**Reviewed by:** Antoine M. | Ingénieur sécurité, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2021

**What do you like best about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

Easy to implement, easy integration to Azure AD

**What do you dislike about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

Before firebox 12.7 need on-premise radius gateway

**What problems is WatchGuard AuthPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed to set up an MFA on the VPN

  ### 2. Overly simplistic, prone to failure

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zachary C. | Tier 3 Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2021

**What do you like best about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

MFA clients supported across multiple platforms

**What do you dislike about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

server agent runs on JAVA, no option (that I found) to run our own RADIUS server

**What problems is WatchGuard AuthPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

MFA for VPN access and windows logins works well, agent server system needs a backup/redundancy

  ### 3. AuthPoint Multi-Factor Authentication Review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 20, 2021

**What do you like best about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

Simple to use once, for most users once all settings are set up.

**What do you dislike about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

We have had issues where the push notifications are delayed or just don't happen.

**What problems is WatchGuard AuthPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Remote access to the companies systems, desperately required during frequent lockdowns.

  ### 4. Authpoint for VPN review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Benjamin G. | President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2019

**What do you like best about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

I like that security of the tech as well as the fact that it is fully integrated with the watchguard hardware. It allows us to be CMMC compliant and the phone app is super easy to use for the end users.

**What do you dislike about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

Difficult to get going, the whitepapers are lacking something and keep referring to other whitepapers. Making this easier to roll out is going to make or break this for most.

**Recommendations to others considering WatchGuard AuthPoint:**

Take your time in implementation, it is not easy especially if it is active directory integrated

**What problems is WatchGuard AuthPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We do business with the DOD and 2 factor auth is a requirement of remote access if you do business with them.

  ### 5. Cloud based MFA portal, intuitive and quick implementation.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2019

**What do you like best about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

The Authpoint portal being could based is accessible through any device with the option of soft/hard token is a plus for our company whose has many staffs travelling worldwide. I can monitor staff token sign in history and access within a few clicks.

**What do you dislike about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

Can take some time and research to integrate into existing firewall, online documentation from WatchGuard could be more user friendly (hard to search for precise information)

**Recommendations to others considering WatchGuard AuthPoint:**

Multiple region for Authpoint authentication & signin method. Supports soft/hard token.

**What problems is WatchGuard AuthPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Resolve our regulatory and business requirement for MFA and single sign on for our business & clients. Staffs find it user friendly and doesnt require much training.

  ### 6. Easy integration with watchguard product

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Frederic D. | Administrateur système, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 07, 2020

**What do you like best about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

Easy to setup, comprehensive client for customer

**What do you dislike about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

Authpoint gateway run on Windows only, add linux platform will be fine

**What problems is WatchGuard AuthPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

stronger security for external (mobile VPN) access to the network

  ### 7. Young Two Factor Authority

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris Y. | Network Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 26, 2019

**What do you like best about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

Easy to use.
Easy to integrate.
End-User experience has been received very positively from the technical team as well as the call center / non technical teams and executives.
Updates have shown the Devs are listening and moving towards an even better product.

**What do you dislike about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

Cloud UI can be convoluted and has some issues when trying to administrate. Overall these are pretty common issues with cloud UI's I have experienced. The updates they've made have shown they're progressing forward and not making it more of a mess however.

**Recommendations to others considering WatchGuard AuthPoint:**

The integration follows industry standards and very streamlined/easy to do. The cloud administration UI has some clunky feeling to it, but is pretty typical of most cloud UI's these days. Overall even if we didn't use Watchguard Firewalls i would use this for Two Factor for the ease, app, and overall integration setup and end-user experience.

**What problems is WatchGuard AuthPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed Two-Factor on our VPN, this solved our issues. We are also expanding this to be a more seamless signle sign-on experience for the end-users, which is also possible with this. It is also very affordable by comparing other companies to Watchguard.

  ### 8. A simple approach to an additional layer of protection

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dean C. | CEO, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2019

**What do you like best about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

I have been using AuthPoint for over 12 months and have found it to be very simple to use. Being able to use the mobile app to replace some other 3rd party apps is handy, and even better is the ability to customise the entries in the app with logo and description. I like the additional layer of protection MFA provides my identity too.
Whether I'm connected to the Internet, or working offline, AuthPoint has been simple, reliable and user friendly.

