You don't have to search, just let X1 search for you. And a very good after sales support. I use the application for more then 10 years, and it's great! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
nothing! The application is perfect for me, and no remarks Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Is fast and can scan files and provide excellent results in seconds. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
X1 does not work with OneDrive. Sadly, X1 has designed their product to require a constant and consistent internet connection that persists for hours without any interruptions. This type of connection is impossible on todays internet, even over direct, fiber connection like our firm's. Moreover, X1 makes a separate request to OneDrive servers for each and every file that OneDrive holds, ONE AT A TIME--making an initial index creation almost impossible. I have worked with X1 support for 10 months on this issue, but they refuse, or are not capable, of redesigning the product. The issue arises because if a user has more than a couple of thousand files no initial index can be created. Our firm has about 200k files and while all local files are indexed properly, OneDrive in the cloud will never be indexed by X1. Hence, X1 is not compatible with X1 and their OneDrive data source claim is at best only partially true, or a fantasy. It's sad because X1 is such a great product, but they have not kept up the migration into the cloud for documents. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It works. As long as you remember just a few details about a long-lost file, you can find it. I have been able to find stuff from literally 20 years ago with X1 Search. I literally use it every day. The pathetic indexing system of Windows 10 is totally inadequate by comparison. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing to dislike, really - I've had a few bug problems here and there, always quickly resolved by contacting tech support (at no cost). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I've found X1 useful for finding email. It supports search by subject, sender, recipient, date range, but most importantly, by text within the body of the message. It's also proved extremely helpful in finding files, again supporting search by title, type, date-range and text in the document, including pdf. This can be a life-saver.
But the reason I'm writing this review is to note the extraordinary response to a support question that I received from X1 Customer Care Representative Chris Wheaton. He provided an explanation of why my problem was occurring, and the remedy. He did this in a remarkably clear and helpful way. He then went on to provide recommendations about configuration changes that would benefit me (I'd send a zip produced by X1's diagnostic tool). He outshone any support person I've worked with previously. Hat's off! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Only a few quibbles: It would be nice if the application remembered the widths to which I'd set the columns; I haven't been able to find a way to filter for attachments in general without specifying a particular type of attachment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Finds documents or emails like lightning, wherever they are, based on a few keywords.
Nicely highlights the words I'm looking for within the document previews.
Very intuititive GUI.
Fantastic support offered whenever I have issues with installation/deinstallation - very thorough responses and a very quick turnaround, despite the time-zone difference.
Have not needed help using the tool for searching yet, as it is very easy to use Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Does not run on Macintosh, which my wife has to use Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It's an incredibly fast search program with high-quality advanced search conditionals that helps me index all of my data. Now I can find anything in my files. Nothing else currently on the market compares. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wish that it could also search chat and note-taking software like Slack and Otter. Then it would be truly comprehensive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
the speed, the multiple sources that can be indexed in a single product, the automatic highlighting within the files, use it for File System searches as well as Outlook and multiple mail accounts, sharepoint, onedrive box Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
cached emails that no longer exist but have been indexed still appear on search results, which is great but upon attempting to open them you can't load the content Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
An incredible piece of software. Better than a private Google search but with superb support. I have been using it for more than ten years. I have maintained indexed all my emails, my paper works, and all documents since almost the beginning of the millennium. My work performance would be badly affected without X1 Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
when I try and look into large documents, sometimes it gets stuck for a while, especially when it is indexing Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
