I think that Vevox is by far the best platform for the following reasons: Major pros: - versatility of questions you can ask (for instance, I wanted the audience to guess a number on a scale from 0 to 1 with 2 decimal places and display a histogram of the guesses along with an average guess- I can tell you that no other platform was capable of anything close to this) - plugin for PowerPoint works like a charm- (you do not need to upload your presentation to some Vevox online platform and display it from there, instead, Vevox plugs into your PowerPoint and you can add the questions between your slides. This is really important because the way your slides work outside PowerPoint is not uniform and some features like animations may not work in and online environment, some formatting may not be the same, etc.) Minor pros: - ease of audience connection to the platform (there is the QR code and then there is the web address where a session ID can be entered) - even the free version has more features and works better than the free versions of other platforms - great customer support **What do you dislike about Vevox?** For the results to be displayed properly you need to have a Vevox Plugin installed on the PowerPoint that your presentation is being played from. If you are presenting at a conference, this means that you need to check with the organizer of the conference that they install Vevox upfront or ask that you display the presentation from your own laptop where you have Vevox Plugin installed. You also need to be connected to the internet (obviously). I think it's very easy to get up and running without much of a learning curve. I really appreciate their customer support, and access to our account manager, including regular meetings, which has made university-wide implementation possible. We love Joe Probert, who has provided us with many levels of excellent support over the last year. It was great to have the support of our customer success manager, Joe, for the initial setup. **What do you dislike about Vevox?** The PowerPoint integration is a bit unstable and I wish the interface would be improved like the dashboard access. Once i created the profile i immediately manage to create a quiz and to use a variety of features in order to customize it with no problem. So i would say i saved a lot of time and gave me flexibility because of its features in order to create a quiz game. And also very very very good support. **What do you dislike about Vevox?** Nothing to dislike in vevox. As i said it is very user friendly. About the features maybe i would suggest if they can somehow integrate more music options ( maybe synced with spotify for example) That would be really helpful in order to have more music options. And also, another suggestion it would be to have an <> option for the features that seem on the screen in order to be able to customize with more details. Vevox solved our hands because from our research it was the platform that gave us the most flexibility ( about features) in order to create it. A lot of platforms had restrictions to some points. Definitely near the top of the list is the fantastic support provided by the Vevox team. Since becoming a Vevox customer six years ago, our university has continued to have a strong and mutually beneficial relationship with Vevox. The team are invested in our success, and go above and beyond to check in, support and encourage our usage of the platform. The platform itself has a fantastic UI, the best of any similar product on the market. It is fresh, clean, modern, intuitive and so easy to use. This is vital for university lecturers, many of whom would not have strong digital skills, so being able to quickly and easily pick up a digital tool for their teaching is so important. Lastly, the continuous, steady development of new features for Vevox is another fantastic dimension of the platform. Depending on my teaching schedule I would say I use Vevox a couple times a week; definitely each time I have a lecture! I like using it not just for real-time learning checkpoints in the classroom (very handy to see where my students are at), but also, it can be good for asking e.g. students' input/thoughts via word clouds and also for responses to survey questions (even course feedback). Thanks to Fraser Hill for recently reaching out for a 1-on-1 as well, as it can be really helpful to talk through things and also hear about the latest updates (rather than always feel like you have to try to find time to read up on them via a weblink). I'm looking forward to using the new-ish 'before/after comparisons' option! **What do you dislike about Vevox?** They do regular updates and they also do try to check in with 1-on-1 chats, so if there is anything I don't like I can always mention it, rather than 'live with it'. One thing I personal don't like is the aesthetics of a Vevox poll (MCQ style) when using their plug-in, in PowerPoint. It still looks better than what we as an institution had before (competitor's software!), but I do understand there are some restrictions to what Vevox can and can't do in this respect. Just to note, they are working on it, is my understanding. In any case, I choose to share (on the second screen) the web version of my Vevox session for the students and it works pretty well. If anyone is interested, student feedback is pretty positive for use of Vevox in the classroom: students usually say it's 'fun', 'engaging', 'helps assess understanding', 'helps identify knowledge gaps', and so on. **What problems is Vevox solving and how is that benefiting you?** First and foremost, it helps with the drop in attention as the clocks ticks on during a given lecture. No matter how engaging we try to be as educators, a 9am start time can be tricky to navigate. In-class 'fun' tools, such as Vevox, really helps me to create a time-out and sort of hit the refresh button. Interestingly, I have noticed (from a quick headcount) that not all students present in the room may log into Vevox (and this is something I am interested in exploring further), but engagement is nonetheless high with this tool and the variety of Qs we as educators can ask via Vevox can be really helpful. One of the things I like to do, as an example, is check student's knowledge and sense of Déjà vu. Yep; I like to usually for revision polls, re-use previous Vevox Qs, from earlier on in term, and then drop hints that they've seen this before...
