Every week, our employees get a short trivia quiz and it naturally sparks conversation across different teams. We had colleagues discussing answers and sharing interesting fact and even joking about the funniest strong response. Their setup was very simple and especially through Slack, and everything from reminder to result is automated. They also like that their trivia categories and difficulty can be customised so that content stays relevant and enjoyable for different groups. **What do you dislike about Water Cooler Trivia?** Overall, it has been a really positive response with a few areas that should be improved. Occasionally, some trivia questions feel feel easier or a little too difficult or too specific for a diverse team. With the customisation topic though, it helps us, but having more globally balanced questions would benefit diversified companies. I would also say to add additional analytics around participation trend and engagement overtime this would be helping the team building activity very much effective. **What problems is Water Cooler Trivia solving and how is that benefiting you?** One of our biggest challenges was keeping our employees engaged, especially with hybrid and remote work. Engaging with our cross-functional team was very difficult. The team often interacted only during the work-related meetings, this platform introduces a simple weekly activity which gave everyone something enjoyable to talk about, and it also helped our employees feel more connected while encouraging interactions between departments and creating a stronger sense of community without even requiring any significant efforts from our HR or any functional manager. Since all the trivia and uh close were automated, it saved lots of human intervention. ### 2. It's a low-stakes way for anyone to play who wants to. It's also been a great way for me to get to know coworkers outside of work. I wouldn't have known my engineering teammate studied classical violin had it not been for a trivia question that he got right. **What do you dislike about Water Cooler Trivia?** Sometimes the questions feel too hard. I consistently get around 4 or 5 out of 10, but there are some weeks where I get close to none. **Recommendations to others considering Water Cooler Trivia:** Using the teams feature has been fun -- it's a cool way to participate in trivia and feel like a winner via your team even if you're like me and not the best at trivia individually. **What problems is Water Cooler Trivia solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our company is big enough for me to not have a reason to interface with people on other teams in my day-to-day. There are definitely times when I've found myself in the elevator or kitchen with a coworker who I don't know well and we don't have much to talk about. It's stupid but people really get into it.
