  ### 1. Robust Accounting Software with Effortless Receipt Tracking and Credit Card Integration

**What do you like best about Xero?**

The program is quite robust, especially compared to the previous accounting software I was using.  My accountant introduced it to me, and I can certainly see why they love it as much as they do.  I typically log in 1-2 times a month to review my spending.  I love how easy it is to track my receipts, spending, etc.    Now that I reconcile my own books each month, the Hubdoc feature is especially helpful for matching my receipts to my spending.  I also like how easy it is to integrate my credit cards so I don't have to worry about importing those transactions.  I use a small, local credit union for banking, and though I do have to manually import transactions from those accounts via CSV files, it's VERY easy to do so and doesn't take much time at all.  Xero's customer support is great and has been helpful when needed.  Overall it's been a great tool on the accounting side of my small business.

**What do you dislike about Xero?**

Though I've certainly become more familiar with the program, I don't feel that it's intuitive, especially if you're not familiar with reconciling transations.

**What problems is Xero solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Xero helps keep my business spending organized from month to month.  I like that I can easily compare monthly reports.  It helps to keep me ready come tax time.

**What do you like best about Xero?**

What is impressive the most is how easy to use from anywhere. Whether creating invoice, checking cash flow, reconciliation of transaction, it seems that the flow of process is logical. Automation (bank reconciliation, recurring bill) saves a great deal of tedious task. Multi users support allows us working simultaneously without conflicts.

**What do you dislike about Xero?**

Some of the features you will need to learn about if you're unfamiliar with accounting software, Some of the prices may be a little bit expensive for a small team and the integrations are not all seamless to allow for a few to review.

**What problems is Xero solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Xero has made the accounting and finance processes centralized rather than using separate tools or trying to track everything. This leads to greater accuracy when bookkeeping, a greater visibility into finance and leads to faster more accurate, data backed decisions.

**What do you like best about Xero?**

Xero is user friendly and has a nice look and feel, particularly for someone that isn't from an accounting background like myself. With an overview of things like expenses, cash flow and reports on the dashboard it allows for rapid decision making and also it is web based so I don't have to always go to the finance department for the information and the live updates and integrations of this will make collaborating easier.

**What do you dislike about Xero?**

One downside I've observed is the limit in customisation when handling complex, project based financial tracking. Furthermore the initial set up time for a larger organization with multiple entities and extensive reporting can be somewhat tedious.

**What problems is Xero solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The way Xero makes things easier for managing expenses, invoicing and having a visibility on the project finances. By taking away some of the manual effort of coordinating with the finance and the financial control of the project is improved which allows for better planning at the project level.

**What do you like best about Xero?**

What I like best about Xero is its simplicity and user-friendly design. It makes managing finances much less intimidating, even for people who don't have a strong accounting background. I also appreciate how it brings together invoicing, bank reconciliation and financial reporting. Overall, it strikes a great balance between powerful functionality and ease of use.

**What do you dislike about Xero?**

One thing I dislike about Xero it that some of its more advanced features can take time to learn, especially for new users who are unfamiliar with accounting software. However these are relatively  minor issues compare to the overall value and functionality that Xero provides.

**What problems is Xero solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Xero is solving the challenge of making financial management simpler and more accessible. For me, the biggest benefit is having financial information available in one place and updated in real time. This makes it easier to stay organized, make informed decision, and spend less time on routine tasks.

**What do you like best about Xero?**

Xero has a clean, user friendly interface and is easy to get started with even if you're not an accounting nerd. Automation features such as bank feeds and transaction matching have saved a lot of time and manual effort. What I like about it is that it's cloud based so I can access everything from anywhere and I don't have to worry about system dependencies. Once you get the hang of it, it fits into your everyday workflow quite naturally.

**What do you dislike about Xero?**

The price may seem a little high, especially for smaller teams. Also, some advanced features takes time to fully understand, although the basic features are simple. User interface has some minor lag from time to time but nothing that is a serious issue with day to day usage.

**What problems is Xero solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Xero make management of finances easy because it takes away all the grunt work such as preparing invoices, and bank reconciliation. The error rate is reduced and I save on a lot of time that I could instead invest into analysis and less time on data entry. The real time data of finances is very effective.

