  ### 1. Useful Features

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2022

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

the alerting system and the on call reminders

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

the inability to repeat the alerts like a traditional alarm

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

keeping track for on-call duties and responsibilities

**Official Response from Mandeep Jassal:**

> Thanks for your review! We're happy to hear you're getting value from the on-call reminders. Just in case you weren't aware, your users can configure repeating alert reminders. Simply go to the Settings screen in the xMatters mobile app, and you will find an option to set repeating alerts. ### 2. A best tool for quick response on job failures and aborts.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2021

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

The response time is excellent. The tool equipped with all the required columns/information that needs to be sent when any job fails to run/execute. We can assign users of very large groups and can be able to send alerts and messages to all of them at the same time in a single click.

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

I liked the old user interface compared to the new one. At times it takes more time to log in. Apart from that, everything is fantastic.

**Recommendations to others considering xMatters:**

Go for it if you need to page out and sent alerts for a large group of people.

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Whenever the running job gets aborted, which is a high priority, the concerned person should know of it. So immediately after creating an incident, we send the message to a relevant group using x matters. Use of x matters is handy for paging outs daily at a particular time. We send alerts in the form of messages to all the respective teams.

**Official Response from Sonu Sekhon:**

> Thank you very much for your review of xMatters! It's great that you're able to notify specific users within large groups using the platform. Our goal is to provide you with the necessary tools to notify exactly who is needed to address high priority incidents quickly. Appreciate your feedback on the new interface, we'll pass that along to the product team.

  ### 3. Love the Clear Layout

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John C. | Technical Site Analyst I, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2021

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

-Simple layout: Xmatters looks great and is very simple to use. I can easily get to any of the components needed. This is really the biggest deal, because an application's quality and use really depends on if you can get to what you need in a simple and timely manner.
-easy to contact users: I can easily reach users through xmatters and it is pretty consistent for most of the time.
-Option for mobile on-call attachment: I appreciate the mobile attachment because it allows for use with a phone! This is great for when I am busy with my personal life and need to have my phone on mute or avoid getting loud alerts. Texts make for an easy and quiet notification.
-the ability to ping using messages and voice: I enjoy the voice message feature as i am able to fully explain myself and my issue to anyone im sending a message to. Words only go so far, but it helps to have a full voice message you can send explaining your problem. The only tip I can give here is to make sure to keep your voice message short! As people can lose you through lengthy explanations.
-ability to see who is on call: I like how easy it is to find someone who is on call.

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

-can be confusing looking up who's on call

**Recommendations to others considering xMatters:**

I recommend xMatters to everyone who needs a quality on-call application.

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

-we're solving on-call issues. xMatters is great for this function.

**Official Response from Zoe Na:**

> Hi John, thank you for taking the time to provide your review of xMatters and sharing your tip on short voice messages! We are happy to hear you are leveraging the various devices we support (sms, voice and mobile app) for on-call alerting. We appreciate the sharing of your use case and feedback on xMatters.

  ### 4. The Best you can get !!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sanjeev R. | Senior Consultant, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2021

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

The best alerting tool you can get at the moment. The notifications are real time which are available on all the mode. Even the mobile Apps is user friently and easy to use. On call roster has become so easy to manage with xMatters. Incident management UI is quite good and working on the Incident is easy. The ability to join the bridge from the notication is quite impressive. Also we dont have to be worry about the group of people who have been notified for that particular alert unlike previously when the NOC team used to send the alert to whole bunch of people which are not relevant also. Now the alert notication can reach to relavant people. It all send these alert by itself automatically. We can get all the relevant people on the bridge.
Lastly the xMatters support is very helpful and they always respond on time while addressing the support tickets.
Looking forward to integrate xMatters with JIRA env which I am sure will go pretty fine.

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

Nothing as such but the search functionality is bit weak which I am sure will be improved going forward. Another thing which came from Managment is related to Licensing and pricing model which they think is complicated. Also there can be some improvements on the reporting area with more filters so that reports can be optimized better.

**Recommendations to others considering xMatters:**

Highly recommended to other organizations infact we are recommeding it to our other clients within our organization.

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Real time notifications for the alerts. Easy management of Roster.

**Official Response from Zoe Na:**

> Hello Sanjeev thank you for taking the time to review xMatters! Great to hear that xMatters has helped ease your pain points and found the xMatters Incident Console easy to use. I'm sorry to hear that your management found the licensing and pricing model was difficult, I will forward your feedback to our teams.

In our latest Lunar Lander release, we've added additional filtering to our All Events Report https://support.xmatters.com/hc/en-us/articles/360060047571-Lunar-Lander-Apr-May-2021-Release-Overview#AERFI and Signals report https://support.xmatters.com/hc/en-us/articles/360060047571#SRE We would love to hear your thoughts on how we can improve our reporting, please reach out to our support team with your filter ideas.

