I love how the plugin keeps track of how many times my social media posts are shared, and also it makes it easy for people to find my social links to share more easily. Promoting sharing on social media gets my content out there in front of more people, and it brings more people back to my website. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes, I like to clone a post and reuse some of the content. I especially do this when I am posting show notes for a podcast episode. It is so much easier to start with much of the content already in place where I can make the appropriate adjustments. The issue comes up in cloning a post. If the post already has shares counted by Warfare, the share count is copied to the new post. This gives false information about how many times a post is shared. Of course, this might be seen as a feature to someone who wants it to look like a new post has been shared many times, but it makes the data less useful to me to know which posts to focus my energy on optimizing. I love that Social Warfare (pro version) makes it easy to add a specific image and description for Pinterest and other social media sharing. The "Click to Tweet" feature is also great (when I remember to use it), and the sharing buttons are beautiful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Updating the plugin is a frustrating experience at best, and sometimes completely terrifying. I hold my breathe every time. One update caused my entire dashboard to vanish. I had to have tech support go in through FTP and delete it. I don't like that the pro version requires two plugins, and the second one inevitably fails. When that happens, you have to go to Warfare Plugins, log in, download the pro version, delete the old one from your site, upload and install, reactivate, then cross your fingers that it works. I haven't updated it in a while because I talked to others who had issues and I don't have time to deal with problems. I actually just let my pro version license go because of all the glitches. I like many things about the Social Warfare plugin.
First off, it's easy to set up and is super user-friendly. No need to be techy to use it correctly.
It has tons of options for customizing the way the social share buttons look, so you can make them on brand to your website or just stick to the social network colors.
I like that I can pre-write what is to be included in each type of social shares caption. I like how easy it is to add a "Click to Tweet" button within blog posts, too.
Adding Pinterest buttons on images is simple to set up, as well.
Social Warfare is stylish, works great with my web theme and has good support.
Overall it's just easy to use and it's still effective. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
At one point Social Warfare was seriously slowing down the speed of my website, so I uninstalled it for a while.
However, I reinstalled it on my WordPress website over a month ago and it's not causing problems anymore. I assume they worked out a bug with one of their plugin updates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