**What do you dislike about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

The product is certainly still maturing so there are naturally some missing features however I believe these are in the roadmap for development and will be delivered soon enough. There's really nothing I dislike about AuthPoint though.

**What problems is WatchGuard AuthPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Providing simple MFA to protect my network login identity and device. Allows me to reduce the need for regular password changes (but still keep it complex). I have a high level of confidence in my security profile, and that of my company

  ### 9. Fine when it works but has issues

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 04, 2020

**What do you like best about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

The interface and ease of initial setup along with the login app for Windows PCs.

**What do you dislike about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

The method of MFA with Office 365 is incredibly cumbersome to the point we have switched to Azure MFA for email. We have experienced multiple errors that have left users unable to access their PCs and support has been poor. Sometimes taking up to 24hr to resolve.

**Recommendations to others considering WatchGuard AuthPoint:**

Look elsewhere.

**What problems is WatchGuard AuthPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It does a decent job of securing the user’s desktop systems but not much else.

  ### 10. Authpoint Review - Billy Ladd

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 04, 2020

**What do you like best about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

The additional security of MFA for both VPN and Cloud wifi management.

**What do you dislike about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

Occasionally do not see a notification from the application. I have had to navigate to the application a few times to approve request.

**Recommendations to others considering WatchGuard AuthPoint:**

If you have a smart phone, I don't see any reason why you shouldn't setup MFA today.

**What problems is WatchGuard AuthPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Eliminating the risk of users intentionally or unintentionally gaining access to the wifi management console.

  ### 11. Dive into MFA/2FA with WatchGuard

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matt M. | Network Engineer II, Computer & Network Security, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 16, 2019

**What do you like best about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

Robust, well designed MFA. I can confirm the fact that WatchGuard themselves use their own product in-house too which goes to show you their level of confidence in their own product considering the "high-value" target they have on them being a network security bastion.

**What do you dislike about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

Nothing with the product itself. The most difficult part is uprooting a companies lazy security practices and convincing end-users the true value of MFA/2FA. All the more easier however once a breach has occurred because then the attitude is more "whatever it takes".

**Recommendations to others considering WatchGuard AuthPoint:**

There are two types of people, those who have MFA, and those whom have yet to suffer a breach.

**What problems is WatchGuard AuthPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Comprehensive end-user security that gives MSPs more peace of mind since the end-users are the biggest threats we have. No more shared accounts. We also now have true non-repudiation and thus accountability.

  ### 12. AuthPoint is simplistic and effective.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dean A. | IT Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 26, 2019

**What do you like best about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

AuthPoint allows our company 2FA at a reasonable price. It was easy to setup and ongoing support is very straight forward.

**What do you dislike about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

I really do not dislike anything about the product. It works exactly as advertised.

**Recommendations to others considering WatchGuard AuthPoint:**

For the security, ease of use and setup, I do not think the price can be beat! This solution is a no-brainer when paired with other WatchGuard services like a firebox and IPSec NCP VPN Client.

**What problems is WatchGuard AuthPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

AuthPoint provides another layer of security to our VPN login process, making it much more difficult for a bad actor to breach our network if an Active Directory UN/PW is compromised.

  ### 13. A product that increase your security in VPN connections

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2019

**What do you like best about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

It is a powerfull tool, leaving the conection to the user, and they fell the security when they have to open and approbe the connection. The app is very simple and the password on the token I think is very positive. Also the connection with the Firebox makes easy to open the firewall to that users or groups

**What do you dislike about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

The server that you have to create is not clear how to configure, the connection between the firebox and the server is very strange, but when you have done, all works great

**Recommendations to others considering WatchGuard AuthPoint:**

Don't frustrate in the implementation, because when you finish the product is very powerfull and reliable

**What problems is WatchGuard AuthPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Best security in the VPN connection, all the responsability is for the user, and he can see what is he done. Every day my users use AutnPoint and the feeling for all of them is very good

  ### 14. Useful and Well Designed.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Government Administration | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 22, 2019

**What do you like best about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

AuthPoint MFA has been an extremely useful tool for our organization. We needed a way to provide two factor authentication for our staff and we needed a short turnaround. The ease of use and easy to deploy setup of AuthPoint MFA helped us to achieve this goal quickly and securely.

**What do you dislike about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

When a user loses their secondary device or has to switch for maintenance or hardware fault reasons, it can sometimes be difficult to migrate the AuthPoint user profile to a new device. A simple and effective way of downloading the app on a new device and migrating the users tokens or profiles would be helpful!

