"All-in-One Financial Reporting and Approvals with Real-Time Visibility"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Workday Financial Management?

I like having financial data, reporting, and approvals all in one place. It saves time and improves visibility. The software makes it easy to access real-time financial information for better decision-making. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Workday Financial Management?

The biggest drawback is the cost. Workday Financial Management is a powerful platform, but the licensing, implementation, and ongoing support expenses can be difficult to justify, especially for smaller organizations. While the functionality is strong, the total cost of ownership can be significantly higher than many competing solutions Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Workday Financial Management?

The main drawback is the initial learning curve, particularly for users unfamiliar with Workday's approach to financial management and reporting. "Enhanced Budget Visibility, Complex Setup"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Workday Financial Management?

I genuinely appreciate the budget visibility feature of Workday Financial Management because it allows us to check where a department or project stands against its budget instantly, without having to wait on a report from finance. This immediate access is crucial for making confident operational decisions day to day. I also like the consistency with Workday HCM since having financial and HR data in the same environment reduces context switching and connects people and cost data in a way that's very useful for resourcing decisions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Workday Financial Management?

The reporting interface is probably the biggest frustration. Building custom reports requires more technical familiarity with the platform than most operational users have, and getting exactly the view you need often means either learning Workday's reporting logic in some depth or relying on someone in finance to set it up for you. For a tool that is supposed to give teams more self-service visibility that dependency is a bit contradictory. The interface more generally feels dense in places. Navigating to specific functions or finding the right workflow for a less frequent task takes more effort than it should, and for team members who are not in the platform regularly there is a relearning overhead that slows things down. It is a capable platform but the user experience in certain areas feels like it was built for power users rather than the broader operational audience that ends up needing to use it. The implementation had a steep learning curve and there were points where we needed external support to get certain workflows configured correctly. Even after go live there was a period of refinement where things were not quite working as expected and required adjustments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"All-in-One Financial Management in One Place"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Workday Financial Management?

I love how it brings everything together in one place. Instead of juggling separate systems for accounting, procurement, and reporting, you get a single source of truth. It really feels like everything is all under one roof. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Workday Financial Management?

I dislike Workday Financial Management because its rigid, opinionated processes force companies to adapt to the software instead of the software adapting to them. In particular, I really hate the clunky journal entry structure and the frustrating Excel integration. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Boosts Financial Efficiency with Real-Time Insights"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Workday Financial Management?

I really like Workday Financial Management's user-friendly interface and real-time reporting capabilities. It makes accessing financial data and managing approvals efficient. I appreciate the automation features that reduce manual work and boost accuracy. Its centralized system helps our teams collaborate better, and the customizable dashboards make tracking important KPIs simple. Overall, it supports quicker and informed financial decision-making. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Workday Financial Management?

One area that could be improved in Workday Financial Management is the system’s learning curve for new users, as some features and configurations can initially feel complex. Certain reports and customization options may also require additional training or technical support. At times, the platform can feel slightly slow when handling large data sets or generating detailed reports. Improving flexibility in customization and making some workflows more intuitive would further enhance the overall user experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlined AP Workflows with Powerful Reporting"
4/5
What do you like best about Workday Financial Management?

I had used Workday Financial Management to manage the full accounts payable cycle, including processing invoices, approvals, vendor management, payment tracking, and reporting. I also monitored team productivity, resolved invoice discrepancies, and generated reports in real time. The thing I liked the most is its user-friendly interface and the visibility it provides into the entire accounts payable process. For me, the ability to access financial data quickly and generate reports on demand has been extremely useful. The interface makes it easier for both new and experienced team members to navigate the system with minimal training. The real-time reporting is especially valuable because it gives immediate visibility into AP activity and financial data without waiting for manual updates or separate report generation. I can quickly identify bottlenecks, monitor outstanding invoices, and track team workload to support month-end close activities more effectively. Additionally, it's a strong financial management platform with excellent workflow automation, reporting capabilities, and visibility into financial operations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Workday Financial Management?

One challenge is that certain workflow can feel overly complex, especially when handling exception or non-standard invoices. Also the reporting function is powerful, but creating highly customized report can have a learning curve and may require additional training for users who are not familiar with the system. "Modern UI Simplifies Procurement, Needs More Customization"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Workday Financial Management?

I like using Workday Financial Management for streamlining the procurement process, as it means we don't have to handle requests through emails or documents directly. Instead, the use of formal channels in Workday simplifies the process. The UI is a big plus for me as it's much more modern compared to what we used before. I also appreciate the suggested prefilled fields and the configuration options available, allowing different users to see only the relevant fields they need. This customization really helps in reducing complexity, especially for those who aren't directly working in procurement. The guide feature is also quite useful, assisting people in filling out the necessary details like cost codes and centers. Overall, it's a more straightforward and modern tool fitting well with our other software solutions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Workday Financial Management?

There could be more flexibility to have more custom fields. In our business, it all gets quite complicated, but we have to fit into a relatively rigid system. The fields you can customize are relatively constrained, and a bit more flexibility would be helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Comprehensive and Robust for Large Enterprises"
4/5
What do you like best about Workday Financial Management?

I really appreciate the drill-down capability in Workday Financial Management. It's a huge time-saver because I can click through a high-level reconciliation balance directly to individual invoices or journal lines without having to jump between different systems. It streamlines the Record to Report workflow and keeps audit trails centralized and cloud-based. Workday eliminates the nightmare of version control and manual data matching that spreadsheets bring during period-end close. It's a single source of truth that standardizes the reconciliation process, handles high-volume transactions automatically, and attaches audit trails directly to journal entries. I also find the advanced, real-time reporting features and automated journal creation very useful. Plus, as a cloud-native platform, it's fast and accessible no matter where the team is working. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Workday Financial Management?

The interface can feel a bit rigid sometimes, especially when you are first learning where everything lives. Setting up custom automated reconciliation rules or pulling very specific, non-standard reports can be a bit clunky and usually requires some trial and error to get the logic exactly right. It’s a powerful tool if you handle heavy reconciliation volumes, but make sure your team invests in proper training upfront to understand the data logic, otherwise, navigation can feel overwhelming at first. The initial setup was a pretty heavy lift. From an RTR perspective, the biggest challenge was the data mapping phase. Setting up the automated reconciliation rules and getting the matching logic exactly right also required a lot of trial and error. There was definitely a steep learning curve for the team initially, and it required a lot of change management and training. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlines Financial Management with Room for Payment Integration"
4/5
What do you like best about Workday Financial Management?

I love that Workday Financial Management is an all-in-one space where I can keep track of everything without having to manage multiple accounts. It's not a one-trick pony but performs multiple tasks like submitting payments, tracking funds, requesting time off, or hiring a new employee all from one spot, without having to navigate through multiple pages. Although the initial setup was tricky since it was something new, now it's super easy to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Workday Financial Management?

I wish there was a way to take credit card payments with Workday Financial Management. We have to use Touchnet and then enter it manually into Workday. For checks and cash it's similar but that makes sense. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