  ### 5. Excellent tool for sharing business Communication

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2021

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

Ease of access , concise yet sufficient options to convey messages ,user interface and extremely helpful as we can see the recent messages , the sender etc.Extremely useful in business and while sharing communication related to major incident or any activity .

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

All seems good for now, however while sharing update on an existing message it should be received as a trail of last message rather than a new one .

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

we are using it for major incident management to share business communication , also for various activities like power maintenance etc , its a good tool to address the clients/ business owners.

**Official Response from Mandeep J:**

> Hi Aparajita! Thank you for taking the time to give xMatters a review. We're glad to hear the application is easy to use.

  ### 6. Interactive sandbox tool that gives you space to improve

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 06, 2021

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

The ease of use and UI are good starting points for beginners along with the one click to everything

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

There's a disparity in time when you try to search for alerts based on the UI, the development notes could be structured better also

**Recommendations to others considering xMatters:**

Approach it with an open mind, the out of the gate version might be rough, but the future availability of tools at your disposal is what swings it - there's more room to improve on your company experience of using it than other " this is what you get" tools

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automation, figuring out the inner workings of workflows and applications. Benefits include one click response, quicker response time itself and more access to a sandbox of tools to create the solutions ourselves rather than wait months on a release by you guys that somewhat fixes a specific issue of ours

**Official Response from Sonu Sekhon:**

> Great review, thank you! We're always pleased to hear when customers are able to take advantage of automation capabilities and implement their unique workflows themselves to resolve issues more quickly. That's interesting feedback on our search capabilities and development notes. Please consider opening a support ticket and noting this review, so that we engage our product and engineering teams. ### 7. Good options for notifications. Limited app functionality compared to web.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Priyank P. | Database Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2021

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

Notifications and page alert Options:
App,
SMS,
Email
Call

Granular Option to configure alerts and people in the shift.
Option to Configure multiple shifts.

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

Acknowledging incidents/alerts can be painful
At times we receive several alerts at times. But we have to manually acknowledge these alerts one by one.
There should be an option to select all and response.

Also Apps Both android and IOS have limited functionality. You cant configure device, shifts in the app. This can be painful too.

Moreover, a lot of times, the acknowledged response go unrecorded and can cause escalations. This is a bug

Responses are slow. Not fluid

A Slack integration would be wonderful.

**Recommendations to others considering xMatters:**

Shall advice to opt for xMatters as alternative are not tried yet

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Incident alerts per client related to Servers.
Integration to Jira is good and is helpful.
Alerts on mobile apps are helpful.

**Official Response from Zoe Na:**

> Hi Priyank, thank you for taking the time to send us this review. Sorry to hear that you have experienced issues responding to notifications. To ensure that we can best assist you, please reach out to the support team with the event details using this form https://support.xmatters.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=26515

  ### 8. Excellent xMatters!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kalyani R. | Infrastructure Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2021

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

The flexibility to install the app on any mobile device and still receive all the essential details of any incident/outage is fantastic. Ay conference bridge information too is available in the app and thats very useful.
Also like the ability to update a backup member for an on-call rotation when I'm not available. The tool is user friendly and functional.

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

The "My schedule" feature can show the on-call rotation week a little more clearly.
It lets me know when I'm on-call...but it is listed on a per-day basis instead of my entire on-call rotation week. It would be good to see the start and end date of an on-call rotation on a calendar.

**Recommendations to others considering xMatters:**

Handy tool for any organization. Highly recommend!

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Notifications/Triage of ongoing incidents/outages to appropriate teams, so we can come together and quickly resolve issues.

**Official Response from Mandeep J:**

> Hi Kalyani! Thank you for taking the time to review xMatters. Great to hear that the xMatters mobile app is providing ease of use. The mobile app does provide an option to view your schedule in a monthly/weekly calendar view. Check out this article, under the "Viewing your schedule" section, https://support.xmatters.com/hc/en-us/articles/360044692371. I hope this helps to view your schedules better.

  ### 9. Best incident response management application with real-time monitoring and engagement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** SAHIL D. | sales manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2021

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

One of the best incident response management applications that provide real-time monitoring, customization, and schedule management. Xmatter is an intuitive and robust application that can ensure alerts are addressed without affecting manual intervention. It is easy to use with a simple user interface on both web and mobile platforms. Overall I liked Xmatters that helped us automate incident creation and engagement.

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

Customer support could be better to resolve the integration issue.

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Xmatter helped us automate incident creation, response management, and real-time monitoring. It is easy to use and easily accessible on the web and mobile platforms.

**Official Response from May Loo:**

> We are very happy to see that you think we’re one of the best applications for incident management out there! Thank you for the feedback, Sahil.

  ### 10. xMatter and me in daily work

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2021

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

Its fully automated and having logs for each action

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

it should be more user friendly and dynamic

**Recommendations to others considering xMatters:**

Its excellent product and automate incident ticketing systems

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

we use xmatter for major inciden handling

**Official Response from Sonu Sekhon:**

> Thank you for your review of xMatters, Atulkumar! We love hearing that you're automating your incident process with xMatters.