**What problems is WatchGuard AuthPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed to quickly configure a VPN solution for our users and we were hesitant to do so without a solid MFA option in place. AuthPoint solved this problem for us with extremely quick turnaround.

  ### 15. Amazing and slick. Always evolving

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan S. | Senior System Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2019

**What do you like best about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

It’s a really good tool that WatchGuard are always evolving to make it better by the minute

**What do you dislike about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

I think some of the feature like the use with VPN’s need more feature like auto push and accepting pin

**Recommendations to others considering WatchGuard AuthPoint:**

The ability to protect lots make it so affective

**What problems is WatchGuard AuthPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Security is the key thing that it solves and stopping brute force attacks primarily

  ### 16. Authpoint, a device independent MFA solution

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeremy W. | Senior Security Administrator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2019

**What do you like best about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

The cost is much cheaper than comparable solutions. It is extremely easy to set up and manage. It is full of features in that it supports various technologies such as RADIUS authentication, ADFS, local logons, many SAML web apps.

**What do you dislike about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

The platform has been slow in adopting or adapting to various technologies. They don't support IKEv2 VPNs and SAML based applications are still a all or nothing venture. This poses a problem when you want to slowly roll out the application to a larger corporation in stages.

**Recommendations to others considering WatchGuard AuthPoint:**

Get a free trial and give it a shot, you have nothing to lose and might find it fits you perfectly.

**What problems is WatchGuard AuthPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Securing email, VPNs, internal resources via Access Portal, secure SSO across multiple web apps

  ### 17. AuthPoint - a MSP’s dream for MFA

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 12, 2019

**What do you like best about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

How easy it is to deploy, and manage.
I love how it makes it so we don’t need one cell phone (as a provider) to get in and manage. Our team can manage our clients in AuthPoint without there being 1 single point of failure.

Most of all I like WatchGuard’s support team, I don’t know how you do it but your team is so great at what they do and I have a blast whenever I can call them, even if it’s a frustrating issue!

**What do you dislike about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

certain things aren’t explained very well, like the “Domain” section in RDWeb, but your support team has been on top of it when I’ve had any questions.

Bulk licensing can’t be distributed to Delegated accounts which makes it a pain when we have one portal for Cloud Visibility and another for AuthPoint (for the same customer!)

**Recommendations to others considering WatchGuard AuthPoint:**

Go through the certification, it helps fill in the holes you are missing when going through blind ^.^

**What problems is WatchGuard AuthPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Security/ simplicity.

There are clients that want to lock their laptops with MFA and the Logon App is amazing!

We also have clients that want to lock down their terminal server for access over RDP, and the logon app even facilitates this.

AuthPoint solves the “just need username and password” security issue of the SSLVPN tool and allows for easy deployment of this solution. I can’t wait until the AuthPoint integration with the firebox comes out!

  ### 18. Authpoint is a great MFA with a great pricepoint

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel K. | Consultant Network Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 27, 2019

**What do you like best about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

The best thing about authpoint is that you cannot "save" the one time password codes as they are being invalidated when they switch, this is not the case for example DUO where the OTP is active even after a new one is generated.

**What do you dislike about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

If you have office365 federated it requires hands on management to each user after they have enrolled.

**What problems is WatchGuard AuthPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Increased security since MFA is the minimum requirement to have a baseline.

  ### 19. Excellent alternative to other 2FA services

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 12, 2019

**What do you like best about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

The ease of use of WatchGuard's AuthPoint and integration to its latest Firebox devices makes it an essential business tool, and perfect for getting organizations interested in further protecting their business and online assets.

**What do you dislike about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

There is currently no option to utilize AuthPoint with the local WatchGuard Firebox database, however I am told they are working on this update in a future release!

**Recommendations to others considering WatchGuard AuthPoint:**

If you're a heavy WatchGuard user, it is a really valuable tool to have this service as part of the WatchGuard line of services to protect internal assets and application access.

**What problems is WatchGuard AuthPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

AuthPoint has enabled me as a WatchGuard reseller to protect my customers Firebox registration and cloud management, online. It has also internally provided an extra step to protect my gateway to internal networks where my client data is stored.

  ### 20. Authpoint for VPN review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ben G. | President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 06, 2019

**What do you like best about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

That we are now compliant with government regulations as a defense contractor. The push alerts are really handy as well. Having the app work with the facial recognition in IOS is really a nice feature. Keep up all the great work the team here really appreciates it.

