## Vev Reviews
  ### 1. Versatile and powerful tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Graphic Design | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Vev?**

Vev is an intuitive and versatile tool that allows a non-programmer to design and publish a website from scratch with interactive capabilities. Setting up animated features like scrollytelling videos and parallax effect that make the webpage dynamic is quick and easy. The keyboard shortcuts are very useful and make the design flow smooth.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

The components section is glitchy at times, even after updating the master component the changes don't always reflect on all the instances. I'd love to see some simple features like rulers similar to the adobe products.
It would be nice to have

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are producing beautiful custom web pages for clients and projects without putting too many resources within quick turnaround times.

It's easy to learn. Once you understand the basics of Vev, the things you can build are pretty impressive.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

It tends to be a little buggy from time to time, which can be frustrating

  ### 4. We are certainly getting there

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** July 06, 2020

**What do you like best about Vev?**

I like the freedom Vev gives me. The design part is very good.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

It has been a long journey, but the Vev team is finally getting there. Things have improved dramatically over the years and now it looks better than ever.

**Recommendations to others considering Vev:**

Give it a try

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

You can create more unique layouts.

  ### 5. Paint a canvas without knowing anything about art

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Erik G. | Marketing Automation Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2021

**What do you like best about Vev?**

The freedom and simplicity of designing a web page. It is an easy tool to start using and with some practice you can start doing pretty advanced things so the pages looks really good. Since we are a big company and have in-house developers we can customize the platform relatively painless and make sure it works with our other platforms. The VEV platform is quite good in offering self development quite easy.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

It takes some training in order to get the design working on various screen size. In order to fully use the platform you would most likely need to do some development on modules so you can integrate the system with your tech stack. If you dont have a big tech stack and uses the most popular tools it is likely that a integration already exists.

**Recommendations to others considering Vev:**

Make sure to do templates that you can reuse and extensive testing to optimize look and feel across all screen sizes

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating beautiful landing pages in a quick maner without having putting too much resources behind it.

  ### 6. Vev Review - 7/10

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Publishing | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 18, 2022

**What do you like best about Vev?**

I like the page navigation arrows, menus, and capability to use almost any font. I'm able to make almost any style of design and use images and videos to elevate the reader's experience. I've also enjoyed using the shapes and icons.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

Glitches in text boxes, specifically when using multiple formats. Example: superscripts and bullet points and a paragraph setting all in one textbox can cause major glitches, like all of your copy being superscript and or causing copy to disappear completely. The popup menu moves around a lot when you select one area of copy, so you have to wait for it to stop moving around, then click, or else risk choosing superscript when you just wanted to bold something. There are also problems with VEV's general format being updated drastically, rather than incremental updates, which forces the user to take time to relearn the platform and still meet work deadlines. Especially with regards to copy editing.

**Recommendations to others considering Vev:**

It helps if you have a general background of website design. It's also very helpful to save as much as you can in your templates before working on a project that might be published, so that you can have design elements ready to paste into your project. Also, if you happen upon a glitch, report it right away, because its likely happening for others.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Innovation, being able to upgrade my brand to a more interactive experience. The options for video and image parallax make a dynamic visual experience for my readers.

  ### 7. Great for those who need to build landing pages and websites without a web developer.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sam G. | Creative Lead, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2022

**What do you like best about Vev?**

The functionality and the cost. Performs just as you'd expect, for a fraction of the price of other competitors like Ceros. It makes creating landing pages and websites easy for someone with no coding experience.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

The response time on their live chat can sometimes be lengthy. I have waited up to 2 days for a reply before. They usually will reply within a few hours, but when my issue is urgent, then it can become a pain.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When I first found Vev, I didn't want to commit to employing a web developer financially. Vev allowed me to create the project landing pages and websites without a web developer.

  ### 8. The best thing that happened to Webdisign, ever!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gerhard T. | MSI Sales Development, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Vev?**

Great intuitivity! You can focus on the idea, the design, do not have to think about restrictions in the early stages of the design process. You will automatically focus on telling the right story rather than stocking and organizing information.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

Sometimes problems with independency on Web/Tablet/Mob design, but Vev is usually very fast with fixing and developing.
Business model with payment per project creates problems with larger blog sites which publish a lot of stories.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Beeing modern in expression and style!
Saving time due to easy to use and user friendly interface.
Staying ahead of the crowd by utilizing new possibilities.
Using short stories as Direct Marketing tools.

