**What do you like best about Wellfound?**

Wellfound is one of the easiest platforms to use when it comes to discovering startups, exploring open roles, and connecting with founders or hiring managers directly. I like that it focuses specifically on startups, which makes the opportunities more relevant compared to general job portals. The user interface is clean, intuitive, and helps me find companies and roles that match my interests without getting lost in unnecessary details.

**What do you dislike about Wellfound?**

While the platform is extremely helpful, the response rate from companies can sometimes be low, which makes it hard to understand whether an application is still being considered. Some job postings also appear to stay active even if the role has already been filled, which can create confusion. Adding more filters or verification for active jobs would make the experience even smoother.

**What problems is Wellfound solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Wellfound solves the challenge of discovering genuine startup opportunities in one place. Instead of spending hours searching across multiple platforms, I can directly explore curated roles from early-stage to growth-stage companies. It also bridges the gap between job seekers and founders or hiring teams, making the application process feel more personal and transparent. This has saved me time, helped me target the right kind of roles, and given me insights into the startup ecosystem that I wouldn’t easily find elsewhere.

**What do you like best about Wellfound?**

I like how Wellfound has the ability to search for talent all around the world in varying areas of work. The options and selection for candidates was way larger than I thought it would be and the criteria such as price, location, experience, and availability that can be filtered out is great. It is easy to use Wellfound and no additional integrations are needed once on the website.

**What do you dislike about Wellfound?**

The downsides about Wellfound are how it does not have the availability for founders or folks hiring to see video recordings of candidates looking for work.

**What problems is Wellfound solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to find talent that is willing to work for the price I can offer. Other websites usually do not have candidates who are willing to work as independent contractors or full time employees. The filtering options on Wellfound really benefit me.

**What do you like best about Wellfound?**

I really liked how simple it was to post a job without going through tons of checks and verifications. It’s also great that there’s a free posting option, and there’s no pressure to upgrade to a paid plan — a huge plus for early-stage startups with tight budgets. Other platforms promised free listings but turned out to require payment at the final step. With Wellfound, everything was transparent from the start, which I appreciated. Messaging with candidates is easy, and the application management tools are very convenient too.

**What do you dislike about Wellfound?**

Everything is great. Maybe the only thing I didn't like was the duplicate email notifications after an application is accepted. But I'm sure that's customizable somewhere.

Unlike other platforms, it didn’t just generate volume—it surfaced people with relevant experience, startup mindset, and strong fit for our culture. The UI is intuitive, filters are actually useful, and messaging was seamless. Found several qualified candidates in under a week.

Few, if any!Nothing truly bad—just wish more top-tier profiles were actively looking or responsive.

I have found that many bootcamps and universities are recommending their students to look for internships on Wellfound. If you have a strong internship program, Wellfound is a great place to find candidates for it. Wellfound has a streamlined interface which makes matching and finding the best candidates easy. Wellfound is simple to use and especially good for finding candidates in UI/UX design and software engineering.

**What do you dislike about Wellfound?**

When using Wellfound to list job postings for free, it is very hard to know how much exposure your listings are getting. It is hard to tell if you need to refine your listing or if the listings just isn't being shown to too many people. It would be great if Wellfound provided more analytics to show how free listings are performing.

I have been using this platform on and off since it was AngelList Talent as a job seeker. It consistently provides an amazingly simple way to connect with senior leadership and get to know companies in a user-friendly way. As a job-seeker, it was my daily go to platform to access available positions. One easy to complete profile provides AI suggested roles for ongoing access to applying to jobs selectively chosen to fit the profile.  Now, as a Business Owner, my perspective on the value of this platform is enhanced even more. I know how easy it is for prospective employees to find us and apply as we offer positions. I know how easy it is for me to create a presence for our company on this valued platform. The implementation process is extremely simple, pricing is more than fair. As I had a few questions during this account creation, customer support has been extremely and instantly helpful. The integration for account setup was extremely efficient and easy. I'm excited to continue my relationship with Wellfound!

Occasionally, there is a match with companies that are questionable. That isn't a fault of Wellfound, but it did take time to review the AI presented roles.

