## Workday Adaptive Planning Reviews
 ### 1. Streamlines Budgeting and Forecasting with Real-Time Collaboration

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ram K. | Senior Staffing Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday Adaptive Planning?**

What I like most about Workday Adaptive Planning is how it makes budgeting and forecasting much easier without relying on endless spreadsheets. The interface is clean and user-friendly, so it's easy for both finance and business teams to build plans, create reports, and collaborate. I also like how well it integrates with ERP, HR, and other business systems, giving everyone access to accurate, real-time data in one place. The platform performs well even with large datasets, which helps speed up planning cycles and improves forecasting accuracy. While it's a significant investment, the time savings, automation, and better decision-making provide a strong return over time. Workday also offers helpful onboarding resources and responsive support, making implementation and ongoing use much smoother. The AI-powered forecasting and planning features are another big advantage, as they help identify trends and generate more reliable forecasts. Overall, Workday Adaptive Planning is a powerful solution that helps organizations plan more efficiently, collaborate better, and adapt quickly as business needs change.

**What do you dislike about Workday Adaptive Planning?**

While Workday Adaptive Planning offers many benefits, it also has some drawbacks. The platform can be expensive, especially for smaller organizations, and implementation often requires significant time, planning, and training. New users may face a learning curve due to the platform's advanced features and customization options. In some cases, creating complex reports or models can require specialized knowledge, and organizations that only have simple budgeting needs may find the system more powerful than necessary. Additionally, the quality of forecasts and reports depends heavily on the accuracy of the data being entered and maintained.

**What problems is Workday Adaptive Planning solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workday Adaptive Planning solves common challenges such as relying on disconnected spreadsheets, time-consuming budgeting processes, limited visibility into business performance, and difficulty creating accurate forecasts. By bringing planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting into a single platform, it helps teams work more efficiently and collaborate more effectively. This results in faster planning cycles, improved data accuracy, better visibility into financial and operational performance, and the ability to make more informed decisions based on real-time information.

 ### 2. Flexible and Intuitive Budgeting Tool for Mid to Large Organizations

I like Workday Adaptive Planning's flexibility and ease of use, which allows me to build detailed planning models while still being intuitive enough for business users. The ability to automate reporting, perform scenario analysis quickly, and collaborate across teams in a centralized platform saves time and improves decision making. The flexibility helps me quickly adapt planning models as business needs change. Automation improves data accuracy and eliminates repetitive tasks. Overall, it provides better visibility into business performance and supports more informed decision making.

**What do you dislike about Workday Adaptive Planning?**

Building complex models and troubleshooting are areas that could be improved. Better customization options for reports would be helpful. The dashboard needs better intuitive customization, and guidance for new users could be improved. Advanced visualization options and faster performance when working with large models would also be beneficial.

 ### 3. Workday Adaptive Planning: A Game-Changer for Unified Finance and HR Project Planning

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Claudia S. | Customer Service Administrator, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 25, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday Adaptive Planning?**

We use Workday Adaptive planning for budget resource management and talent placement planning for the S4HANA project- it has been a game changer. It combines finance data with HR data all in one place without either finance or HR having to get data from offline.

**What do you dislike about Workday Adaptive Planning?**

Maybe the one thing I’d call out is the limited opportunities in terms of reporting on dates. As we’re working on a project, reporting and data availability is the key. However, we had to make some sacrifices in terms on what we can report on and how we use dashboards.

**What problems is Workday Adaptive Planning solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It’s solving a massive problem of having to maintain multiple Excels based on budget ownership, password protected sheets which then have to be consolidated each month for month end. It is bringing actual of project employees, and using LCR tables built in the background to allow accurate cost planning. On top, it’s allowing us to bring talent data into Adaptive, to share the overall talent landscape of all project employees to the business and other stakeholders within the program.

 ### 4. Workday Adaptive Planning: Replaces Spreadsheets with Scalable, Collaborative Forecasting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Seth B. | logistics administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday Adaptive Planning?**

Workday Adaptive Planning is most valued for replacing complex spreadsheets with a flexible, collaborative planning platform. Its key strengths are driver-based forecasting, scenario planning, real-time reporting, and scalability, making it easier for finance teams to create accurate forecasts and adapt quickly to changing business needs.