  ### 9. wildly flexible

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dan M. | Co Owner and Creative Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Vev?**

A non coder designers black box of widgets to allow almost anything to be built. With great personal service to get you over the hump on projects. I have always loved CEROS but no way I can afford it VEV gives me all those tools and more for less money.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

they are working hard to push new features that have a few bugs along the way. So it is a bit wonky at times.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Created an interactive video that feels a little like wirewax. Able to get clients' ideas quickly because I don't have to wait for a developer to help me.

  ### 10. Great tool for making good-looking sites

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lars Marius M. | Content Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 05, 2022

**What do you like best about Vev?**

I like the user-friendliness of the interface. It's easy to make good-looking sites with a broad range of features.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

The app has a tendency to encounter bugs and glitches, which can be frustrating at times.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vev is helping us make sites in a quick tempo and with lots of opportunities for customization.

  ### 11. Vev - For developers and content creators

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 13, 2022

**What do you like best about Vev?**

Vev is designed to be used by both developers and content creators. Pixel perfect designs with rast content editing.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

There's not much to dislike. With a growing under base, the software will continue improving as it has already.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Developing personal and professional websites.

  ### 12. My experiences with VEV

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Publishing | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Vev?**

Ease of use. It is effortless to make updates and changes to a project on the fly.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

There is a complete lack of documentation on the software. The end-user is left to discover how each setting or widget works. It is very frustrating. VEV needs to make documentation on how each section works. They need how-to videos for the end-user as well.

**Recommendations to others considering Vev:**

Developers are very nice and are willing to help fix various bugs and issues that arise.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm left to solve a lot of my problems on my own. Again, without any clear documentation on how to use VEV and the widgets, I have to figure out simple things, like text formatting for a widget.

  ### 13. One of the most versatile tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** ashita b. | Senior Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 05, 2022

**What do you like best about Vev?**

Quickest tool to build complex websites with interactive capabilities

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

Some of the addons get glitchy when working between different screen sizes

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Troubleshooting and chat support

  ### 14. I Have several colleagues trying to catch up with me in VeV. They are struggling.

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Erik H. | Content Management Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Vev?**

The easy imageupload and easy accses to project images for re-use later in the project.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

Not that intuitive, not stable, often bugs making "screen shaking and jumping" Terrible in dynamic response between Phone, widescreen, laptop screens & pad

**Recommendations to others considering Vev:**

Really find out if Shorthand is a cheaper and better product if your employees are short on time and not an educated designers.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy to upload on-page / several pages. Easy log-in.

  ### 15. A Digital Experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amy A. | Editor-in-Chief, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2021

**What do you like best about Vev?**

My favorite part of VEV is the interactive capabilities that transform reading the e-Magazine into an experience. I am excited to finally be able to add the "digital" aspect to our digital editions rather than just having a digital version of a print product for our readers to view on the screen.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

The content editor is not user-friendly - the cursor doesn't always appear when you click on the copy, there isn't a good way to create a pdf for proofing, and the formatting changes randomly when you make changes. For example, if you separate one line into two, the rest of the font after it becomes really small. I have also found that there is a lag in changes - when you make changes within the editor, they do not appear immediately on the dummy link.
While I like that there are so many different options within VEV in terms of how you can animate pictures and texts and how you can have images appear in the background, etc., I wish there was some sort of template that could show us a variety of different options that we can choose from. There may be some areas of the e-magazine that would be optimized by a particular feature that VEV offers, but if we have never seen an example before, how will we ever implement the idea?
I really don't like that you have to use an external mouse in order to use the content editor.

**Recommendations to others considering Vev:**

Definitely use an external mouse. If you are having trouble finding your cursor within the test, I have found that if you click somewhere near a heading, it usually works better.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I cannot see an accurate view of the e-Magazine on using the dummy link. Support has suggested deleting extensions, using an incognito window, and clearing the cache - none of which have remedied the situation.
Some of the benefits that I like about using this platform over the previous version we had is that you can tie certain parts of the magazine together using anchors or other links that connect within the e-magazine rather than having to link to our website, which pulls readers away from the monthly issue.