If you have ideas for improvement that would make system more intuitive, please send them to our online community or let our support team know and we can add a product enhancement request on your behalf.

  ### 11. Good rotation tool. It help us plan our on-call shift.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yao Noel A. | Cloud DevOps, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 26, 2021

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

Easy to replace someone on his shift. Simple and intuitive interface. Possibility to be paged by multiple means (sms, voice, apps). When you need to be replaced, you just need to switch with your teammate and that it! No need to include your manager.

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

There are bugs sometimes. For instance, you receive sms pages that you cannot acknowledge by replying to the sms. To fix that, you have to de-register your device and register it back. One other bug we have faced is some flooding messages. Xmatters started flooding messages to all the team.

**Recommendations to others considering xMatters:**

Please review the bugs I have mentioned.

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are solving production issues by making the team cover 24/7. We have teams all over the world and we use xmatters to implement follow the sun on-call rotation. I mentioned some bugs, but overall, the application really help us implement the FTS.

  ### 12. Great mobile application

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 12, 2021

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

I like to use the mobile app and it is working very well. I don't use web app. Mobile app is very helpful when you are working outside standard working hours in order to take reponsability of new incidents assigned to our team. web application is used to help us organize rotation in our team and assign resources to help us manage incidents assigned to our team.

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

I don't like notification sounds available in the app. Sounds are very old school, I think you'll need to add more modern sounds. I prefer to use notifications sounds of SMS because we have more choice in iOS than in xMatters mobile app. Mobile app interface is good in my point of view but I think it will be helpful to add an option to take actions in batch mode and not only one incident at a time. Sometime, we receive a lot of incidents at the same hour/minute and it takes too much time to deal with incidents one by one. It will be a great improvement I think

**Recommendations to others considering xMatters:**

I recommend you try this service and i think you will like it

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are usign xMatters to help us take responsability on new incidents assigned to our team. Also, it helps us to deal with escalation if we don't reply soon enough, incident will notify another user in our team. I like your service and never used one as good as this one in the past. It is working fine and needs few improvements.

  ### 13. Great Product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Prakash K. | DAtabase Admin, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 11, 2021

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

Paging feature with ability to add phone in paging list
Ability to Assign multiple People in oncall
The most important feature is to add phone with SMS option in the oncall rotation. Also the ability to add your absence make it possible to make someone as your backup so you do not get paged while you are on vacation. There are many options with schedule and the group where a person can be a part of so overall i would strongly recommend xmatters to anyone. This is the best tool i worked in my professional life so far. Easy to use and loaded with a lot of good options. This is a very good tool and i would recommend to use this software by anyone who is willing to replace old paging system as this can add a lot of value to the end user and the client as well as it will help eveyone.I wish all the best to the xmatters team and thank them to develop such a wonderful product which helps as lot on day to day basis. I am glad to be a part of this survery. Thanks !!

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

UI can be more friendly which helps to navigate faster sometimes it lags a lot.But other things are very good and do not see any other issues.

**Recommendations to others considering xMatters:**

I would highly recommend it to anyone. It is easy to use and user friendly. It takes a lot of burden out of dba.

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

paging issues
escalation procedure
Abitily to add many people in one level of escalation

  ### 14. Our event management platform for IT ops

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Clint D. | Operations Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 11, 2021

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

Most people likely indicate the On-Call management as the best feature, however that is just a tiny element of our Workflows. The workflow builder is something we utilize heavily to ensure the correct notifications get to the person that needs them in the minimum amount of time and with the fewest possible disruptions to folks that don't need to know.

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

Some UI elements could be better developed. The core functions are there, but other elements that you would expect are slow rolling out. For instance, the incident creation system works well and the integrations as good, but a QOL feature that needs to be added is the ability to delete an incident after conducting a test.

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Outside of managing our on-call rotation, this supplies a self managed platform for our various engineering teams to create their own engagement models. This is freeing up our Operations team to manage our daily workloads more effectively rather than playing traffic cop to any of our other engineering teams.

  ### 15. My experience with Xmatters has been great. Always works as intended.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Josh S. | Software Engineer II, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2021

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

It gives our team great flexibility with the easy-to-manage rotation schedules. Single sign on is great. Simple easy to use incident management makes Sev alerts quick yet useful.

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

I have been using xmatters for 3 years now, and I don't have any dislikes that stand out to me. My only comment would be how to switch between accounts to either manage on-call alerts or incident management.

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are solving the problem of easily being able to alert out on-call techs. We have realized the easy alerts that go to our phones leads to quicker tech response times. Also, using incident management it creates an easy way to send out mass communication about issues in our organization.

**Official Response from Mandeep J:**

> Hi Josh, thank you for providing your great feedback on xMatters. Sounds like you have some great feedback that might be useful to our Product teams. Feel free to provide your feedback by using the form at https://support.xmatters.com/hc/en-us/requests/new.