**What do you dislike about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

The setup was very difficult and having to install the gateway on a server is a bit frustrating. The documentation leaves much to be desired and integrating it with active directory, even harder. I do not like having to install and maintain so many pieces to keep it working. It seems like the firebox itself could handle some of these pcs.

**Recommendations to others considering WatchGuard AuthPoint:**

Once setup is over it is all worth the fight. Plan on some failures and frustration in setup and plan on easy sailing afterwords.

**What problems is WatchGuard AuthPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were able to secure our VPN to be in compliance with our government regulations. We disabled our older less secure methods and the users have reported no issues in remote connectivity.

  ### 21. Sleek and stylish MFA, very user friendly

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 11, 2019

**What do you like best about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

Easy to deploy MFA, simple to use, cost effective and scalable, has good integration with other firebox products like access portal and 3rd party's like Office 365 , the deployment guides are fairly easy to follow as an administrator. as a user the push system is very user friendly most of our staff did not need to have their hands held to understand how to use it. mostly positive experiences from my feedback.

**What do you dislike about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

My biggest dislike is you must have a phone to use AuthPoint MFA, not all of my users have a phone or want to put software on a personal device. having a Vasco/RSA type authentication fob/dongle would be a great option for people that don't have a phone.

Also are there was no integration for MFA with the firebox VPN, this would be great if it could be integrated the same way it works with the Access Portal.

**Recommendations to others considering WatchGuard AuthPoint:**

If you are considering using AuthPoint MFA, make sure it will do what you think it will do. you must be running at least windows 8.1 or higher, you must have a mobile phone to use this product, and it dose not integrate with the firebox VPN at this time. other than those things its a great solution.

**What problems is WatchGuard AuthPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The AuthPoint MFA solution is solving the problem of compliance for NIST 800-171 it gives extra security at little to no additional steps for our users. and allows us to have a single solution for most of our platforms.

  ### 22. Comprehensive and easy to deploy MFA

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mundo A. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2019

**What do you like best about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

Integrates easily with enterprise applications. Our users love they can use authenticator with their personal credentials for other platforms that support Google Authenticator.

**What do you dislike about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

MFA is somewhat new to end users making it difficult to adopt. WatchGuard Authpoint solution makes it easier.

**What problems is WatchGuard AuthPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

MFA protects our resources from bad /easy password policies.

  ### 23. Benefits of AuthPoint MFA

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2019

**What do you like best about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

It's great for consolidating MFA accounts in one app by allowing the addition of third-party tokens that aren't fully supported by AuthPoint. The push-notification option is much easier than having to open the app and get a code. The details available for each token is amazing compared to other MFA apps:
- being able to edit token details is helpful for naming
- the "Show token details" gives important info
- "Migrate token" is probable the best feature of all compared to other apps, especially when having to change devices

**What do you dislike about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

Some of the integration guides don't provide enough details on the different implementation options available for each supported service. Also, some of the integration options are limiting/lack flexibility to some usage scenarios.

**Recommendations to others considering WatchGuard AuthPoint:**

Give it a try!

**What problems is WatchGuard AuthPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to consolidate MFA tokens in one app is probably the best problem solved by AuthPoint.

  ### 24. A decent MFA Solution

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sean H. | Senior Consultant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2019

**What do you like best about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

Works okay but isn't most intuitive solution. Additional documentation would be a big plus

**What do you dislike about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

Documentation for integration with Office 365 is lacking.

**What problems is WatchGuard AuthPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Authpoint works well for desktop/rds but not well for securing 365 MFA.

  ### 25. Security simplified

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ola N. | Chairman, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2019

**What do you like best about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

The easiness of the installation, configuration and implementation almost surpasses the simplicity of using the added security. Just great!

**What do you dislike about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

It's a bit tricky to use the Office365 integration, many pitfalls of configuration.

**What problems is WatchGuard AuthPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The need to change passwords is almost eradicated, the user is getting the feel for being safe, it's genuine and true too.

  ### 26. Realy good software

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Industrial Automation | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2019

**What do you like best about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

I love the fact that its simple to use and reliable.

**What do you dislike about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

I found it hard to understand how it works and how it has to be used at first.

**Recommendations to others considering WatchGuard AuthPoint:**

First take your time to read the documentation completely

**What problems is WatchGuard AuthPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Its simple to use. We only use it for MFA with ssl vpn

  ### 27. Easy to use.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 26, 2019

**What do you like best about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

I don't have to actually open the app to approve the request.