  ### 16. Gamechanger

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Elizabeth P. | Managing Editor, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 18, 2022

**What do you like best about Vev?**

Vev had given a needed refresh to our digital magazine. I like that you can make eye-catching pages, including cover pages, for the eMagazine.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

Sometimes it is tough to input text, for certain boxes.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Problem: we needed a refresh for our eMagazine. Benefits: eye-catching pages, more readers.

  ### 17. I’m not the most experienced coder, but I can make beautiful reactive sites using VEV

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** K P. | Marketing, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 22, 2021

**What do you like best about Vev?**

The layers panel is familiar to me as it's similar to various graphic design software. I also like the various animations and one click add ons. Being able to use it on any computer without installing software (and needing licenses!) is a huge plus.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

I have run into bugs when trying to add new views or presets to my reactive layouts when mid project. I would also like the images popup to have more view/sorting options, perhaps one with small thumbnails and file names.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am more of an visual artist than a programmer but don't want to rely on web designers for microsites or Shopify for my e-commerce. My workflow is far more self sufficient.

  ### 18. Unique platform with some growing pains

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Management Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Vev?**

The ability to create clean visual content and then be able to export it along with all the necessary scripts and assets. This lets us deploy to any independent platform we want. For simple websites it's very efficient. Also, the editor is pretty simple and straightforward, not a very steep learning curve.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

The pricing plan for site exporting and deploying is complicated and seems far more complicated than is necessary. We've basically given up trying to understand our invoices for that part of the platform. I don't think it's worth charging for ZIP export on (basically) a per transaction basis - exports should just be a feature of the pricing plan level.

**Recommendations to others considering Vev:**

There are some extremely powerful web content development platforms, and anyone using Vev are aware of them. Vev is a great tool and does it's job really well, but it has a pretty narrow value proposition (my opinion obviously). If you are looking for a streamlined tool for creating HTML content and have straightforward use cases, Vev is great. The fact that you can export for use on other hosting platforms is the "killer feature". If you don't need to have that portability of the code and scripts, I'm not sure that Vev is differentiated enough from other mainstream platforms with much deeper design feature sets. So the biggest piece of advice would be to really ask yourself what you need out of the platform... if portable code is not part of your core requirements I'm not sure there is compelling value in the Vev platform.

The other issue to consider is code integration. Vev has a lot of bullet points about integrating your own code (JS, React, etc.) into their platform but the support documents and examples are really thin. If you are expecting to use this functionality you may be disappointed in the amount of work needed to get this done.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're developing fairly simple websites, 1 or 2 pages, with clean visual styles. Our biggest challenge was finding a platform that supported basic animations and other effects and also let us export for use independently.

  ### 19. This is a platform for people who value the design capabilities of a static site builder

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Entertainment | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Vev?**

It comes with many pre-built animation features that you can easily add to elements on a page. It also allows you to write the code and export the files to host the site anywhere you wish. You can place DOM elements anywhere on a page and move them around freely. The pages load pretty fast as well.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

You can't design a responsive page in one session. I have to constantly change a page created for a desktop screen size to make it work on mobile screens and vice versa. The platform could be a lot more intuitive to use without requiring to read their incomplete manual that doesn't cover all the possible issues one will encounter. And I can never understand why companies in Europe that cater to an international customer base don't offer 24/7 support. The last time I needed help, their response was sporadic because most of their staff were on vacation. I am all for work-life balance, but they need to have enough staff to respond when a customer needs help within a reasonable time, and in this industry, reasonable means within 2 hours, not two days. I stopped using Tilda for the same reason. A great platform is of no value if no one is there to help you when you need it.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have no coding skills, and this platform allows me to build a page in five hours that a "developer" would claim needs at least fifteen hours of skilled labor to accomplish.

