Product Description

WhyLabs is an AI observability platform that prevents model performance degradation by allowing you to monitor your machine learning models in production. If you deploy an ML model but don’t have visibility into its performance, you risk doing damage to your business because the model stops working. Machine learning engineers and data scientists rely on the platform to monitor ML applications and data pipelines by surfacing and resolving data quality issues, data bias, and concept drift. These capabilities help AI builders reduce model failures, avoid downtime, and ensure customers are getting the best user experience. With out-of-the-box anomaly detection and purpose-built visualizations, WhyLabs eliminates the need for manual troubleshooting and reduces operational costs.

How do you position yourself against your competitors?

What sets WhyLabs apart is:
- Providing the only SaaS privacy-preserving deployment approved for highly regulated industries (Healthcare and FSI)
- Industry-leading in-line threat detection (~300ms latency) for GenAI, detecting adversarial actions, misuse, and hallucinations
- The only AI observability solution for the full model lifecycle across predictive and generative models (60+ integrations)
- The only platform that enables seamless collaboration across ML teams, SRE teams, and security teams

What do you like best about WhyLabs?

Whylabs offers a great platform for people who are interested in adding monitoring capabilities to your models. It provides great visuals for data distributions, and also offers easy-to-add data monitors / alerts to detect anomalities, data drift, and so on.

It has also been a great pleasure for me to work with the Whylabs team. They have really excellent experts who have helped us a lot with the integration of whylogs to our models. Great optimization has been done on their side to make whylogs work for our specific use case. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about WhyLabs?

It would be great to have more options to custom the dashboards for profiles. Documentation could also be better and more complete. However, Whylabs is consistently improving their product, I can definitely see a more mature product in the near future! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is WhyLabs solving and how is that benefiting you?

Whylabs helps monitor the inputs and outputs of our model. Integrating Whylogs to this service helps open the door for capturing potential data drift in predictions, detecting anomalies in model inputs, and understanding user traffic better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about WhyLabs?

As a product, WhyLabs AI Observatory helps fulfill a critical role in providing observability for ML models and pipelines. Our ML team has adopted WhyLabs for some mission-critical models, providing ease of mind that we're tracking the metrics needed to ensure model performance and responsible use of data.

The WhyLabs team is also super quick to support our ML team's questions and feature requests. They have been a pleasure to work with, and I look forward to continued collaboration. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about WhyLabs?

Being a relatively young company, they don't yet provide the functionality and documentation coverage to cover all the existing ML use cases. That being said, the onboarding process has been reasonably smooth for us, and any features that weren't already part of the product were quickly added. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is WhyLabs solving and how is that benefiting you?

WhyLabs provides easy ways to track different metrics across our data and ML models. It also allows us to visualize the data intuitively through a web UI. Focus on high-quality data is being recognized as a more and more critical component of the ML lifecycle, so having a tool like WhyLabs AI Observatory lends confidence to our models and data. What do you like best about WhyLabs?

The platform is flexible, privacy friendly (you don't have to send user data) and provides a great command center view with many alerting options. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about WhyLabs?

The software is great, no complaints at all. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is WhyLabs solving and how is that benefiting you?

WhyLabs helps us monitor our models to ensure the performance doesn't change over time, that any upstream or downstream data inconsistencies or changes are noticed quickly. We monitor some simple metrics, for example word count, and some more complex metrics, such as cosine similarity. I like that the tool is flexible enough to monitor anything we can calculate, then provides best practices for alerting around unexpected variance and extreme values. What do you like best about WhyLabs?

After researching the major players in the ML Observability space I concluded that the WhyLabs team has the best understanding of what functionality is actually needed to conduct actionable monitoring of your ML models and to ensure that you can trust your ML systems to run at scale. The team at WhyLabs has a deep understanding of the problem of ml observability and that is reflected in the product which enables you to perform monitoring easily and intuitively without overcrowding the product with unnecessary, confusing functionality (which a number of competitors do). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about WhyLabs?

Nothing! WhyLabs has an amazing product which is a reflection of the really strong team that builds it! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is WhyLabs solving and how is that benefiting you?

WhyLabs solves the problem of ML observability. When a company is running ML models in production that make critical decisions that affect their customers and/or product, it's necessary to ensure that those models are running healthily and not generating bad predictions. WhyLabs enables a company to trust their ML models to make these decisions because they know that through WhyLabs, they will be alerted if a model starts to fail so they can take immediate action to fix the model and prevent negative impact. What do you like best about WhyLabs?

The ability to gain insight into changing data trends quickly - Normally, it would take days or weeks to assess via traditional monitoring tools. With WhyLabs AI Observatory, it can be done within significantly less time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about WhyLabs?

It could use a little more documentation to assist with the initial setup. There were a few cases where an info popup would have been useful to clarify questions during the setup process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is WhyLabs solving and how is that benefiting you?

Quick and timely insights into data trends to help determine how our clients are using our services. We could determine the most commonly used features our clients use across our products on our web application. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
