9 out of 10 Total Reviews for Vivado Design Suite

If I enjoy creating complex digital circuits and seeing my projects come to life, Vivado Design Suite provides a comprehensive platform to explore and develop my hardware design skills. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I might not appreciate the initially steep learning curve of the Vivado Design Suite, especially if I'm transitioning from other design tools or if I'm new to the field of hardware design. The wide range of features and the complexity of the interface can seem overwhelming at first, requiring time and effort to fully familiarize myself with all the software's functionalities. The software has a great integration with MATLAB/SIMULINK, and therefore can be use for Hardware-in-the-Loop implementations, which is a great feature for prototyping embedded systems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The first steps to utilize and understand the software are a bit harsh. There could be more practical examples to enhance the user's experience and stimulate the user to continue to utilize the software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Intuitive interface being easy to learn to use, multi-platforms so that the user can choose which one they want to use, performance optimization so that the user can optimize the performance of their design. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
High usage of the system such as CPU, RAM, and disk space, high cost of the license, compatibility with older software, dependency on Xilinx. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

This software is the best learning tool of all for student learning purposes and has so many features Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The cost is a little bit high according to educational purposes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Vivado is miles ahead of the competition in the FPGA development space. Vivado was produced and is maintained by Xilinx, one of the largest manufacturers of FPGAs in the world, making it the "go-to" in that space. It includes everything an embedded FPGA engineer could want, including (but not limited to) in-context file editing, high-level synthesis, bitstream management, and simulation. Especially on Windows operating systems, the Vivado Design Suite tends to become buggy after extended periods of use, forcing the user to either restart Vivado or re-create the project. While this is not as much of an issue on Linux systems, the problem still does exist. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

This software is mainly used for synthesis of your code and generating a bit file through which we can check our code on PCB board. So, it's an excellent tool for the electronics industry. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It takes a lot of time for generating and synthesis of the code that we feed in and it requires a lot of space, so mainly time and space complexity is a major issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The Vivado Design Suite is an all-in-one software that allows users to design and implement FPGAs created by Xilinx. The software is well-designed and user-friendly, allowing users to write RTL codes in VHDL, Verilog, and System Verilog Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is a bit hard to get into and initially get a hang of. So for beginners it may be daunting to get acclimated to the ecosystem. However, the UI and and the overall ease of access of things make it worth the intial grind. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

1- VIVADO Design suite is all in one software that a person can use to design and implement the FPGA's designed by XILINX.
2- It is a very well-designed software that is also very user-friendly.
2- We can write RTL codes in "VHDL, Verilog, System Verilog." Simulate the design, can see the gate-level netlists, and do the complete implementation till bit file generation.
3- We can also use the software to do the hardware level testing connecting it to different FPGA's by XILINX and can see how the code written by the user is behaving/giving outputs.
4- It can also be used to do timing analysis.
5- Both PS and PL parts of XILINX FPGAs can be configured using the software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The software can be improved if we can also take the simulation output in .csv format. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are many things that I like about Vivado:
1. Too many helpful IPs, with example designs and documentations.
2. Coding Guidlines (Layout available).
3. Regular updates.
4. Improved drastically wrt previous year releases.
5. Best UI.
6. Block Design support makes it easier to integrate RTLs and IPs visually. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have seen a few synthesis errors that do not show up until implementation. I have had many situations when multiple driven nets errors didn't appear at all, and Vivado generated the ".bit" file. Due to this, I had faced a lot of problems in the past.
Some of the Vivado IPs lack proper explanation in the documentation.
Their forum support for most complex IPs is a little less. I would expect better support for complex IPs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