  ### 20. Review after evaluating Ceros

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Vev?**

The component section builds that make this feel like a real interactive website. There are also some more sophisticated animation features like scrollytelling videos and parallax/zoom options that are easy additions. The VEV publishing was also able to get setup so that we didn't have to use an EMBED in our site and all the limitations that presented... we were able to just publish direct to our site which for our team was great since it allowed us to skip a complicated and lengthy internal publishing process within our company.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

Definitely some hiccups to getting things working. It took some troubleshooting for the VEV team to get some of the animations that look good in preview to translate to our particular site. Would also like to see more custom object animation control.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are trying to get interactive created quickly and published which has been a slow point when going through our web team directly since they are usually busy on other things. Our designers don't have the technical expertise to build interactive in Javascript so VEV was a great affordable shortcut.

  ### 21. A powerful tool for web design

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Online Media | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 24, 2022

**What do you like best about Vev?**

There are many functions to choose from depending on what you want to do.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

The learning curve can be rather steep and it takes a while to figure out how each function works.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using Vev to explore different ways to present articles and found that the video functions work well.

  ### 22. An excellent tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Research | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Vev?**

Vev's multiple perspectives on the same content is impressive and innovative. It does however present the Vev team with the challenge of making three separate experiences intuitive within the same interface, which is a huge challenge that you have done a good job at so far. I appreciate the amount of off the shelf components, and the existing tutorials and documentation. For a product that somehow feels in its infancy, I think that value is being added in the right places (I think...).

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

Likely due to the complexity of creating a three perspective WYSIWYG, there is a lack of intuitive clarity for many of the controls. There are icons/buttons that are not intuitive and require hovering to know what they do. For example the bi-directional arrows that sit between two other controls imply, due to their proximity to other button icons to the left and right, that if clicked it would switch something between the other buttons, not that it does whatever it does. There are quite a few icon choices that are not as refined as they could be, and sometimes interface elements are repeated on the same screen.

I am working with the code directly within Vev and there aren't enough tutorials in this area for a smooth understanding of how to integrate things together between the Vev world, the code you write, and the ultimate scrollytelling experience in the other perspectives.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The level of control is great due to the flexibility of the interface to operate at the level of control that you wish to work at. We have tried to use other scrollytelling tools, but this one offers us the least opinionated option of them all, most likely because it is not tied to an underlying previously existing and built upon service, such as ESRI storymaps being an extension of ESRIs other offerings.

  ### 23. A powerful platform that allows a non-programmer to quickly spin up a web site

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marc L. | Art Director / Designer / Illustrator, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Vev?**

Unlike similar platforms that I have used, Vev has object-level shared styles that affect objects and text. A user can define different values for each screen size.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

I would like to be able to change the type color within a text box. Occassionally, the switch to mobile size creates some headaches. I tried to make a side-scrolling site, but it would not translate properly to mobile.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Often our company needs to spin up a landing page to promote a new product or an event very quickly. Our devs are occupied with other ongoing projects. A designer can go in and design and develop at the same time.

  ### 24. Allows you to be creative

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maren H. | Graphic designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2022

**What do you like best about Vev?**

Vev is perfect for designers! I no longer have to limit my web design ideas, as Vev allows me to do what I envision.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

Some bugs. Forgiveable, as Vev is constantly improving and the support team is great.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can make better web sites for my clients

  ### 25. Highly recommended!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stefan N. | Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2021

**What do you like best about Vev?**

Vev is every digital designers dream. It's userface is very intuitive and you are able to make stunning designs.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

To be honest there is nothing about Vev I don't like!

**Recommendations to others considering Vev:**

It's simply the best No-Code I've experienced in my career. If something is missing it's easy to implement your own code.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy access to great design.

  ### 26. VeV designs are so much more responsive

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Media Production | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Vev?**

How much better layouts look in mobile and tablet as well as desktop.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

Functionality of the way the parameters are entered into elements and animations is a bit confusing.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Responsive design, better support, simpler to design after Ceros.

  ### 27. Vev recommendation

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Logistics and Supply Chain | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Vev?**

The templates to build from are intuitive and easy to manage.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

The amount of security available for the end product could be more clearly stated. Security is a big deal when it comes to building things like this.