**What do you like best about Xero?**

The main thing that i enjoy about using Xero is it's simplicity and user-friendliness - especially as a newcomer to using this software. It's bookkeeping features are easy to navigate, the invoices can be created quickly, as well as, the bank feeds are seamless. The software saves a significant amount of time for small business and freelancers by using an effective interface that allows users to access via either mobile or desktop without feeling overwhelmed with complexity in how they use these tools.

**What do you dislike about Xero?**

There are a couple of things I would change about the program. To start, it's very complicated if you're not already comfortable with basic accounting principles, so the learning curve can be a major issue for new users. I also believe the monthly fee may be to high for many small business owners that only want a few features on their software package.

**What problems is Xero solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Xero makes it easy to manage daily finances more effectively. Automating invoices and bank reconciliation will reduce manual work and this make your job a lot easier, therefore, it will save time and give you accurate data. The ability for team members and accountants to access information from anywhere has also made it so much easier to work together and keep track of each other's finances.

Nothing so far, I am loving it so much. Everything is going smooth and no complaints so far! There are absolutely no complaints or drawbacks to report. I really appreciate Xero's ease of use and logical flow of accounting transactions, which lets me apply my accounting knowledge without needing to learn how the platform itself works. This reduces thinking time significantly, as I don't have to figure out the system's processes; I can just focus on the accounting logic. I find that financial reporting and identifying potential errors are incredibly straightforward. The initial setup was very easy and seamless, even when converting clients from other systems using Cloud Convert.

**What do you dislike about Xero?**

An integrated stock management module that can deal with more complex costing methodology and supplier and customer orders would be beneficial.

I use Xero to process accounting transactions easily and accurately. It reduces my thinking time by letting me apply my accounting knowledge directly, uncovering errors in processing and reporting effortlessly.

**What do you like best about Xero?**

Xero is straightforward to use, with an intuitive interface that makes day-to-day bookkeeping efficient and easy to manage. We also value the ability to integrate it with tools like Monday.com, which helps streamline our workflows. From a technical standpoint, we haven’t encountered any issues, and the platform performs reliably even with a high volume of transactions. Overall, we feel that we’re getting good value from the subscription, as it supports our operations effectively. We’re also starting to explore Xero’s AI features and look forward to seeing how we can maximise their potential.

**What do you dislike about Xero?**

We’ve recently noticed a change in behaviour when working with Purchase Orders and draft bills, which has impacted our workflow. Previously, we would copy approved POs into draft bills to use as placeholders as part of our process. However, this recent change disrupts our approach, as Xero now appears to treat any bill—even in draft status—as an indication that the PO has been fulfilled.

**What problems is Xero solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Xero helps streamline our workflow by acting as a central system for all accounting activities. It reduces manual work by integrating tools like Dext and Shopify, so transactions flow directly into Xero instead of being manually entered. This improves efficiency because our team and bookkeepers can work in the same system in real time—posting bills, reconciling accounts, and reviewing entries without constant back-and-forth.

**What do you like best about Xero?**

I just think Xero is super user friendly. I like that it doesn't have a lot of text and has a lot of colors. It's very emoticon-based, with only five options to choose from, which simplifies what I need. I use it specifically to submit my timesheet and organize my payroll because it's the easiest system I've ever used. It's easy to put my hours in, and if I work or train more hours, it's easy to adjust. It gives a very easy overview of my payslips, time off, leave, or anything I've paid for and need to be reimbursed for. The initial setup was super easy, and it's reliable. The automatic bank feeds, invoice features, and easy reconciliation process save a lot of time and minimize errors.

I use Xero to submit my timesheet and organize payroll. It's the easiest system I've used. It's easy to put hours in, adjust for extra work, and gives a simple overview of payslips, leave, and reimbursements.

**What do you like best about Xero?**

Ease of use, the ability to customize forms and reports. Very rarely have I had an outage with the system. I can log in from anywhere and complete my work. Inexpensive option and easier to use than Quickbooks.

**What do you dislike about Xero?**

One complaint is the inability to split invoices into multiple payment options to integrate with credit card supplier, and the inability to add a "change order" to the invoice after partial payment is applied. There are workarounds to accomplish both goals, but they are tedious.