**What do you dislike about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

The user interface (web side) is not intuitive.

**What problems is WatchGuard AuthPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We've been able to connect multiple people to our network from many different locations allowing people to work from home. This is a huge money saver.

  ### 28. Easy management and set up

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 06, 2019

**What do you like best about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

Very simple user interface for our end users.

**What do you dislike about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

We are unable to see the public IP address of the default gateway in the management console. This would help us better track and manage who is logging in and from where. We are beginning to see issues where the users are getting logged out of the VPN randomly, but that could be due to limited network availability or end user error.

**What problems is WatchGuard AuthPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have increased our security for end users that are constantly mobile.

  ### 29. Golden Star - Review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Earl J. | President, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2019

**What do you like best about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

the safety I feel with the multi authentication

**What do you dislike about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

down side is if you are on a airplane you can not get access sometimes to wifi to get authenticated.

**What problems is WatchGuard AuthPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

in todays world its all about a safe network and this is just another layer of security

  ### 30. Peace of mind

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John L. | Lead Technical Advisor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2019

**What do you like best about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

Quick to setup and deploy to users. Easy to manage. Peace of mind knowing that user accounts have an extra layer of security that's not complex for them to handle.

**What do you dislike about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

Sometimes users don't get the email for account setup.

**Recommendations to others considering WatchGuard AuthPoint:**

Make sure to read the documentation however if you are stuck, technical support is available and always a pleasure to work with.

**What problems is WatchGuard AuthPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Securing remote access to their networks.

  ### 31. AuthPoint MFA

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2019

**What do you like best about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

It is a single place to see all my users and configure accounts and group access. Ties in nicely with other WatchGuard Firewall products and to have 1 place for multiple sites.

**What do you dislike about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

Only thing i can think of is it needs more options for alert notifications and better instructions / Videos for different setups.

**What problems is WatchGuard AuthPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to have single place to setup MFA for VPN and SSO. It has enabled us to have a secure connection for our end users connecting to our network via SSLVPN.

  ### 32. AuthPoint is awesome, works great, and is easy to use - I was skeptical before I tried it.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

Its easier and faster to login now than it is 'manually'. The app is super simple - just click 'approve' and you are logged in. It has always worked well and never 'glitched'. The price is very affordable - lower than others in the same market, especially if you buy a 3 year term. We've also integrated it with Office 365 and another app we use that works with SAML - the integration guides from WatchGuard are step by step, easy to follow and worked perfectly.

**What do you dislike about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

Nothing I can find to dislike - I really love this app and it took me by surprise. I was not looking forward to multi-factor because I thought it would be a hassle and not work. This app is rock solid, super easy, and fast.

**Recommendations to others considering WatchGuard AuthPoint:**

I highly recommend AuthPoint - I tired Duo and I find this to be much, much easier. I love it and its worked perfectly for me since day 1. Its been so good its kind of surprised me honestly. You can't go wrong with AuthPoint, its awesome.

**What problems is WatchGuard AuthPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

AuthPoint helps us with reducing cyber security risk and improving our compliance with various regulatory requirements. AuthPoint also helps to prevent accidental account lock-outs. AuthPoint protects us from password attacks and makes us more secure generally. AuthPoint protects our cloud apps like Office 365 - we use the SAML integration and now we have secured our O365 from external attackers as well.

  ### 33. Best MFA for SMB

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michal D. | Senior Network & Security Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 31, 2018

**What do you like best about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

Administrators does not need too much knowledge to manage WatchGuard's MFA product. Ideal solution for small and medium sized enterprises, no hardware requirements. Cloud based management, simple LDAP/AD integration and sync, great user experience with mobile-based token and push-notifications.

**What do you dislike about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

3rd party hardware tokens are not supported yet as well as MacOS Logon App (Dec/2018). It is also complicated to disable MFA for specific user in case that user forgot his smartphone (for VPN authentication for example). AuthPoint gateway software is supported on Windows platform only.

**Recommendations to others considering WatchGuard AuthPoint:**

If your are looking for easy to manage MFA solution with low TCO, AuthPoint is a great solution for you. It is easy to setup, easy to manage within WatchGuard Cloud platform and most importantly, easy to use with AuthPoint Mobile App. You can also use AuthPoint as a IdP solution for your SAML integrations, which is great opportunity to secure access to your company's cloud applications, such as Salesforce, O365, Dropbox etc.