**Recommendations to others considering Vev:**

Make sure your IT department is okay with Vev's credentials and end product.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to create more dynamic landing pages to get info across to customers.

  ### 28. VEV review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Publishing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Vev?**

After a brief learning curve i find VEV very intuitive and enjoyable to create with.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

Coming from a print design background I sometimes find things a bit wonky. It would be nice to have similar features to InDesign and the other Adobe products.

**Recommendations to others considering Vev:**

VEV is a very powerful tool in creating interactive online content and experiences. It requires some training to learn the advanced features but can easily be used right away to create dynamic websites.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our company cut it's huge print and snail mail expenses by using VEV for our Magazine creation. Our VEV eMagazine's are a much more interactive experience than our previous versions.

  ### 29. Powerful and Simple Design Tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Vev?**

The simplicity of not needing to know how to write code. I love that there is the possibility of horizontal scrolling. That's the whole reason for me using Vev. The templates are a great way to understand how to best use Vev. Also, the twitch sessions are cool. Really helpful to see how to implement elements. Also being able to communicate via Discord is extremely helpful. I appreciate that I will receive a response in a timely manner and specifically addressed to me, but in a way that others may also benefit.
I think it's great that it's possible to create a website/story/content without having to purchase Vev. Even though there is a logo stamped on the page. It allows me to be able to test things out and try out the platform and compare what may be the best tool for my purposes.
I appreciate the descriptions of the template elements, but some don't have descriptions. I like this and want it to exist across the board.
The preview function is great.
The QR code giving you access to the published page is brilliant.
The keyboard shortcuts are super useful.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

Some of the functionality seems a bit clunky. After creating a horizontal scrolling page, the published version had shifted the entire scrolling section down on the screen, leaving a white strip across the page at the top. Also there seems to be limited template assets, where I would need to alter the code to achieve certain wanted functions. Something I'm not comfortable, or skilled, at doing - which defeats the purpose of the "no-code" approach. I want to be able to use anchors and a menu to move the viewer horizontally and jump to other sections quickly. I also want to be able to have sounds and video (separately) automatically play when the viewer sees a section. There is a "play on hover" template function, but it's limited. I could use that for my purpose as a workaround, but I would also want to be able to do that with an audio track - so that the viewer could read a paragraph of text while hearing ambient sounds of the "environment" they're reading about.

I feel like what I'm looking to accomplish is so simple, but different that this shouldn't be a difficult task. A friend of mine has suggested that I use Webflow, which I imagine is an obvious competitor to Vev, but I was attracted to Vev because I think it is extremely powerful, simple, and user friendly. I was able to start a project immediately without much tutorial.
I think there could be some improvement with switching projects. When I select "Copy" to create a duplicate of a project I cannot simply paste it. I feel like there should be a "Duplicate" button that will automatically duplicate the project, no copy/paste.

I wish the Image Library had more organizational tools.

In the home screen, my projects are found in the "Drafts" section. This might be a personal thing, but I wish it said "Projects" instead of "Drafts". It's the only place where I could find my projects and once I'm in that section the search bar even says "Projects" and the 'with tags' box says "Show all Projects". I just think the wording would be more consistent for me. And when I enter the home screen it's intuitive to me to find my projects in the Projects section.

I really think that Vev could be the platform for what I want to create, but it's not quite there just yet. It's so close it's frustrating. In a world where artists are constantly coming up with new ways to deliver information in an impactful way, we are always hitting a wall at some point. I feel like Vev is nearly bursting through the wall I'm at, but when I inquired about how to accomplish my goal in a help thread on Discord, I was told that I could probably make an alteration to the coding. That's not the kind of help I was seeking, and I didn't think that's the response I was going to receive. I thought the response I might receive would have been a description of how to write the code. That sort of thing might be easy for someone so well versed with coding, but not to a user like me who is just trying to create as quickly and efficiently as possible. I am an educated profession with it comes to screenwriting, motion picture cameras, lighting for film, directing actors and crew, editing software (which can easily get complicated), Photoshop, Post-Production Coloring, sound design, music, distribution and marketing. All while researching and developing story ideas continually, and pitching these stories to raise funds to go into production. Which brings me to learning tools like web design and coding. I only have so much time and energy to have to search google for tutorials on coding when I'm just trying to use a product sold to me as no-code. Yeah, I could hire someone who's going to charge me way too much to accomplish something so simple. But I'm not going to do that. I want to use a tool how it's marketed to me as.

