Easy to manage from the vCloud portal. Pretty simple interface that can be figured out by just clicking through. Did not have to really go through a training or admin guide. Everything is pretty straight forward. vApps and the VM's themselves could be confusing to some people I suppose. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The design of the portal could be better. I would like a little cleaner interface. Maybe a tree design structure. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The industry Standard hypervisor. Lots of resources available for issues, tech support is generally fast. The product itself is a solid foundation for VM.
The number of 3rd Party applications is great, its been around long enough to be fine tuned. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Can become very complicated for a small SMB or small IT department without dedicated VMware team. The product is somewhat straight forward Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The GUI interface that allows the network admins to handle number of virtual machines. All the virtual machines can be handled in a single window without affecting our current work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Need improvement in terms of resource planning and allocations. It should allow the user to make changes for the resource allocation without switching off the virtual machines. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

vSphere serves as our single pane of glass dashboard for our hypervisor environment. Adoption by all other major vendors has provided us with plug-ins to manage the majority of our infrastructure using vSphere instead of having appliance access to every single product. The product updates are timely and substantial in nature, generally providing a huge bump in functionality with a limited learning curve. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
In newer versions of the software the web console is the recommended access method. It's not as user friendly and there are many plug-ins that don't yet work. The licensing model has been a constant source of headache for the past few years, it seems VMware is yet to figure out exactly how they want to license their various products and vSphere is no exception. We don't mind the cost of the product, but the changing licensing model does cause an issue with forecasting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The ability to view multiple virtual machines from one location and be able to monitor and switch from one to the other in a matter of seconds. That it connects to Active Directory for permissions on who can see/modify what. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It took a little bit of using the product before I had a good grasp on how to use it correctly, but once I was over that hurdle it worked well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