**What do you dislike about Workday Adaptive Planning?**

Workday Adaptive Planning is often criticized for its learning curve, complex setup, and relatively high cost. Some users also report performance slowdowns with large models and find its reporting and advanced modeling capabilities less flexible than specialized analytics tools.

**What problems is Workday Adaptive Planning solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workday Adaptive Planning helps solve challenges with manual budgeting, spreadsheet-based planning, and slow financial reporting. By centralizing planning, automating forecasts, and enabling real-time collaboration, it improves accuracy, speeds up reporting, and helps teams make faster, more informed business decisions.

 ### 5. Efficient and flexible solution for financial planning and forecasting

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dharamveer p. | Application Security Engineer, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday Adaptive Planning?**

What I like best about Workday Adaptive Planning is how it simplifies financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting in one place. It provides a clear and structured way to manage data, and the real time updates make collaboration across teams much easier. I also like the flexibility in building models and reports, which helps in adapting to different business requirements without too much complexity.

**What do you dislike about Workday Adaptive Planning?**

What I dislike about Workday Adaptive Planning is that it can take time to fully understand and configure, especially for new users. Some advanced features require a learning curve, and initial setup can feel a bit complex if you are not familiar with planning tools.

**What problems is Workday Adaptive Planning solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workday Adaptive Planning solves the problem of manual and disconnected financial planning processes. Instead of relying on spreadsheets, it brings everything into a centralized system, reducing errors and improving data accuracy. For me, it helps in making faster and more informed decisions, improves collaboration, and saves time by automating repetitive planning tasks.

 ### 6. Streamline Planning, but with a Learning Curve

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jorge Miguel M. | Brand, Content & Strategy Lead | POINT, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 06, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday Adaptive Planning?**

I like Workday Adaptive Planning because it helps me solve financial planning problems and detect significant variations in income, expenses, and costs, which makes it easier for me to make decisions more quickly. It allows me to centralize data and create scenarios, generating organized reports for the management of all involved areas. It also helps me solve problems of financial information scattered across various files and areas. The platform helps eliminate manual errors and improves the tracking of variations, facilitating the preparation of reports for optimal decision-making.

**What do you dislike about Workday Adaptive Planning?**

It feels a bit intuitive at first, especially for those who come from primarily working in Excel. The learning curve can be steep for Workday Adaptive Planning, especially in reporting functions, scenarios, and configurations that are not so intuitive at the beginning. It is necessary to understand well how the model is built to make the most of it, and although the initial implementation is well organized, it can become complicated to make adjustments or find certain data quickly.

**What problems is Workday Adaptive Planning solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Workday Adaptive Planning to support financial planning processes, organize my financial information, detect variations in income, expenses, and costs. It helps me centralize data and create organized reports, improving decision-making and eliminating manual errors.

**What do you like best about Workday Adaptive Planning?**

I use Workday Adaptive Planning for my practice's budget planning. It's super easy to use, and the AI features for analyzing numbers make my life so much easier as I'm not generally a numbers person. The AI is able to calculate all logistics with money going in and out and truly helps plan our budget. We're able to allocate funds exactly where they need to be by knowing exactly where everything is going at the click of a button. Additionally, setting it up was super easy; it only took a few days for my team to get settled with using it. I also love it so much that I'd rate it a 10/10!

**What do you dislike about Workday Adaptive Planning?**

There isn't anything that I don't like about this product!

I find Workday Adaptive Planning easily handles budget planning and analyzes issues in reports. The AI calculates logistics, helping allocate funds accurately and making it easy for non-numbers people like me.

 ### 8. Powerful, Intuitive Financial Modeling with Strong Integrations and Clear ROI

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aditi P. | HR Coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday Adaptive Planning?**

Workday Adaptive Planning shines brightest where its powerful performance meets an intuitive UI/UX, making complex financial modeling feel surprisingly accessible. The platform seamlessly bridges data silos through robust integrations, driving an undeniable ROI that justifies the investment far beyond traditional budgeting tools. Backed by solid onboarding support and increasingly smart AI capabilities, it transforms what used to be a tedious forecasting grind into an efficient, collaborative, and forward-looking experience.

