It's been around forever, meaning support is easy to find and everyone in the industry is at least familiar with it. Fairly simple install, and very stable overall. VMWare is a huge, reputable company, so you know it's not going anywhere. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Performance seems to be on the lower side, when compared to Hyper-V. The GUI to manage things (VSphere) is lacking, when compared to Hyper-V. Definitely not my favorite. We have since switched basically everything over to Hyper-V. I feel more secure and safe having everything on Microsoft's platform, as well as liking the interface MUCH more.
