**What do you like best about Whale?**

Im going to begin by saying that it is such a user-friendly tool. Great for companies that are beginning to document and keep control of their SOPs, policies, work instructions, etc. In other words, this is a tool that im sure is going to be great if you want to establish a documentation culture in your company.

**What do you dislike about Whale?**

I was presented by Whale's team all the features that they have to offer (so this is not something that I dislike), so I knew from the beginning that something that would be great to have in the following months is the option to create approval routes and maybe also to create more document structural levels.

**What problems is Whale solving and how is that benefiting you?**

definitely, document control! this tool is going to be of a lot of help for new collaborators! a single source of truth right here.

**What do you like best about Whale?**

Whale gives me a place to document my business processes that is accessible by my whole team. If I need my team to review a process, the process can be assigned and each team members completion can be tracked.

**What do you dislike about Whale?**

Copying old forms that were created in Word or other programs is a little clunky. Reformatting these forms can frustrating. It is easy to just rebuild them from scratch or they can be linked through a Google drive.

**Recommendations to others considering Whale:**

Get it out of your head and into whale

**What problems is Whale solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All of my processes were either in my head or on my computer. No one on my team had access to these processes or each process was sent out individually. Having all processes in one location that can be accessed by the whole is a game changer.

I can leave directions for others to follow, which makes training so much more straightforward.

I am a little unclear on how to organize it. It can be a little overwhelming in the beginning. But once you get started, a flow starts happening.

It's a place to help with training that we are working on completing. This will be nice to have everything in one place when someone else is hired.

I love the layout and the way its easy for users to find the information they need quickly. 
I also love the stats and analytics that share helpful insights into what users are searching for so we can support and improve the information available.

**What do you dislike about Whale?**

The least helpful thing about Whale is getting to grips with the language of the different elements, (eg playbook, cards etc) but to be fair, they have developed the ability to rename these so the language can be customised to your own company language, which is pretty cool!

Sharing company knowledge and allowing the team to find helpful sops and contribute to the business IP.

**What do you like best about Whale?**

Initially, I liked that Whale was connected to Traction Tools (software used by companies running on EOS). As well as I was able to confirm with many references in the EOS community that they used it and loved it. But once I got started. It was the extreme availability of their support team that made this an easy tool to help us get up and running.

**What do you dislike about Whale?**

I wish there was a swimlane process document creator as part of the toolset.- I guess any plugin that would make flow diagrams.

**What problems is Whale solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a small company, made up of many fractional resources. Process documentation about how to do a job is most valuable EXACTLY when that person needs it. Team members only want information when they want to consume it. You can blame Google if you want, but every organization needs to have this standardization figured out. Whale completely solves this for us. Creating one process to be used by all - shared with all.

Whale has been incredibly easy to get started setting up.  I like how user friendly it is.

**What do you dislike about Whale?**

As of right now, the only thing I dislike is the inability to unpublish a card.  However, I have provided that feedback and it appears to be something that they are already working on, so that's a plus.

Whale is helping our business to organize our processes.  With that organization, we hope to be more efficient with not only new hire training, but also on-going training.

Whale has a straightforward interface. The Whale team is helpful and responsive.

In some ways, the product is still young.  There are a few features that are a little cumbersome when used on a broad scale.  However, the Whale team is interested in and responsive to my feedback.

We started with processes stuck in people's heads, in Word docs, in various Google drives, and on sticky notes.  We needed one "go-to" place for process.  Now, Whale is that place.

Being able to store and manage all policy and process in one place has been very helpful.  Users are able to find things quickly with the search functions and browser extension that Whale offers.

**What do you dislike about Whale?**

Currently the search function in the extension is broken.  Would love to be able to integrate more with Sharepoint or other Microsoft products, although I understand googles API allows for much more.

It is unifying a few platforms into one.  This creates less chaos and confusion when searching for what you need.  While this is a benefit for the admin team, this is a huge benefit for the users as well.

Integration limitations through API but they do offer Zapier integrations as an alternative.

Really love the user experience and how everything is so organized and can be personalized. It's a really easy program to pick up on! I also loved the onboarding process and that we have an actual person to communicate with. Stijn has been amazing!

I like Whale's simple user interface and attention to things like update reminders and the ability to rename sections to match the company's lexicon. The Suggestions functionality is also SUPER powerful. Wiki tools shouldn't be that complicated — Whale delivers.

**What do you dislike about Whale?**

Two things. It would be the ability to test knowledge. It's not a deal-breaker but maybe more of a nice to have. Additionally, pricing is on the higher end compared to competitors.

A couple of things: New Employee On-boarding and Knowledge Management. Whale centralizes best practices and makes it easy to search, share, and update knowledge.

I like that everything is so easily searchable! The comment features are nice, too. That way, I can notify a teammate if I have any questions/comments/concerns about specific files right there.

Not really a criticism, but I haven't needed the dashboard landing page. I would prefer a large search bar as my "log in" zone.

So far the training has been very thorough and the process to transfer our current docs over was pretty seamless. I have not had a lot of time with the product yet but after the introduction, I am excited to dive in.