  ### 16. Xmatters Regular User

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2021

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

1) The User Interface, esp the option to acknowledge, close are good and sleek . The mobile application UI is especially slick and user friendly.
2) The setup is easy
3) The options to get notified, the personal notification setup options are excellent !!

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

1) The amount of navigation that needs to be done to switch the on-call. Would be great if we could have options to pin/mark pages as favourites so that we could easily navigate to them.
2) Wish there were better options available to handle pager storms, ie repeat alarms. Ways to configure alarming in a manner, that we can ack multiple pagers together.. ie bulk acknowledge. For Eg an issue in the datacentre is likely to cause multiple alarms, once an engineer has been made aware of the issue they would like to ack all alarms in bulk.
3) Another thing good to have would be a way to link multiple tickets while ack, suppose we receive an incident and want to link it to a previous one. would be good to have a mechanism to link it to possible a master ticket or any other cross ticket linking.. have seen this with most of the previous tools iv used.. eg remedy
4) Analytics dashboard incorporated with the ability to configure dynamic reporting

**Recommendations to others considering xMatters:**

It a robust & dependable tool for your mission-critical business requirements.

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Wish there were better options available to handle pager storms, ie repeat alarms. Ways to configure alarming in a manner, that we can ack multiple pagers together.. ie bulk acknowledge. Eg an issue in the datacentre is likely to cause multiple alarms, once an engineer has been made aware of the issue they would like to ack all alarms in bulk, possibly linked to a chiled

**Official Response from Zoe Na:**

> Hello thank you for your recommending xMatters as a robust and mission-critical solution. Great to hear you enjoy using our web and mobile app. In regards to being able group events and improved handling of pager storms, leveraging xMatters incidents and event suppression could help. Please feel free to reach out to our support team or have your xMatters admin reach out to us to find out more - https://support.xmatters.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

  ### 17. Flexible and Capable

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rajvir B. | Major Incident Manager Apprentice , Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2021

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

It's a flexible tool. I can use it to connect to and interact with other systems, either by receiving or sending data. It has clever features built in that can help to streamline or enhance working processes. It helps when the Incident Managers can use a familiar system like xMatters during major incidents so they can focus more on restoring sevice and less on how to send out a message to stakeholders. Because it's a flexible tool, incident communications are being sent onto MS Teams and on Workplace as well as the standard email and SMS.

I also like that they consider enhancement requests, I've submitted a few and some have been taken onboard.

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

Some enhancements will need you to have some understanding of coding or other technical things (Javascript, JSON etc...). Sometimes I feel like the tool misses some open goals, which can be achieved but need a bit of an internal workaround to get working (Again demonstrating the flexbility of the tool). Sometimes enhancement requests take a bit too long to implement for features that just make sense to do.

**Recommendations to others considering xMatters:**

Have a look at the tool and see what it connects with; you might be in for a treat.

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Now we can send communications on to more people during Major Incidents, so the business is more informed about what is going on. We're also able to automate processes the Major Incident Management team would have had to manually carry out, reducing their overheads and making things less time-consuming for them.

**Official Response from Mandeep J:**

> Thank you for the great feedback, Rajvir! We're happy to see that you're integrated with MS Teams and keeping stakeholders in the loop while resolving major incidents.  We are actively working on making integrations easier to implement with little to no code. I hope you'll see improvements in this area in upcoming releases.

  ### 18. xMatters, top product, top team.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Outsourcing/Offshoring | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 30, 2021

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

The use of xMatters has enabled us to consolidate on-call rotas from various locations, enabling incident managers to initiate a call-out more efficiently and accurately.

Auto escalation to peers/management as required if no response is received from primary on-call.

Engaging with xMatters staff is a real pleasure, the company as a whole appears to have a great culture.

I am an administrator of the system and also a consumer of the on-call notifications. As a consumer, I've found it less stressful getting a call-out from xMatters as there is no need for the niceties of having an actual conversation with an Incident Manager at 3am having just woken up. The mobile app is a great feature as this enables you to respond to a call-out even if you may have missed the first phone call.

The ability to configure multiple devices is great as it is possible to be engaged via different methods depending on requirement, for example, stakeholders who may only want to be notified via email for information rather than being called at the time of the issue.

Client satisfaction has been improved as they can feel the benefit of a reduced time to engage and also be informed of incidents that have taken place.

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

There really isn't much to dislike about xMatters. If anything, the browser interface can appear a little clunky in certain areas, but in recent releases these areas are being addressed.

**Recommendations to others considering xMatters:**

I would undoubtedly recommend xMatters to anyone considering it. Go for the free product initially if in doubt; I'm confident you'll be impressed.

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Consolidation and automation of on-call groups/shifts/rotas with auto-escalation to management if no response is received to a call out.

Notification to stakeholders/interested parties of call-outs.

Automated call-outs via alerting tools engaging via webhooks and email.