**What do you dislike about Workday Adaptive Planning?**

While Workday Adaptive Planning is powerful, users often find its steep pricing and complex onboarding support difficult to justify for smaller teams. Performance can occasionally lag during heavy calculations, and setting up advanced integrations often requires significant technical effort. Additionally, its AI and predictive intelligence features still feel somewhat basic compared to newer, more agile competitors on the market.

**What problems is Workday Adaptive Planning solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workday Adaptive Planning solves data fragmentation and slow forecasting by offering robust integrations and powerful performance that handle heavy data models seamlessly. Coupled with intuitive UI/UX and growing AI intelligence, it eliminates manual errors and accelerates decision-making, delivering a massive ROI. ### 9. Streamlined Budgeting with Room for Improvement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amit Z. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday Adaptive Planning?**

I use Workday Adaptive Planning for budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting activities. I appreciate how the platform helps me create and manage budgets, update forecasts based on changing business conditions, and analyze financial performance against targets. I find the dashboards and reports useful for tracking key metrics, identifying trends, and providing insights to stakeholders. I like how Workday Adaptive Planning eliminates spreadsheet version control issues and centralizes budgeting and forecasting data into a single platform. I enjoy that it improves forecast accuracy by enabling rolling forecasts and updating assumptions based on real-time business performance. I appreciate that it reduces the time required for budget preparation and consolidation by automating data collection and calculations. I enjoy working with Workday Adaptive Planning because it streamlines tasks like budgeting and forecasting. I like how it automates many manual processes that I used to do in spreadsheets, which reduces errors and saves time. The platform's reporting and dashboard features allow me to quickly access meaningful insights and support better decision-making.

**What do you dislike about Workday Adaptive Planning?**

There were few areas that could be improved. Like advanced model building, configuration tasks required specialized knowledge, which could make the learning curve steep for new users. I also found certain reporting and dashboard customization were not always flexible, especially when creating highly specific layouts. Additionally, large or complex models could sometimes experience slower performance during calculation or data refreshes.

**What problems is Workday Adaptive Planning solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Workday Adaptive Planning to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting activities, centralizing data to eliminate spreadsheet issues, automate tasks, reduce human error, and improve forecast accuracy by updating based on real-time performance.

 ### 10. Streamlined HR Processes but Clunky Navigation

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Darijo L. | Mr., Internet, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday Adaptive Planning?**

I like how Workday Adaptive Planning consolidates all my HR needs into one login, which means I don't have to deal with separate systems for time tracking, PTO requests, expenses, and HR forms. It's great to have everything centralized, from pay statements and PTO balances to benefits info and unreleased history, all available through self-service, saving me the hassle of opening tickets with HR just to check my vacation balance. The tool keeps approvals on track with an audit trail, removing the need for spreadsheets or emails for approvals, and there's no delay in reimbursements thanks to its structured workflows. This ensures that expenses and requests move smoothly through the pipeline without stalling in someone's inbox. As someone who spends a lot of time with customers, I appreciate how Workday keeps administrative overhead minimal, so those tasks don't eat into my day.

**What do you dislike about Workday Adaptive Planning?**

I would say maybe navigation and discoverability is a bit of an issue. It's not major, but finding specific tasks often requires too many clicks, so you end up memorizing paths rather than continually finding things. A better global search or a recent actions panel would definitely help. The app is functional but clunky now. Quick tasks like logging time or approving a request should be faster and mobile-friendly for someone who's often away from their desk. Definitely, there are too many steps for simple changes like correcting the time entry, submitting an expense, or modifying a time-off request, involving more screens and confirmations than it should. The terminology can be confusing, and naming isn't so intuitive. Notifications can be easy to miss. Usual issues occur as well, like loading speed; sometimes these pages feel really slow in loading.

**What problems is Workday Adaptive Planning solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workday Adaptive Planning consolidates tools for time tracking, PTO requests, expenses, and HR forms into one login. It automates approval workflows and provides self-service for checking benefits and balances, reducing admin load and avoiding delays. This streamlines my tasks, enabling more focus on customer interactions.