**What problems is WatchGuard AuthPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our company is Value-Add Distributor and many people works remotely. AuthPoint gave us an opportunity to increase security for mobile users in very simple and intuitive way. The key benefit is mobile token, which is easy to install, activate and use. I also use AuthPoint App for my other personal tokens, like Google or Facebook.

  ### 34. MFA to the rescue

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 19, 2019

**What do you like best about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

The cloud setup and low-touch requirements once setup. It is a well designed tool.

**What do you dislike about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

The remote utility on the phone can follow the notification settings so if had speaker off or vibrate takes a try or two before remember that I have to hit the MFA. Might be an add to the firewall logon warning if MFA is activated and that the rejection was from no mfa.

**What problems is WatchGuard AuthPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

MFA has allowed us to have a much more secure access method for remote users, another layer above the SSL VPN on it's own.

**What do you dislike about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

They are adding in many 3rd parties and just need to keep adding more

**What problems is WatchGuard AuthPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use this for both remote access and Microsoft now and the phone app is great for it.

**What do you dislike about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

Sometime there are login delays, very infrequent.

**What problems is WatchGuard AuthPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Immediate benefit to secure against password breaches. Ability to run it across RDS sessions and secure the entire edge.

First the offline solution form Windows logon app
The compatibility with a lot of solution

**What do you dislike about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

Need for a mobile phone and no hardware solution by Watchguard

**Recommendations to others considering WatchGuard AuthPoint:**

This is the most complete MFA for logon and very user friendly app

**What problems is WatchGuard AuthPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Windows work station security improvement and VPN connection MFA

  ### 38. Generally good

**What do you like best about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

Very flexible. Very nice to be able to use Active Directory credentials with 2FA to authenticate things like the SSL VPN.

**What do you dislike about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

Nothing. Not sure why 'dislike' needs to be 40 characters minimum.

**What problems is WatchGuard AuthPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

2FA for SSL VPN.

  ### 39. Best Authentication App

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thiago d. | Operations Manager, Computer Networking, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 02, 2019

**What do you like best about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

The authentication app is simply the best on the market. You can register not only watchguard authpoint tokens but many others such as Facebook, GMail, GitHub, and so on. Besides, you can lock your tokens under the fingerprint/PIN authentication so they won't be compromised if your smartphone get stolen while unlocked. Very clever!

**What do you dislike about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

It could have a dark theme (perhaps an OLED dark theme) but this is just cosmetics.

**Recommendations to others considering WatchGuard AuthPoint:**

The biggest feature of this product is that you can work with lots of authentication protocols (such as SAML or OAuth) and your user still can use their services onto the app. The push notification works as a charm even with smartwatches. Ask for a trial and find for yourself!

**What problems is WatchGuard AuthPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lots of costumers want the AuthPoint so they can better secure their legacy applications that doesn't offer any kind of MFA. Another great usage is for customers that must increase the authentication security over the company's devices such as PC or MAC (beta) notebooks

  ### 40. Authpoint enables users to use MFA principles easily on daily basis on platform-independent devices

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lukas E. | Lukas, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 02, 2019

**What do you like best about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

Authpoint can be installed either on iPhones or Android devices. Its online and also offline authentication features enable users to login anywhere and anytime, regardless the internet connection in easy and convenient way. There is more than one authentication option - Push, QR Scan, One Time Password, from which any user can pick the one, that suites the most. What truly suprised me, was a swift time response of the application itself, ranging from 1-3 seconds, depending on connection and type of authentication. The token system and its dynamic management possibilities help the administrator to quickly manage and solve potencial issues with authentication. And the important advantage is that you can the App is tightly connected to a specific device, which mitigate potencial theft.

**What do you dislike about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

At first, there were some issues with first login via Authpoint into computers, because at first authentication attempt, the internet connection is always needed. Also, on some virtual OS Windows machines, when the timezone/time was not correctly set, authentication was not possible through some authentication options, but it was quickly solved by Watchguard Support.

**Recommendations to others considering WatchGuard AuthPoint:**

If you or your company look for easy-to-use and easy-to-deploy MFA solution, then Authpoint is the way.

**What problems is WatchGuard AuthPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were through some minor issues with Authpoint not showing pop-ups when a device was locked and the user wanted to authenticate, but it turned out, it was due bad notification settings on Android OS. The pros are simple, we are now able to deploy MFA for the whole company swiftly, since the solution is cloud-based.