**Official Response from Mandeep J:**

> Thank you for taking the time to give your xMatters review. We're happy to hear that you're using many of the great features and benefiting from all the value xMatters provides.

  ### 19. Very useful tool for multiple use cases

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 26, 2021

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

The set up of xMatters went very smoothly, much more so than alot of other cloud based applications that I support. It is easy to provision users and groups from ServiceNow and set up custom communication flows. The admin trainings were very helpful to quickly get brought up to speed on the tool so that we are able to support our user base.

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

By default it would be ideal if members of a group could manage their own groups on call schedule without having to escalate to an admin or the manager of the group.

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We previously had our on call system built out with a custom infobase based application within ServiceNow. This required manual intervention from all of the users to maintain their schedule as well as manually update their contact preferences. The system had no elevation path for on call and our incident management team would have to manually dial out to contact people for incidents and triage bridges. This system also did not allow for reporting of any kind for response rates from teams or any other important triage / incident based metrics.

**Official Response from Mandeep J:**

> Thank you for the great review! It sounds like you're using the xMatters ServiceNow integration which makes it really easy to configure your on-call teams. We're happy to hear that the built-in user and group sync is an added value to you. You should be able to allow your users to manage their own groups and shifts. I recommend reaching out to our client assistance team so that we can assist you with getting this set up. You can reach the team by visiting https://support.xmatters.com/hc/en-us/requests/new.

  ### 20. A toolset that makes a difference

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 22, 2021

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

xMatters provides a trackable, measurable and highly reliable solution to a problem that many organizations have; how to consistently and reliably manage and engage their out-of-hours support resources. xMatters delivers a highly configurable and scalable solution that addresses these issues in a way that aligns with the needs and practices of the modern IT workforce.

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

Some of the administration screens can be inconsistent in terms of look-and-feel and some non-universal basic functionality. These issues are, however, being improved upon all the time, and the vendor is very open to feedback in this regard.

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main benefits are a reliable and consistent engagement platform for support staff. Previously team rota information would be held in a number of locations and formats and this greatly mal-effected the efficiency of the engineer engagement processes. xMatters has enabled that to be standardised and also provides far greater ownership and accountability throughout the incident lifecycle. The benefits of this have been felt by all parties; ourselves, our clients and the on-call engineers, all of whom have seen a measurably improved service.

**Official Response from Mandeep J:**

> Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We're happy to hear the on-call scheduling has standardized your processes and improved your teams' service. You'll be happy to hear that as part of on-going UI improvements, the Admin screen will soon get similar updates. Stay tuned for more information to come.

  ### 21. My experience is good. The calling feature is good. Need time to explore more in the coming usage.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Transportation/Trucking/Railroad | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 12, 2021

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

The calling feature, when an email comes from oncall DL , this app makes a phone call to the configured users cell phone plus it sends an email, number of times to call back and duration between each call can be configured, plus if the primary person does not acknowledge the call, the call will be escalated to next person in the list and so-on.

Since we are working in the IT support team, this calling back feature will allow the indivisual who is on support can get the critical alerts in time and won't miss any crtical alerts, and take appropriate actions in a timely manner.

Currently we are using the smart phone's feature to set up customized alerts features to trigger critical alerts regarding production issues including gateway server is down, ftp server is down, integration server is down, and any critical failures regarding some major clients's orders or deliveries etc. However, the customization in the cell phone is not working stablely, and more important, the IT management want to have a centralized managed and organized apllication for the IT alerts. In that way, the infrastruture team can create a standard formats for all IT alerts, and give it to different IT teams to use. xMatters has the features that we need.

Our infrastructure team is still implementing xMatters and may integrate this application with some other apllicatgions that our IT department is currently using. Hopefully we can utilize the features provided by xmatters along with our IT softwares to improve our support and ticket managements.

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

I have not found the least helpful about xMatters and the downsides of using xMatters yet. Currently our infrastructure team is still implementing, confifuring and testing this application, we are still in the testing phase for this application, therefore can not provide detailed information regarding the failures or errors that we may encounter.

In the future usage, believe more information can be collected ad sheared as to how to improve this application from an IT support perspective.

**Recommendations to others considering xMatters:**

If the IT department of a comnay looks for some applications to improve their support experience and ticket management, I may let them to check xMatters out and eveluate the features to see if those will fir their support requirements.

I will introduce them the calling feature, when an email comes from oncall DL , this app makes a phone call to the configured users cell phone plus it sends an email, number of times to call back and duration between each call can be configured, plus if the primary person does not acknowledge the call, the call will be escalated to next person in the list and so-on.

Currently we are still initializing the usage and eveluating this applications therefore we need time to explore more features and experience of this applications. In order to recommend to others, we need more detailed information, for example like some statistics, special support cases etc and document all these information.

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Get alerts in a timely manner, and primary/secondary support personel will not miss any critical alerts.

