"I setup WordPress sites for freelance clients and so can you"
What do you like best about WordPress.org?

The most significant advantageous selling point for WordPress that I can have come across is making sites for those who want to manage the site after the initial development is complete.

As long as you set up a copy of a theme rather than use a theme directly, it will never update past its initial setup, and you don't need to worry about a customer calling frantic and probably angrily at their site being down.

However, I haven't answered how the client can handle their site management after completing the initial development work. Well, WordPress has a fantastic visual editor, which you can choose from as well as plugins to handle most work the client needs without them needing to know any code or an idea of how it works. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about WordPress.org?

Some themes can be picky, and you only tend to find out after some initial work has already started. WordPress has this as a byproduct of not all themes being created equal and going through themes with clients, especially those who don't want to add additional fees to their site development by paying for premium themes that match what they are looking for aesthetically. Wordpress is beginner friendly. I recommend it to others because I know ALMOST anyone can successfully get their site up and running quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about WordPress.org?

I regularly get alerts that my plugins fail. Sometimes on a page that only has an "under construction" page up. I feel like the developers could find better ways to keep that from being an issue Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"No Hassle Web Hosting"
What do you like best about WordPress.org?

WordPress.org has become one of the most popular website building platforms in the world. What is most helpful about WordPress.org is the exclusive control and customization potential. The upsides of using WordPress.org are that it is a free, open-source software but yet you own your website. With the platform, you can customize your site how you want it by changing the theme, adding custom WordPress plugins and unique apps. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about WordPress.org?

With the endless benefits of using a self-hosted WordPress.org site, the downsides to using WordPress.org are that you will need to acquire your own domain name if you have not done so already and you are responsible for setting up your own web hosting. WordPress.org will not do this for you. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Fantastic"
What do you like best about WordPress.org?

I like that they have a lot of information and that you can find the information really easily. It is accessible for so many different people. I also love how easy it is to create your own website and how easy it is to create your own blog. They have a lot of templetes which makes it really easy for people that do not have a lot of experience creating your own website or blog. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about WordPress.org?

The only thing that I dont like is that anyone can add info and it is not always accurate. Anyone can create a site and it might not be accurate information. Sometimes I struggle to figure out how to customize my website so that it does not look like all the other websites that are created through word press. I would like to have the ability to customize a little bit more than what is currently on there. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Wordpress is a very viable cms"
What do you like best about WordPress.org?

Wordpress has a lot of extra modules that are not part of the "standard" wordpress distribution, but are either commercial or community developed, in order to extend the functionality and usability of it. It's really a good example of a community building a platform rather than a platform building a community. I really like the fact that it's all open-source, and that I can modify things. For example, I currently use WooCommerce for both regular online retail store hosting, which is fine, because it does all of the things I need it to do with "regular" retail customers. Because WP is all open source, I have modified it so that it behaves slightly differently for customers who are retail stores, but their inventory and products change too quickly to keep up with pricing & availability, so I have edited the code to turn on or off just certain features that they need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about WordPress.org?

Unfortunately, human nature being what it is, it seems like there is a cottage industry throughout the world of people developing specific hacks against wordpress. It's not as well known for security because it's so prolific and it is not hard to accidentally deploy it in an insecure fashion. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