Accessibility to my organization from anywhere, multiple logins for various stakeholders.

The interface of Xero is so easy to use, it has a streamlined approach when it comes to accounting processing. With their use of invoicing, expense management, business expense management, financial reporting, and many other features, you can manage daily processes easier. Another feature that I really like about Xero is their capability to access the software online through any computer, and the ability to link up to many of the other business tools that I already use, further simplifying my business operations.

Getting some of the more advanced features set up the first time takes a little bit of a learning curve. Some integrations and other features may have additional costs depending on business requirements.

The custom invoice feature needs me to create the template in Word doc.  I suggest have a drag and drop module so that the user does not need to grapple with field codes, etc.

Reconcillation is quick and easy and the importing of the bank statement via csv file works well.   Unfortunately, our bank does not connect with Xero for automated importing.

**What do you dislike about Xero?**

When entering expenses manually via the app with a photo I do it for the few employees (2) it is only able to designate me as the expense person when it would be good to be able to choose who the expense is done by.  The others do not do any accounts so it is left to me as a non for profit volunteer.

**What problems is Xero solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Preparing a Profit and Loss is super helpful.  I have yet to figure out how to maintain funds in certain accounts and roll them forward so that the giving for certain funds does not dissappear at the end of each financial year.

It has a good easy to use interface and all the functions are easy to find. It has a good help system to get you through using those features that are not so obvious. The import bills functions by email is really useful for me and saves a lot of time over manually entering data.

I have to spend a bit of time keeping the customer and supplier lists up to date. One downside of the bills import feature is that you can end up with two entries for suppliers if the name isn't recognised fully during the import. The merge feature that you use once this has happened to consolidate the records isn't the most intuitive and you can easily merge the records the wrong way.

It's help us keep track of bills and invoices and make sure they are paid on time.

I like how easy it is to use and how often we can rely on it. It’s a familiar tool with all the necessary features we require. It integrates seamlessly with the other services we use, like our banks. It also offers good automation options. I’ve always had a great, quick response from customer support.

To be honest, the UI could be better, as could the API endpoints and the options for using Xero through custom applications we build for our in-house needs. Hubdoc also needs additional recognition improvements, along with more rules or templates to help classify documents and automatically fill in the relevant fields. For Xero in general, I’d like to see improved graphs and more visualisation options.

I did receive an email offering to let me schedule time with support, but the earliest option was in three weeks! This company is a piece of junk.

Xero is great of how simple it makes invoicing and tracking payments. I can create and send invoices right from the platform, and clients can pay through paypal, which fit well with how i alreday run things. Matching payments to invoices is easy straightforward and i really appreciate having all my subscription and monthly expenses in one spot. The built in reports are also helpful they give me a fast snapshot of how business is doing without me having to build a bunch of spredsheeta from scratch.

It took a bit initial effort to configure everything correctly, but once it was all set up, it became much more intutive to use.

Before switching to xero, i was using one tool for invoicing and then tracking everything manually in excel and clickup, it worked, but it felt scattered and easy to mess up.  Now everything lives in one system, which saves time and reduces errors. It also gives me easier view of cash flow and help me stay organized which is essential when i am managing a business on my owm.

We are just in the beginning stages of implementation and can see the possibilities of reporting, although a lot of work are still to be done.

Some of the layouts of the reports are still difficult to understand, especially regarding Contact in general.

Because of limitations on user rights will prevent us of using Xero files exclusively, rather than having to integrate with outside programs.

I’m a freelance full-stack developer and used to track everything in spreadsheets. After about a year with Xero, I can’t imagine going back. I use it mainly for creating and sending invoices, reconciling bank transactions, and tracking expenses.
I’ve connected Stripe and PayPal so clients can pay directly from the invoice, which has definitely sped up payments. The bank feed pulls in transactions daily, and I usually spend a few minutes matching payments and categorizing expenses like software subscriptions or hosting. It’s way more organized than my old manual setup. I also check the Profit & Loss report every month to see how things are trending.

**What do you dislike about Xero?**

Some of the accounting terms still feel a bit heavy. Setting things up the way my accountant wanted took some trial and error. Occasionally, the reconciliation suggestions aren’t perfect, especially with partial payments, so I have to double-check.