  ### 22. xMatters

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 30, 2021

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

The phone app is easy to use and convenient.
It clearly displays tickets that have escalated to me.

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

I would like to see who is on call just by clicking on the team's calendar. Also, the link to open the ticket doesn't work.

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Getting problem ticket notifications as soon as possible allows us to give better customer service.

**Official Response from Manpreet Lagah:**

> Thank you for the reivew, and we're thrilled you like the mobile app. We are working on some enhacements to the groups area and how calendars are displayed. If you would like to provide feedback to the Product Management team and see what they're working on, please reach out to our support team at https://support.xmatters.com/hc/en-us/requests/new. They'd be happy to set up a meeting for you.

  ### 23. No one wants to be alerted in the early morning but it's important for it to happen reliably

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 23, 2021

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

Lots of options for receiving notifications

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

I'd like the ability to have backup devices for notifications. I have a work phone and a personal phone and have them both set up for notifications. But ideally I'd get the alert to my work phone first, and if I don't respond there, I will get it on my personal phone. Currently, I'll get the alerts simultaneously on both phones.

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helping us solve the problem of getting alerted reliably for incidents with enough context to address the alert.

**Official Response from Manpreet Lagah:**

> Thank you for leaving a review, we're glad you're liking the flexibility of xMatters! You can can put delays between your work and personal phone, this can be set up on the devices page under your profile. if you need help please reach out to your dedicated Customer Success Manager or our 24/7 support team at https://support.xmatters.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

  ### 24. Great product and organization, but a bit high priced

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brian A. | IT Consultant, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2019

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

Reliable OnDemand cloud platform, easy to administer, knowledgeable and quick to respond support.

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

High per user cost model necessitates increased license management and increased defensive justification to customers against competing products. Need a mid tier for those who just want to send pages, more than DR emergency prep message model, but less than full ITIL Incident Management model.

Device Usage by paid tier thresholds, and by paid destination country thresholds is very lacking, I have to build my own reports in Excel from monthly downloads.

**Recommendations to others considering xMatters:**

Requires an administrator with a stong development/coding or system administration background to lead the other teams that support the integrating products, unless you have strong developers in those organizations already.

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Major and Critical Incident management notification, and Rest API notification

  ### 25. Some very useful improvements are needed would like export to gcal

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2021

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

I like that the push notifications work well and are consistent.

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

It is not easy to find my individual schedule on the mobile app or website. I would like to see only my schedule, not the schedule of everyone on my team. I also wish there was a way to export my schedule to google calendar so I don't have to update my calendar everytime the on call schedule is released.

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DevOps, backups to other contacts method help me not miss alerts

**Official Response from Manpreet Lagah:**

> Thank you for leaving a review. We're glad you're finding the xMatters mobile useful. We have some updates to groups and schedules in the works, if you'd like to provide feedback on the upcoming designs to the Product Management team, please reach out to your dedicated Customer Success Manager and they can coordinate a meeting.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

The support that is available from the xmatters team is great and they are always willing to listen and take on feedback in regards to any improvement opportunities for the system.

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

A fresh look to the overall platform may help to motivate other users within the business to use the platform more and tailor their experience according to their own needs.

**Recommendations to others considering xMatters:**

If you are looking for something other than your usual paging software, you are in great hands with the xMatters team.

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The integration into our core Incident management platform is currently being worked on.
In terms of benefits we are able to scramble out teams in an organised manner in a short period of time, very easily.

**Official Response from Mandeep J:**

> Thank you for the great review! We take a lot of pride in the support we provide so we're always happy to hear it from our users! We'd love to hear more about improvements we can make to our application. ### 27. Great product

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 05, 2021

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

Immense flexibility to route and process alerts to match your business process and flow. We were able to deploy flows as simple as one step to flows with ~20 different "forks" or decisions that had to be made that also pulled additional data in via API call's to make decisions. For example, based on the timezone or country the client is in, do this.

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

With this amount of flexibility, it comes with a large amount of complexity, and a UI can become very confusing to navigate around.

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Needed a platform that could handle our complex decision trees for routing alerts, in some case the flow goes through ~20 decisions before it gets routed.

**Official Response from Sonu Sekhon:**

> Thank you for your super review! We love hearing about the complex use cases our customers have implemented with the Flow Designer. We're always looking to improve user experience so let us know which parts of the UI could be more intuitive. You can use this link to give us your feedback: https://support.xmatters.com/hc/en-us/community/topics/360000688491-Product-Feedback.

Xmаttеrs іs great for paging and has been a game changer when you don't have a system like it. Love the the ability to hand off on-call rotations and resolve incidents directly in the page.

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

Xmatters Android mobile app is lacking. It could use a refresh and updatedvto match all the functionality available. Would like to see more direct integrations with other applications.

**Recommendations to others considering xMatters:**

Review how you plan to integrate it and expectations of workflows. Also consider the costs involved based how many users you expect.

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**Reviewed Date:** August 16, 2021

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

the ease of setting up calendar and shifts within the program.

