well.

Using xMatters we have automated the flow, so when any new email alert is called and published to xMatters then a new workflow is triggered to do an automated callout to the L2 team. **Reviewed by:** Vinay M. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2024

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

Messaging system and Dashboard for alerts

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

1. Schedule override can be better & Its difficult to put schedule overrides.

2.Problem - When multiple alerts get triggered at sametime from xMatters then xMatters trigger phone call for every alert to same oncall person. If you are on first xMatter alert call then xMatters keep calling you for another alerts. So person can not concentrate on first call itself.
Instead of xMatter wait for 1 min or so and gather information for alerts within 1 min and make a single call for all that alerts triggered within that 1 mins.
or you guys have better solution for this.
Our application is configured with multiple apps and multiple environments.

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Alerting system with dedicated events like messaging with alert triggered then after 5 mins phone call to oncall person then after 15 mins escalation next level.