  ### 41. AuthPoint easy to use, simple to administrate

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Will Y. | IT Support Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 07, 2019

**What do you like best about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

There are a load of features and integrations which I like about AuthPoint, the best feature I like is the PC Login app to lock PCs down to use 2FA, as it is simple to setup and install.

**What do you dislike about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

The one thing that I dislike about AuthPoint is the fact you can not use Azure Active Directory to sync users and have to set up to Local Active Directory, meaning that this solution is not yet available for cloud only users.

However, after a support chat with Watchguard, I was informed that this is a requested feature which is being worked on.

**What problems is WatchGuard AuthPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Securing access to all systems from unauthorised personal.

  ### 42. Product was responsive and easy to use and deploy

**What do you like best about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

The automatic logon with Windows, secured by the app on my phone.

**What do you dislike about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

Multi user access to a workstation, Allowing multiple techs to access a machine remotely was awkward.

**What problems is WatchGuard AuthPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Currently, against my preference we have opted to use Duo for MFA instead. so are not using it at the moment.

  ### 43. Difficult to setup but easy to use

**What do you dislike about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

I did not enjoy the setup side of this in the firewall.

**What problems is WatchGuard AuthPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We simply needed to add security for end users and this does it.

  ### 44. Authpoint

  ### 45. Works great, quite a bit faster than other 2FA applications.

**What do you like best about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

**What do you dislike about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

Sometimes causes issues with multi-user PCs when they try to switch users.

**What problems is WatchGuard AuthPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Increased security for organization.

  ### 46. Love it since the first beta

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 01, 2019

**What do you like best about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

First of all, I like the built-in 'MSP' approach option, that allows even the smallest shop without any tech knowledge, to get it implemented.
Second - push notifications. I never liked typing TOTP passwords in the hurry, that they won't expire before I finish. AuthPoint Push notification takes that away, as users only have to press a confirm button - and in the end, it's even safer! TOTP doesn't tell you, that someone is just trying to log in to your device, while Push notifications will let you know it immediately.

**What do you dislike about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

What I dislike is more on the side of authentication providers like Google, Linkedin and others - they only offer integration with SAML for business accounts, forcing you into TOTP for your personal accounts. Since the AuthPoint mobile app supports even these TOTP tokens, you don't need any additional TOTP app on your mobile device.

**What problems is WatchGuard AuthPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Biggest benefit is the higher acceptance for MFA, since it removes the annoying typing of OTP passwords.

  ### 47. Authpoint MFA

**What do you like best about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

Easy integration with Watchguard firewall

**What do you dislike about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

Can't do authentication via text message, duo can.

**What problems is WatchGuard AuthPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Increased security for external authenticating users.

  ### 48. Watchguard Authpoint

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 06, 2019

**What do you like best about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

Setting up users in Authpoint is quick and easy. The activation process for the end user is relatively pain free.

**What do you dislike about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

Setting everything up initially was a little bit of a pain, and getting it to function with Active Directory and such.

**What problems is WatchGuard AuthPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has added an extra layer of security that is necessary in today's world.

  ### 49. Simply the best, easy to implement and use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Peter J. | General Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

The Admin Surface. It´s so easy and intuitive to use and
the APP which I can also use for other systems like Amazon, Facebook or Google.

**What do you dislike about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

Well what should I say if I have no Point that I dislike ... nothing.

**What problems is WatchGuard AuthPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Because we have customer sensitive datas on our systems we need an secure access to our systems. Equal to logon to the Notebook or using the VPN. With AuthPoint the implemantion and the use is so easy. We love the APP and the usage.

  ### 50. Authpoint has changed my mind on multi-factor authentication.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vaughn W. | Information Security and Technology Advisor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 08, 2019

**What do you like best about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

Logging into my computer is quicker with Authpoint than typing in my complex password. All I have to do is hit "Enter" on my keyboard and "Approve" on my phone!

**What do you dislike about WatchGuard AuthPoint?**

Because I won't be using my password, I'll likely forget it. This is not really a dislike, more like an "undocumented feature".

**Recommendations to others considering WatchGuard AuthPoint:**

It works flawlessly. Online, offline, either way still easier to use than typing in passwords.

**What problems is WatchGuard AuthPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Authpoint ensures that only I can access my user account on my PC.