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

roster layout, having some with too much info ( tablet, phone, email, and so on ). Beleive its due to me not having admin rights and setup as a user honestly.

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

since the hospitals are 24hr and our company is not, we use this as a paging service for any after hour tech needed for the 24-hour depts

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2021

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

Gives best way to get alert in the time of outages.
This xmatters is the best option for handling outages. once any user chooses to trigger xmatter it helps user in getting attention on his issueby generating automatic calls and messages to support engineers to work on the issue imediately.

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

It can limit the calls and nitification to 2 or 3.
as sometimes this keeps on giving notification until it is acknowledged. its very irritating in the weekends.

Outages, emergency tickets resolution. very useful for business for satisfying thier clients with solution for outages in time.

**Reviewed by:** Andrew C. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 06, 2020

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

xMatters can integrate with over 200+ other applications (many of which my company uses today) to better drive automation end to end! We have also been able to utilize its API webhook features to tie it into our homegrown applications as well, greatly increasing the benefits the product has to offer! Also, the tools GUI is very intuitive, making it easy to create forms and flows. Another cool feature is the ability to create flows in a Non-Prod environment and test them out before moving them over to production.

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

For manual workflows, there is not a way to copy and paste a picture to a field easily, you must use an image URL instead.

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to leverage xMatters for automated email, voice, SMS, and Slack notification on all critical alarming for our companies most customer-facing applications. We no longer need to draft manual emails or perform call outs to support teams for incidents. This is not only creating greater accuracy in assuring the right support groups get targetted in a more timely manner on the right incidents, but also creating huge cost savings for the company as less time and resources are needed for these repetitive tasks. Currently, we are working on using xMatters Twilio integration to mimic and IVR phone system that some teams prefer using, instead of utilizing a 3rd party for this service.

  ### 42. App Review

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2021

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

It is easy to login and see the inbox for notifications, I appreaicte how easy it is to install and sign in.

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

Not really compatible with iPhones, the calendar does not update to keep up with the changes made on the Web Application, hard to read what the real issues are in the message. After sending a message on the Web OR App it dissapears, creating and editing the time slots is not really user friendly.

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Getting paged about tickets within out system. Love that it is an easily installed app.

**Official Response from Zoe Na:**

> Hello, great to hear xMatters mobile app was easy to install and is used to reach you. We are continuously working on enhancing our usability on both the web and mobile apps. For example in our latest release we have added the functionality to star forms for easy access - https://support.xmatters.com/hc/en-us/articles/360060047571-Lunar-Lander-Apr-May-2021-Release-Overview#SPAAMW

On both the web and mobile app after sending a message, you can view recently sent messages through the Recent Events Report. On the mobile app this is found under More > Reports. We can also provide assistance on improving your message layout to ensure that important details are highlighted. Simply reach out to the support team with the workflow/form details using this form - https://support.xmatters.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

  ### 43. Best friend for on call

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 13, 2021

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

I like that I can choose which level of alerts actually send me a push notification.

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

I honestly cannot think of anything that I don't like. For my use case its a perfect application.

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to see when services go down or when resources are strained

**Official Response from Sonu Sekhon:**

> Amazing review, thank you! We're happy to hear that the solution fits your use case so well and that you're benefiting from the flexibility xMatters provides for alerts.

  ### 44. xMatters - A wonderful app to bring in folks

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2021

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

xMatters is a very interesting tool, which makes business hurdles very easy. Any service disruption involving teams is very easy from an Incident manager standpoint. Kudos to the team who developed this.

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

Some time the config mismatch happens, when we page the on-call should get a response. but sometimes it is not.

**Recommendations to others considering xMatters:**

None, u are doing all gud

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a major incident manager, I can get in folks from different domains very easily. I used to resolve as many incidents within SLA due to this.

**Official Response from Mandeep J:**

> Thank you for your review. We're happy that you're able to resolve service disruptions quickly and easily with xMatters. In regards to getting responses from your on-call team members, you may want to get assistance from our excellent support team. There is a good chance this is just a configuration issue. To contact our support team, go to https://support.xmatters.com/hc/en-us/requests/new.

  ### 45. Good UI, Annoying Ringtones

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Phil H. | Deployment Project Manager (IT Project Manager / Information Technology Project Manager), Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 12, 2020

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

Relative ease with which I can navigate the web and iOS versions.

I like I can set custom wait times between alert modalities.

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

No options for less klaxon-like ringtones for low priority alerts.

Apple Watch app doesn't work with the Watch OS 7.

Would like Siri shortcuts and voice integration.

An Amazon Alexa integration for alerts would be helpful, although it would need to have options for certain hours and days of the week.

Can't add more than one phone of the same model for alert hierarchy.

Doesn't seem to have a dark mode option.

In regards to the Microsoft Teams bot, I would like to see an autocomplete behavior when I start typing the name of an assignment group.

