Its founders have been designing decorative luminaires and engineering technical lighting since 2004. They produced more than 80 million lights over the past 14 years, including some of the very first LED bulbs and recessed downlights. ## WiZ Reviews ### 1. Good CSPM for visibility **Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2023 **What do you like best about WiZ?** When you have a multi-cloud infrastructure and you're needing better visibility across most of them, especially when they are different cloud providers. I like the dashboards and reporting features. **What do you dislike about WiZ?** One of the downsides that I didn't discover until we really needed it happened back when the Log4J/Log4Shell vulnerability was destroying the internet: We had Wiz deployed in our environments in both production and stage. We were frantically searching our entire infrastructure to discover java vulnerabilities. Wiz was coming up empty on several servers we knew were running java servlets and apps. Turns out, out-of-the-box, Wiz does not scan core directories in linux. /opt, /, /bin, /tmp, /var are all BYPASSED by the scanning to keep the latency down. To turn this on, you have to contact support, not able to do this from the admin settings. This was a huge loss of confidence for us. **What problems is WiZ solving and how is that benefiting you?** Discovering vulnerabilities across multiple cloud infrastructures as well as configuration changes and "tripwires" for when something gets spun up that is a security concern. ### 2. No need for a separate hub, all I needed to do was put the light bulbs in, download the app, and go through the setup process. End result: very fast setup of a smart lighting solution. **What do you dislike about WiZ?** Individual items once set up cannot be changed to a different location without a complete reset of the item in question. Also, the app being the basis for it, if it goes down as it did recently, the smart home assistants can't control the lighting, making it very annoying if it has an outage. Another point, the app does not allow for resetting and recreating a smart home, and instead if the user wants to redo things, they must start a new home, starting everything from scratch. **What problems is WiZ solving and how is that benefiting you?** WiZ provides a very easy-to-setup solution for a smart home. I currently have a hybrid setup at home, using both WiZ smart bulbs and traditional ones, with everything being controlled by a hybrid combination of AI assistants. I only wish that WiZ would have a UV black light bulb available. The Hue set is incredible with its color possibilities. ### 3. Lights on, lights off **Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Entertainment | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2022 **What do you like best about WiZ?** I love that I can control all the lights in my house with one app. I can control the lights in my children's rooms or turn the lights on or off without getting up. **What do you dislike about WiZ?** Sometimes the lights are not the setting I had last. I'm not sure where the lights are getting that information. There are times when I want to turn the lights on at at the wall and there is a delay in the light turning on. **Recommendations to others considering WiZ:** If you like the ability to turn the lights on without moving to the wall, this app is for you! **What problems is WiZ solving and how is that benefiting you?** When I forget to turn the lights off in a room - I can do it from anywhere and this saves me money. If I want the lights turned on when I get home I can do that so I don't come home to a dark house.