For someone with no accounting experience like me, Xero really helped me understand things better and do my job better.

What I don't like is that sometimes the bank connections are hard to refresh. Also the different accesses should be revised, the person who first created the account (subscriber) is not the same as the one who now uses it everyday, and there's no way to change that.

It's solving the issue of time first and foremost, it's way faster to deal with month end finances with Xero. And now with the auto-reconcile feature, it helps even more.

I like Xero for its ability to handle all the bookkeeping issues that can arise when doing it manually. I find the automated rules incredibly helpful, along with accounting classification after reconciliation. Xero enables automated reconciliation from our ecommerce platform like Shopify, and we can keep up with expenses and client invoices seamlessly.

**What do you dislike about Xero?**

The sales part of Xero could be improved, especially with the capacity to invoice partial quotes, like a deposit on an accepted quote. For example, I sell a product that needs 8-10 months for fabrication, and I should be able to invoice 50 or 60% of the quote and the balance when the product is ready to ship. Also, during the initial setup, Xero announced a free migration, which was not true. We had to pay $300 as we had more than one year of data. Additionally, the migration did not bring 100% of the database, as no estimate was imported.

**What do you like best about Xero?**

I find Xero incredibly easy to manage, especially for reconciling my bank accounts. It allows me to match and categorize my outgoings without hassle. I also really like the mileage recording activity, which is quite handy. Uploading receipts directly into the app by taking a photo from my phone makes it super easy to get things in the system while I'm on the go. The initial setup of Xero was incredibly easy, very simple to just set up and go.

**What do you dislike about Xero?**

I was a bit confused by the expenses if I'm creating an expense for a contractor, for example, or to make a payment to a different business that I was in initiating. I tried to add the contractor, and then, it wouldn't let me save because the contractor hadn't previously been entered in the system. And then I have to authorize, but it wouldn't let me authorize that. And I seem to end up going back and forth between screens just to get this person in the system. And all I wanted to do was list it as an expense so that I could pay it.

**What problems is Xero solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Xero makes it easy to manage bank account reconciliation by matching and categorizing expenses. I like being able to upload receipts via photo, which ensures they don't get lost or forgotten.

**What do you like best about Xero?**

I liked how simple and clean the dashboard felt, making it easy to navigate between invoices, reports, and expense tracking. I also appreciated the cloud-based access because it made the platform easy to use from different devices. The initial setup was fairly simple, with the dashboard onboarding steps being easy to follow, allowing me to explore the main features without much difficulty. My experience during the trial was positive overall. The platform was easy to use and good for managing invoices and accounting tasks.

Some advanced settings and reporting sections were a little confusing at first and took time to understand. I also noticed that new useful features seem to be available only in higher plans.

**What do you like best about Xero?**

I use Xero as the accounting software for my S Corp because it makes it easy for me to track financial transactions in a true accounting package. I love that Xero is very user-friendly, especially compared to Quickbooks which I found confusing. I haven't had any issues since I started using it, and what I like most is that it's user-friendly, and it's very easy to modify and view reports. The initial setup was relatively easy, and I don't remember any problems.

**What do you dislike about Xero?**

Sometimes I get purchase orders from clients and would like a way to upload them and then create my invoices against client POs. This may be a feature of a higher-level plan that I'm not currently subscribed to. But it's not a critical feature for me.

**What problems is Xero solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Xero makes tracking financial transactions easy with a user-friendly accounting package. Unlike Quickbooks, it's not confusing. It's also simple to modify and view reports.

**What do you like best about Xero?**

I like how Xero is user friendly, even business start-ups or individuals who has no prior experience with cloud-based accounting can easily navigate and use. Also, the dashboard keeps track of the overall performance, and entering bills saves me time. It is reliable when inputting data and it's easy to integrate with other tools, especially the available Excel templates. On the other hand, Xero's pricing plan is flexible which makes it accessible for many. Its customer service is convenient, and I would prefer a real time agent would talk it through. Also, the AI tool JAX helped me in making invoices, and so I could only review it anytime.

**What do you dislike about Xero?**

I would prefer the AI tool JAX to be more accurate in terms of reconciling items. That's one aspect to be improved. Also, in making invoices, I'd suggest bringing back the "attention" option. In terms of the customer support, I hope reaching out to a real time agent is the main recourse, as it would help new users or users in general in attending to their queries.