Don't like that the Absence function sets the end date as tomorrow - most of my absences start and end on the same day.

**Recommendations to others considering xMatters:**

When switching to XMatters, be sure to re-evaluate the organization of your assignment groups, trimming, eliminating, merging, and creating as necessary.

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Knowing, without fail, who is on call for an assignment group; and making sure there is 100% coverage within my own team with the absence scheduling feature.

Also, xMatters allows for a degree on non-repudiation in terms of users saying that they never saw an alert. I do like how I can view the results of an acknowledge in the historic details for an interaction in our service management portal.

  ### 46. Intuitive & Customizable Notifications Through xMatters

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Beth C. | Application Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 17, 2020

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

Great opportunities for training and accessible at any price point - including a limited free option.
Also Customer Service/Support has been very responsive when we have had questions or issues.

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

The only thing I have come across that I don't like is that so far the training opportunities all seem to be based on the Pacific time zone. This really isn't much of a complaint! Otherwise the product has been great and easy to use.
One additional item is that the Apple iOS push notifications seem to be buggy at times, but support is aware of the issue and is working on it.

**Recommendations to others considering xMatters:**

Take advantage of the training and the online help articles.

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use xMatters as our incident notification system that is integrated with Service Manager. We are a large health care organization with a robust IT department - many of the applications & services used in our facilities are supported by our IT department and if there is an issue with any of them, patient care could be compromised. It is important that notifications are delivered immediately to the On-Call person who can solve the problem. xMatters helps us route those incidents correctly. We also use xMatters to notify teams of non-emergency tasks or change requests.

  ### 47. My xMatters Experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vivek V. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 23, 2020

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

We use xMatters for all of our communications for HP Service manager ticketing, and alerting. Our on-duty team and incident management processes rely heavily on xMatters. xMatters helps us with monitoring and addressing the production issues at the earliest. Ease of use, simple interface to replace existing on call person with another person, schedule management and alerts are few things that I like in xMatters

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

The interface can be even more intuitive.
Sometimes, the alerts for the job failures are not real time and sometime xMatters tend to miss few alerts for failures.
A ticket requires multiple acknowledgements to make the notification inbox disappear.

**Recommendations to others considering xMatters:**

The best tool for incident management in a large scale organization. xMatters is instrumental in easing communication barriers and focusing on incident resolution.

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Production failures notification to on-call team, CAB and peer review meeting alerts and for scheduling on call calendar for the on call team. We also use xMatters to acknowledge a failure in production notified by HP Service manager.

  ### 48. Great Incident Management Tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dale M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 23, 2020

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

Excellent integration with other workflow applications, as well as notifying and contacting other employees. xMatters can be tied into ticketing and notification programs such as Jira and Slack to quickly, and automatically notify and log incidents, as well as monitoring alerts. xMatters is also used to notify staff during off-duty hours.

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

The UI can be a confusing at times, and it can take a little while to sort through the various menus and find what you're looking for. Workflows are very powerful tools, but as part of that there are many options, and many different menus that need to be sorted through, which can be confusing and take time to find the right option.

**Recommendations to others considering xMatters:**

Reach out to the support team with any questions. They are knowledgeable and extremely helpful when tailoring xMatters to fit your solution. Learn the xMatters workflows. They are very powerful and can solve many problems.

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

xMatters is helping to notify off-duty staff, as well as streamline Incident Management. Having xMatters has given me a single location to notify staff members when something is wrong. This has saved me time and effort since I don't have to track down who is charge of an application/system, and how to contact them. xMatters also helps with my Incident Management process. It can automatically create incident tickets, as well as open Slack channels to create places to discuss and address the incident, as well as logging afterwards.

  ### 49. Xmatters for On call paging

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michelle-Lee C. | Associate Enterprise System Administrator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 13, 2021

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

That its easy to use online and on the app to change out people for on-call rotations and gives you lots of ways to get alerted.

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

I have not found something i dislike so far

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Xmatters for our on-call rotation.

**Official Response from Manpreet Lagah:**

> Thank you for the great review! We're happy that you're enjoying the flexibility xMatters offers.

  ### 50. Great experience with xMatters as a product and with their support and service teams.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2021

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

Scheduling can be delegated out and management sourced by the individual teams, decreasing overhead by management.

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

Wanting more native integrations and not dependant on creating new APIs.

**Recommendations to others considering xMatters:**

Great product, handles what it's supposed to. Great platform can be pushed hard and integrated with a lot of different sources and flow system makes development easy for built-in integrations.

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Typically IT incident notification only. Being able to get ahold of technicians using multiple methods makes things simple. Exploring the incident management options.

**Official Response from Mandeep J:**

> Thank you for your review. We're glad to hear the on-call management features allow you to decrease admin overhead.  We're looking to add more and more native integrations. We'd love to hear what specific integrations you're looking for.  You can submit your ideas here: https://support.xmatters.com/hc/en-us/community/topics/360000688491-Product-Feedback