I have not had enough time with the product yet to dislike anything.

It is making our onboarding process for our team much easier as they learn about our company processes. It will also help create a hub for information to help add more transparency.

Aesthetically, the app icons don't really help me know what each icon corresponds to. The icons are vague.

Whale is extremely easy to implement through the Board/Playbook/Card system.
We see limitations with the layout as an advantage to focus on content quality.
I also appreciate the on-the-job training permitted by linking training cards to specific web pages.

Whale could use an embedded Quiz option to confirm each training has been efficient.

**What do you like best about Whale?**

User interface. This is probably one of the best-looking process and training tools out there in terms of simplicity and designability. Most recent updates enable the users to craft a custom-looking site that fits into the company brand. Other tools have this ability, but in my experience, Whale brings a whole level of ease of interaction and looks.

**What do you dislike about Whale?**

We have received feedback from our clients using whale that it may take a second to sync across all platforms, this may be due to our client's own internet speed, or it may be on the backend for Whale. Our team did not have that issue, it may have been a one-off situation. 
There are some features that would greatly help our clients and us that whale does not currently offer. But every business will have its own specialized use for the platform, and it is understandable that Whale may not provide everything we need. They are working on updates every week, which is a good sign because they are constantly pushing out new features.

This tool is great for SOP or training. The platform interface is very friendly, and anybody can quickly navigate through it. The real value comes in the plug-in, something that I have not seen other software include. The plug-in helps people quickly find the information relevant to the website they are on, which reduces the time the team has to spend searching for it.

Using a new technology app or tool is very intimidating for people, especially those who are less proficient in this domain. When we looked at software and decided on Whale, the key features were accessible of use and design. Anybody without a coding background or degree can figure out how to get the most basic use out of Whale. Our clients are very wary of new technology, and not using the software they are paying for is perhaps the worst offender. However, they seem to get along very well with Whale and did not have any complaints about the platform. They have all praised Whale for how easy it is to use.

**What do you like best about Whale?**

It tackles the problem of inter-departmental silos and aids in sharing information across different roles and different departments. Information that is readily available for one department but sometimes difficult to obtain yet extremely valuable for another department. Aside from that, it enriches the toolset that's already present in our organization and integrates well with our document sharing solutions, so we don't need to "rip and replace" but can use whale as a catalyst to get more value out of our other tools (i.e., google drive, etc.)

**What do you dislike about Whale?**

We would like to see more integrations become available. However, the whale guys are very readily available for feedback, and I feel this issue is being resolved.

**What problems is Whale solving and how is that benefiting you?**

So the problem we had is that a lot of time - work hours/billable hours - was being wasted chasing internal information that an outside client would assume is known by everyone in the company. Whale allows for a quicker and more understandable way to share this information across departments, resulting in less time being wasted chasing information and more time becoming available to service our clients.

It's so easy to use Whale while I'm working and without even leaving my tools. I own an online platform, and it's easy to surface the knowledge I need when I need it.

I honestly do not have any dislikes. It works perfectly for me.

I work with several people, but it's so exhausting to explain everything more than once. With Whale, I just put the input in the tool and tag the right persons. They get a notification AND they can see the information when they need it.

This is by far the easiest way to give employees the knowledge they need. The easy way to create, consume and undertake knowledge with the interactive features was a big winner. A user-friendly way to create a clear learning pathway is provided to the learners.

I've used several tools to document internal processes and knowledge. But most of the time what I got from the team was that they couldn't find the information they needed or they just didn't have the time to search. Whale's web plug-in totally solved the problem for us.

In general I really like the tool. Would be even better to have more templates that we can choose from.

Once I set up the automations, my team will get notifications of knowledge based on what they are doing now. For example, I can push knowledge when my team is using Gmail or Hubspot. So my team stopped asking me the same questions over and over again!

Whale helps us onboard new hires faster and makes sure our teams have easy access to our company knowledge in their moment of need. The Whale browser plugin is by far my favorite tool. It allows us to contextually suggest knowledge in our existing toolset (Hubspot, Asana,  Gmail, ..). And because the knowledge is overlayed in the apps themselves we don't need to switch tabs anymore and lose focus on what we are doing. Finally, the insights really help us understand what processes work and where we still have room for improvement. To summarize Whale has helped us scale our business much faster by having a central training and knowledge platform for all of our process, SOP's and company knowledge

At the moment I haven't really found any.

Database for standard templates are collected on one place. It's a start to improve the efficiency between our three departments, located in three different cities.  We don't lose time anymore to search certain standard mails or templates, we find it directly in Whale, what is a huge time saving.  New colleagues can find in a wip important informations on our internal procedures.

It takes time to put all this information in Whale.  The start of Whale can be intensive for the writers of Whale.

The biggest painpoint for me was learning how to document our processes from within a blank account. Content, templates, best practices etc. would be a nice add-on, but the Whale team told me they're working on that part!

- lang onboarding time for new employees
- to much shoulder tapping and distraction from questions from the team

Benefits:
- no shoulder tapping anymore and thus time created to work on my business