**What problems is Xero solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before using Xero, we were manually inputting data in spreadsheets. Now, our integration with Xero saved time and resources, resulting in a centralized and efficient bookkeeping system. Also, I'd like to highlight how the platform is secure with data management. The authentication adds up to its reliability.

Xero’s biggest strength is how intuitive and clean the platform is. The interface is easy to navigate, making daily bookkeeping and month-end work straightforward. What I like best—something I haven’t found on other platforms—is the ability to fully customize account transaction reports. You can select exactly which columns to display, filter, toggle options on and off, and group or summarize transactions by any category you need. This makes it easy to generate reports that actually answer specific questions, saving time and making book review much more efficient.

**What do you dislike about Xero?**

The main area I’d like Xero to improve is the search feature. Right now, searching for specific transactions can be limited. I hope that in the future, Xero will enhance the search bar to include bank transaction details, so you can quickly find any specific transaction without extra steps.

As an accountant managing multiple clients, I’ve found Xero to be a true game-changer. It streamlines bookkeeping across different businesses and keeps everything organized in one place, making it much easier to stay on top of each client’s records. It is stable and reliable, and I am able to do what I need to do.  As I expand the footprint that we use, the new features can be enabled without much research, training or complex configuration.  Everything seems to work as advertised.

Nothing comes to mind.  There has really never been a 'pain point' in our use of Xero.

Our organization is small but complex.  We have three main programs, numerous projects within each one, and many overlapping grants.  We are able to track and account for all of these things using the chart of account and reporting codes.

**What do you like best about Xero?**

Simple design interface that is easy to understand and navigate.  Everything works as expected and in some cases even better.  Anytime I've reached out to support with a question it has been answered promptly and usually with only corresponding one time and not multiple times.

**What do you dislike about Xero?**

The only issue I have is bank feeds.  Constant issues with bank feeds.  I'm glad we have a myriad of options with Xero on importing bank data and we don't have to do much to get the bank info - BUT offering it and then half the banks don't connect or work is a hassle.

**What problems is Xero solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Not sure how to answer this question.  I mean we need accounting software to stay on top of our business finances and after working with many, many other accounting programs, I prefer Xero because it's easier to work with than the others.  If you have a business, then we all have the same problems, we need to keep up with our finances.  We are not overly complicated with invoicing and collecting payments so I imagine some would say a good accounting program could help solve collecting payments due and reducing past-due issues, but that's not our case.  In summary, I would just say that Xero resolved the headache that QBO gave me!

It's so fast and streamlined, loading times are short, you can easily dig into the accounts and adjust your view to show exactly what you need (or what you didn't know you needed until you found the option to view it!). The reconciliation process is delightful, tracking down errors is easy. It's just, a breath of fresh air to use.

**What do you dislike about Xero?**

If you forget to open a link in a new tab, you'll probably go down a rabbit hole and lose whatever view you were working from and then have to track your way back to it, which is sometimes annoying. Date selection for some reports is a bit clunky (better than it used to be, but still, the drop downs are finicky sometimes). The transaction line limit for imports is needlessly small (300 lines for a JE import last time I checked).

It's speeding up bank recs, it's streamlining expense recognition and invoicing.

Xero makes day to day accounting work simple, creating invoices, tracking payments, and managing expenses is very easy. the dashboard gives a clear picture of cash flow and account balances. bank reconciliation saves a lot of time compared to manual work. the interface is clean and not confusing. it is easy to collaborate with other team members and accountants, overall it helps keep financial data accurate and up to date. we use it daily in our workflow, also the customer support is very helping, they resolve the problem instantly.

one thing i dislike is limited customization  in some reports , for detailed financial analysis, extra adjustments are needed, inventory management is basic and need integration for advance use, pricing can be a bit high for small companies.