For a platform geared toward startups, it doesn’t offer a good experience if you’re trying to hire commission based contractors. Would love to see that option as early stage startups may not always be able to afford a salary up front

Candidates didn’t always get their alerts when reaching out to them. Maybe they went into spam or junk, but when you are expecting an open communication thread, you’d want your candidates to be able to get their alerts.

The quality of applicants is generally higher for software oriented jobs and is geared towards startup buisnesses which is my exact use case.

**What do you dislike about Wellfound?**

I think splitting "jobs" and "applicants" into a two tabs is a bit redudant. I think there should just be a "My Listings" page where you can click into a job, edit, view, AND browse applicants rather than splitting it into two top level views. It was a bit odd to jump between two nearly identical views just to edit the listing versus edit the listing OR view applicants.

The profile settings are smart, like the type of start-up you prefer - early, seed round, etc. You often get a name for who is doing the hiring, which is nice. In general the short form message and chat interfaces feel more conversational, which I like.

I have yet to get an interview. It would be nice if you knew the application was at least received/viewed.

I have been a user since it was formally AngelList, I think the platform is a great place to seek out opportunities. I think the offers are genuine, authentic and real. As someone that is actively seeking a job, I will turn to Wellfound. Other friends have also recommended Wellfound when I told them I was looking for a job.

**What do you dislike about Wellfound?**

I don't have any concrete feedback I want to give. It's UX friendly and the UI is very clean too.

Posting job opportunities. I think this is sometimes better than LinkedIn because of the platform and jobs are actually hiring.

many candidates are from web3/crypto industry which is what our company exactly looking for.

**What do you dislike about Wellfound?**

If Wellfound can have a filter to select country, thats great. I receive 100 resumes per day and 80 of thems are from Nigeria and India. Sometimes we only need US based employees and it takes time for me to review and reject. Filter is a good function and there is no report function. I can't see how many resumes came in after the job has been closed.

I like how easy it is to filter and sort through jobs as a job seeker. The UI is very pleasing, and the website's functionalities are tailored for seamless communication between a job seeker and companies that are hiring.

Sometimes, when jobs set a timezone preference, I can't apply to it even if I'm in a similar timezone until I change it in my profile. This is very frustrating and leads me to cancel the application.

Wellfound stands out for its streamlined job posting process, which makes it easy to connect with a wide range of talented candidates. It allows startups to post jobs for free that can only offer i.e equity, profit sharing agreements.

- It is easy to use, straight forward, and straight to the point.
- Customer support responds promptly, I've found that I can ask questions and don't get constantly routed to the FAQ bots.
- I use it for all my job postings

I have not found another website with the audience size or the functionality to accomplish this task.

Sometimes the prioritization of the jobs that do not have normal forms of compensations i.e a base salary, are deprioritized to the point that they cannot be shown. This happens rarely, but it does happen.

Great user interface and ease of use.
We've found several candidates for our startup that we ended up hiring.
The support team is very responsive, although we didn't need them much.

No big issues.
There is one buy where the job description cloning doesn't clone all fields, so that would be good to get fixed.

The downside to Wellfound are the limitations of searches if you have a free service. The costs are pretty hefty as well.

I really like the ATS section for hiring purposes. Also like to communicate with candidates through chat directly. I also got my current job from Wellfound :)

It is really intuitive and easy to use.

Not only was it easy to get a job posted on Wellfound, it sourced incredibly qualified candiates immediately. We were able to find and hire our latest team member within a month of posting the role- and as small team with no in-house recruitment support, Wellfound was essential in this success!

**What do you dislike about Wellfound?**

The workplace settings (eg. remote/in-person/hybrid) were difficult to accuratly idenitfy and configure. I did not realize I set them incorrectly until notified by a candidate.

that there are agencies posing as people for interviews. It wastes my time and theirs.

The conversation and tracking part of the product is a bit clunky. It can be hard to find someone once you approve someone to move them through the process.

Wouldn't let me post an equity only role. Other startups do this, my job post was only deleted after a candidate complained. This seems strange for a startup investment/hiring platform.

Potentially lower pricing than Carta? Not much to like beyond that.

Where do I begin?
1. No support, only a bot and email which takes forever
2. Deel integration does not work
3. Constant issues trying to release grants to employees - what should've taken days, took months of back and forth
4. AVOID at all cost. I wish someone told me this when I was comparing them to Cart - on paper all looks great but AL for startups is a product that simply does not work as advertised.
