The best thing about WinSCP is that it has multiple file transfer protocols and the has a GUI which supports features such as drag and drop and also it has file comparison tools which makes the job much easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Winscp has all the features but it has limited support for non Windows platforms which makes it difficult to use in other platforms and also it has no suport for file transfer via HTTPS. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The best part about winscp is its ease of use and strong security features and also it supports a wide range of protocols like SCP, SFTP, DTP and also it has a strong encryption for file transfer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
WinSCP is a very powerfull software but it has limited support for cloud services like the Microsoft OneDrive but this doesn't make WinSCP weak in any aspect and also has some important features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It's straightforward and effortless to set up. One can easily copy files from your windows system to a Linux server using WinSCP. If you are coding or running some scripts on the Linux server, then it's a handy tool. It uses simple SSH or FTP to copy things. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing much. It's a great tool, but it's just a windows based solution and does not support mac or android. So in terms of platform compatibility, WinSCP does not work at all. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
WinSCP has a lot of use cases, but I personally use it mainly as a client for FTP. It is one of the best and most easily configurable tool. Unlike other FTP platform it can store my FTP login crededentials, removing the hassle of repeatedly filling password. It can store multiple FTP accounts and can run them in parralel.
It is great choice for uploading/downloading large files to/from the server. I have many a times takes complete backup of my WordPress website using FTP. Furthermore, if I ever loose connection in middle of editing/uploading files, it can reconnect and continue from right where it stopped. This ensures that I can transfer heavy files on unreliable internet.
It supports almost all modern transfer protocols, and allows for quick connections.
Unlike other tools, I can work in 2 panels with SFTP. I can navigate my local folders on my Windows machine as well as FTP folders from a single screen, this allows me to compare both, and also eases the task of finding things.
It supports bulk actions, many a times web servers may need to delete large folders with multiple files. It is a tedious task to delete every file one by one. I used to do it manually earlier, but with WinSCP I can select a folder click delete, and then after few minutes it would be done clearing all the stuff.
As a web developer, I sometimes create a file and forget where exactly I created it. To mitigate this issue, I can use WinSCP's excellent search which allows me to search through a directory and find any file on a filename basis. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
WinSCP is a great tool, but for me its old UI that resembles softwares of early 2000s is not ideal. It lacks the modern look and feel. Considering the fact that I spend many hours on it on a daily basis, it's poor UI sometimes gives me eye strain. Though, a lot can be solved by increasing the font size in preferences. Still, it is in serious need of a fresh coat of paint. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Excellent software for transferring files, I use it to send by email the code traces that have encountered some type of error. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I like least is that if the file size is very large, the data transfer takes quite a while. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The overall front end and functioning makes file transfer easy Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Any folder, when updated through Linux machines, needs to be refreshed in WinSCP manually to reflect in WinSCP Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Our team has been using WinSCP from past 1 decade. It's lite, quick and super easy to use. It is not fancy in terms of graphics. Does what it is meant to do without any complaints. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The free version is little disappointing and slow. Possibility of data loss but not very frequent. Compatibility is a bit of an issue but we have always been able to overcome those challenges. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
