Infrastructure seems old and outdated which then relates to their poor support when things go haywire. We have had nothing but poor support from them when needing them the most. Minimum of jargon product names, so getting started is easy. Always adding new server locations. One of the very few (only?) cloud providers to give BGP-speaking capabilities. Customer service is responsive (within a few hours) and helpful. **What do you dislike about Vultr?** User access management for managing group/organization accounts could use some work. The current process allows you to add other users' email addresses under the main account as subusers - however, these email addresses cannot already be used for other vultr accounts. If you need to access multiple separate organization accounts, each will require a separate email address login. I'm always able to access the latest version, and upgrades are easy to perform. **What do you dislike about Vultr?** Vultr's managed Kubernetes service isn't as well supported as I'd like to see. I always get what I need from support eventually, but it usually takes an escalation. **What problems is Vultr solving and how is that benefiting you?** I'm diametrically opposed to giving Amazon money. When I first came to Vultr, it was to find an enterprise grade solution for IaaS that allowed me to bring my own IP subnets for a global video CDN, while avoiding using AWS. When Cloudflare offered an incredibly competitive (free) solution, I retooled my existing Vultr deploymetn to use their managed Kubernetes solution when it was offered for beta. A little dated UI for backend **What problems is Vultr solving and how is that benefiting you?** We had an upcoming product. And we needed that our infrastructure has SOC 2 Type 2/ ISO 27001 / HIPAA compliance. We used Digital Ocean first. But, DO doesn't even have basic compliances. We reached out to Vultr India's Business head, Vaibhav and he helped us immediately and is very communicative and responds within minutes to our queries. We finally found that all the compliances that we did need were met by Vultr only in the VPS space. Linode and Digital Ocean fail the compliance part compltely. If not Vultr, then your only option is to go with AWS and Google Cloud or any other cloud provider and they will burn a hole in your pocket. So, Vultr really helped us with the compliance part and we are glad that they now offer Kubernetes also. The only thing I would like to be able to do that I can't currently do is easily scale specific metrics without doubling my commitment. Need RAM? Sure. Need space? Sure. Need CPUs? Sure. AND best of all, it's not a place where you've got to upsize EVERYTHING to get more of the thing you need more of. Their Block Storage is awesome, huge, reliable, and also supremely flexible. They have support for every major Linux distro, FreeBSD, and OpenBSD. And, where the BSDs are concerned, it's *actually baked into* their service offerings. It's not just oh, yah, here are the steps to kinda sorta make it work. The new managed MySQL 8.x offerings are super affordable--especially given that they're taking the MySQL management need entirely off you and your team. Lastly, let's talk speed and reliability. We've had three ISPs for several years for a variety of different tasks, Vultr being one of them. In less than two years we had THREE major incidents with one of our other ISPs. In the same time, there were zero with Vultr. And, in moving the last four servers out of the other ISP into Vultr we saw (no hyperbole) ~50% savings and 200% - 500% performance GAIN in the process. **What do you dislike about Vultr?** I wish they had phone support. The ticket-based system is generally somewhere between "very good" and "excellent", but being able to pick up the phone and *talk* through things can sometimes be a huge time saver. **What problems is Vultr solving and how is that benefiting you?** They cut our costs, improved our infrastructure's reliability and uptime, and gave us better performance in the process. Almost no learning is required. Its user experience is very cleverly designed so that the features you need can be accessed quickly. Vultr is pay-as-you-go, so I tend to spend a very small amount of money on a very high-profile server for a day of study. Compared to Microsoft Azure, Vultr can create virtual machines easier, cheaper, and easier to debug. It has VNC capabilities. And Vultr's machine will correctly identify its own public IP. Therefore, it is very suitable for learning, experimenting, and deploying open source applications.So for me, using Vultr is great for learning, developing, experimenting, trying new projects. Its server environment is almost ideal. It's fair to say: if an application doesn't work well on Vultr, chances are it won't work well elsewhere. **What do you dislike about Vultr?** But Vultr also has some disadvantages: no Hong Kong, no support for large-scale scale, no support for database services, etc. The network from Vultr is not having very good experience, especially in China. **What problems is Vultr solving and how is that benefiting you?** So for me, using Vultr is great for learning, developing, experimenting, trying new projects. Many, many products, they really try to offer everything possible.it's like a menu of 47 pages at a restaurant. In a way they're similar to Linode, but with more of everything and options. Azure, GCP and AWS offer the same products, with far less reactivity and 10x the price. **What do you dislike about Vultr?** I have no complaint so far. Been using them for over a year and sales are reactive, support is fast and efficient, products are super stable, rules are fair and square. **What problems is Vultr solving and how is that benefiting you?** I needed virtual stuff that is stable and doesn't cost an arm. Their website/management interface is pretty nice and easy to use. **What do you dislike about Vultr?** Their customer service is pretty bad - They don't have any technicians available on holidays or weekends, so when (not if) your Vultr instances experience downtime or extreme packet loss, you may not hear from anyone for 48 hours+. When you do hear from them, the issue gets fixed then they immediately tell you there was nothing wrong. Before they fix it though, they make you provide MTRs and pings to prove the downtime without actually doing any of it themselves - They like it when you do their jobs for them. We spent thousands a month with them for quite a while on a LOT of virtual servers, and have close to a hundred tickets to prove it.