The best thing about xero is its simple and clean interface. even someone new to accounting software can understand it easily. bank reconciliation is excellent and saves a lot of manual effort by matching transactions automatically. the dashboard gives a clear overview of cash position, outstanding invoices, and upcoming bills. invoicing is very smooth, and invoices can be shared directly with customer via email. being cloud based i can access data anytime without depending on office systems. the integration is reliable for document sharing and communication. I use it daily for creating and tracking sales invoices, recording expenses ,  monitoring cash flow ,reconciling bank transactions etc.

some advance reporting features are limited , especially when detailed financial analysis is required, customising reports is not very flexible and sometimes data needs to be exported to excel for further analysis, pricing can also be slightly high for small business additionally, some workflows still require manual checks, especially for complex transactions.

earlier most of our accounting work was done using spreadsheets and emails, which caused confusions , duplicate entries, and delays in tracking payments, Xero solved this problems by bringing all financial data into one central systems, now invoices, expenses and bank transactions are updated in real time . this has reduced manual errors, improved accuracy and saves a lot of time in daily finance work. it also help me respond quickly to payment related queries from vendors and internal teams. it improved financial disciple and visibility across the organizations . management now has better control over cash flow and outstanding payments.

The interface of this tool is so clean that accounting doesn’t feel like a chore anymore. I love how it handles bank reconciliations – it gives me suggestions to match, so most days I’m just clicking "OK" to keep current. It’s cloud-based, so I can see my cash flow on my phone wherever I am.

The cost has been creeping up lately, which is a problem for a small business. Also, the reporting is a little inflexible – if you want a very specific, customized view, you may find yourself exporting to Excel to get it just right.

I use Xero for my accounting for my small business and truly like its ease of use. I appreciate the integration with Hubdoc because it makes capturing invoices simple. I also find the bank reconciliation feature particularly useful, as it is quite easy to reconcile entries on the online platform. Additionally, invoicing to my clients is also quite easy. The initial setup of Xero was very easy.

**What do you dislike about Xero?**

I think the app lacks functionality. There's a lot more that needs to be done, made available to be done on the app. Same with Hubdoc, you can only view your invoices, but you can't really process. So I would like to see big overhauls to functionality for both Hubdoc and the Xero app. When you use the app on your cell phone or tablet, you should be able to do a lot more. Right now, you get a very surface level view, and even the reports are very, very limited.

I use Xero for accounting in my small business, helping with invoicing, business management, understanding creditors, and financial reports.

I've always liked the Xero interface better than QBO. It's clean, modern and easy to customize. QBO is stuck in the last century. Xero integrates well with major banks and updates quickly. The price is right too. Less than $100/month for our business.

**What do you dislike about Xero?**

One complaint is that Xero doesn't notify me automatically when bank feeds have been updated, and most times, I must initiate a bank sync manually. Also, if you have multiple card numbers under one account, don't sync them separately. Keep only the main card number. All cards will sync to Xero under that account.

**What problems is Xero solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Simple, easy and quick bookkeeping. Automatic syncing and reconciliation of bank accounts, and easy-to-read reports. Reports can be customized easily.

What I appreciate about Xero is how it simplifies everyday accounting without making the software feel overwhelming. The bank feeds automatically import transactions, which makes reconciliation much faster and easier.

**What do you dislike about Xero?**

while xero is capable overall there are a few areas it can improve like some advanced features take time to learn especially if you are new to the accounting software although xero integrates well with many third party applications but many of these require seperate subscriptions which can increase the overall cost. i would also want built in customization options for invoices and reports so that i dont have to rely on external ad ons.

**What problems is Xero solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has automated our accounting. Before using Xero, there was a lot of manual work across spreadsheets, emails, and paper records, which increased the risk of errors during reconciliation and was also very time taking. Xero has centralized our banking/accounting in one platform which makes it easier to manage invoices, expenses and cashflows.

Xero has a very user friendly interface and it was easy to learn, not having used any prior site.  It makes bookkeeping a lot easier integrates well with my Amazon store.  The pricing is reasonable and has not increased a lot over the ten years that I have used it. On the few occasions that I have needed support, I have had a quick reply.

**What do you dislike about Xero?**

I tend to be a creature of habit so initially I did not like the new home page set up but after forcing myself to use it for the last two weeks, I'm getting used to it.

**What problems is Xero solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With the help of A2X, I import all of my Amazon statements into Xero and it makes the bookkeeping process easy.  I don't have to input all of the complicated info that is on the Amazon statements manually.
