We work with technologically challenged faculty in higher education and they are taking to this platform very quickly. The staff at VidGrid has been the most responsive I have ever experienced in the industry. Fast turnaround times and extremely responsive to user feedback! Really love working with them! A++ **What do you dislike about VidGrid?** There is nothing I dislike about this company. There have been a few times where it took a bit of time to isolate a technological issue; but even that was less than a week turnaround time. I would expect nothing less of other tech companies looking to isolate a similar issue. In our case we had some duplicate videos coming in from our Zoom integration. But it only took a week to resolve. Most of our other requests they have figured out in less than a day, sometimes even screensharing with us as they troubleshoot the issue. **Recommendations to others considering VidGrid:** VidGrid has been easy to use and has offered some of the quickest and highest quality customer service I have ever experienced in this industry. They are always coming up with new ideas and they actively crowdsource feature requests from their end users. I would recommend them to anyone considering high quality customer service, quick turnarounds, and a video platform that checks all of the right boxes. A++ **What problems is VidGrid solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use VidGrid to host our educational video content for professors teaching courses in higher education. We also use it for screencasts and video tutorials. It has been incredibly useful as a tool to train our faculty on how to use our technologies. Originally we only planned on implementing it for instructors, but students and staff have already found it helpful for creating tutorial videos on how to do various things online at our university. Their integrations with LMS's, willingness to listen to the users, extensive tutorial and support services, dedication to pushing the envelope in adding new incredible features, and devotion to maintaining accessibility have made this a top-priority budget item for my Distance Education/Educational Technology Department. **What do you dislike about VidGrid?** To be totally honest, there is almost nothing to dislike about VidGrid. Any time I have any trouble, discover a bug, or wish there was something -- I recommend it and they usually respond with implementation or a timeline. Right now I'm really hoping for a Chromebook extension since we have a lot of Chromebooks on campus. **Recommendations to others considering VidGrid:** Do a trial, take it for a spin... you won't regret it! **What problems is VidGrid solving and how is that benefiting you?** Education is increasingly going online and it is imperative that educators have the ability to place their lecture or other content in our LMS to be available for students in the online environment. I've always felt like my job was to get faculty to create video, and if I've done that then I've been successful. Prior to VidGrid this was an arduous task because of the complexity of software, installations, or manipulation/editing of video content. VidGrid makes it dead simple for faculty to create videos with their recorder. Because the creation process is so easy, more videos are being utilized in distance courses and I'm able to spend last time on the "how" and instead focus on how they can improve that video content. ### 8. In my role, it is helpful to make a quick recording and send it off to whoever has requested my assistance. People at my institution love to receive a quick tutorial video rather than a long email explaining how to do something. The instructors here love that the guest recorder, and the annotation tools, and especially that it integrates with Canvas. I love the customer support. Ryan and all of the other people running support have made our lives so much easier by providing solutions when we run into an issue. They are responsive and polite. **What do you dislike about VidGrid?** The integration with Canvas pop-up for embedding videos used to be a video grid with thumbnail previews, but now it is a list with video titles, which is fine, but some instructors say it is difficult to recall which video (they want to see the thumbnail). It's a minor issue. **Recommendations to others considering VidGrid:** This is a good option for institutions who need something that their users can easily learn. I recommend it for higher education, in particular. The guest recorder is a great tool. Your faculty will enjoy making videos and how easy it is for them to embed the content into their course. **What problems is VidGrid solving and how is that benefiting you?** I find it much easier to send a tutorial video instead of a written-out email of instruction. Our instructors have used the tool to record lectures, PowerPoint presentations and upload other media to flip their class or to add media to their online courses. We have enabled SSO, which makes video access one click away from intranet sites. Most of our personnel are able to create good video content with little more than login instructions. The recorder can be launched right from the task ribbon, ready to record. User support is great and very responsive. **What do you dislike about VidGrid?** I have no real pain points with ilos. There are a few times when I think it would be nice to have the ability to do more with audio within the edit mode (e.g. add a soundtrack) but we have not actually needed that for our use. **What problems is VidGrid solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use ilos for video content in our training modules. I have never had a professor or student who I could not get ilos working for them. That is an extraordinary thing in todays environment of constant browser and Operating system updates, and over-eager virus and malware software. Their customer support is the best I have ever encountered by a very large margin. Whatever device You want to capture or upload from just works, and looks great. Creating an easy to share, watch, and stat track video has just never been more simple. ilos has their act together and are poised to explode and rock the education and training world with their excellent product. Get on board now! **What do you dislike about VidGrid?** It's not really a dislike, but I'd love if ilos developed a larger capacity as an all in one solution Video Content Manager as well. They'd do it very, very well. I am confident of that. Faculty have no issues picking up ilos. I am able to teach ilos to faculty who would usually be afraid to use new technologies. Additionally, recording with ilos is fast. Simply click the ilos icon on your desktop, and the recorder opens in seconds and is ready to record. **What do you dislike about VidGrid?** The analytics screen could use some work. The number of hours and minutes of Closed Captioning used do not seem to sort correctly. **What problems is VidGrid solving and how is that benefiting you?** The list of problems I use ilos on is unbelievable. I utilize ilos to maintain my departments Knowledge Base of video tutorials; ilos' "replace" feature is instrumental in updating videos when other platforms we use update their User Interface. We have also utilized ilos to replace live lecture recording. Before we could only capture so much footage of faculty lectures with one person and one camera, and now we can provide many faculty with as much footage as they wish. Additionally, we are able to use ilos to create quick technical troubleshooting videos; our server administrators use ilos to help those who are not as technologically inclined to set up wireless printers and access network shared files. ilos is amazing. Finally, ilos allows our institution to meet ADA 508 compliance with their Closed Captioning service. ### 27. Customer service ans support is very responsive and helpful. **What do you dislike about VidGrid?** It is not a deal breaker, but I wish that video permissions were auto set to be restricted to the course enrollments for the course the item is embedded in automatically. **Recommendations to others considering VidGrid:** Cost effective, with licensing model that allows you to ramp up usage over time. **What problems is VidGrid solving and how is that benefiting you?** The biggest problem we are solving is getting easy, seamless access to course videos for students. This is so much better than our previous solution. This has cut down on student frustration, help desk support tickets and has helped with student engagement and retention. ### 31. Working with the Ilos team in those early days we were amazed at how well the team worked with us to quash the bugs, develop the product and how they ensured that it was a perfect fit for our requirements. As a screen recording tool it is now second to none in terms of quality of output and usability. The ability to pause recording during recording was invaluable in our use case as it was then. The platform that sits around the screen recording mechanism is excellent, allowing great flexibility in reporting, sharing and collaborating with the team. **What do you dislike about VidGrid?** There really isn't much to dislike about Ilos as a company or as a screen recording tool. **Recommendations to others considering VidGrid:** You absolutely have to look at Ilos Videos if you want to share best practice video content or screen recordings. It has a multitude of use cases from IT Support to Sales, from Internal Communications to Employee Education.