The switch to mobile function is good, but I wish there was a way to work better for horizontal scrolling. When I view the page on my iPhone the entire page shifts around the screen as I swipe. I want the page to stay put and be able to swipe left or right to move through the content/sections. Right now the horizontal scroll only works as I swipe up and down as if scrolling along a vertical webpage. I understand that this is how the horizontal scroll function works, especially on a desktop, but it's not intuitive on a mobile device. Also, for whatever reason, I cannot scroll all the way to the end on my phone. It just stops somewhere near the end. Making it completely unusable on the phone.

This is not a negative rant by the way. I still think Vev has so much potential and would easily be my go to platform to create more content like what I'm trying to make. I could see the potential of making a dynamic side scrolling story as the final product itself or as supplementary material to the movie. There could even be a choose your own adventure style story made with it. The possibilities are limitless. I'm both excited for and frustrated by the ability to almost create the thing I want to create. Please help me get there.
Here are some examples of something similar but different to what I want to make:
https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2018/07/11/world/middleeast/raqqa-isis-home.html
https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2017/09/05/arts/music/25-women-making-best-rock-music-today.html#

My guess is that they used a Wordpress page or something to create their stories. I tried reaching out to find out what they used exactly, but I did not receive a response back. The difference in what I want is being able to use the scroll wheel on a mouse or a trackpad to scroll horizontally, and have the "page" anchor or stick like a magnet to the section with the content. And I want there to be a menu so they can skip to another section or skip to the beginning once they get to the end.

I should also mention that I think $35 a month, or $420 a year, is astronomical for someone like me. I would never purchase a subscription for that price at my individual level. And it prevents me from recommending it to a friend in a similar position as me. I think as a society we've come to the point where the subscription service business model is overflowing. At this point people are trimming the fat to save as much money as possible. I understand a service like this necessitates a subscription, but I think there might be other ways to keep Vev profitable, while still being competitive, and powerful. For example education discounts. Red Giant is a VFX company that offers education discounts for a limited time. I think it maxes out after four years. There could be more nuanced levels of individual accounts for the limited user like me. Maybe there could be pay per use functionality within the platform. I don't know. I'm just trying to come up with creative ways to make it possible for me to be a paying customer. I just think that you could be missing out on a lot of paying clients that could utilize this platform in ways unforeseen.

**Recommendations to others considering Vev:**

It can make difficult tasks really easy, when creating vertical content.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm creating a horizontal scroll pitch treatment for a feature film I'm looking to finance and direct. Vev seems to be one of the only design tools with this kind of easily usable function, but I've quickly found certain flaws that stopped me in my tracks.
Once I can solve the issue of easily creating a side scrolling story with dynamic content that can react at the appropriate time, then I will feel completely satisfied with Vev. Right now it feels like it's missing some of that functionality for me to complete the task how is best suited for me.

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Publishing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2021

**What do you like best about Vev?**

The options for multimedia are very engaging and innovative. As people learn in different ways, this platform has many options for animations, video, and audio, in addition to traditional written content. Blending the presentations provides something for everyone.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

The content editor is still its weakest point. It has improved, but it often falls to the design team to make what should be simple editorial changes. I also believe a straightforward pdf generation capability is absolutely necessary.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Engagement with our content is high! Getting pdfs to people is a sticking point.

  ### 32. Great customer support during the learning curve

Vev gives me a quick and relatively easy way to produce high quality content. Makes me look smarter than I am :)

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

Can be a bit difficult to incorporate elements exactly the way you want across the different layouts, with the mobile layout being the most tricky.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Producing custom pages for clients and projects without the restraints of a traditional CMS and its layout.

  ### 34. New to Vev, very impressed so far.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Vev?**

I appreciate the customer service. Whenever I've had a question, the Vev team has been quick to help. They have built custom solutions to the challenges I've experienced that have solved my issues exactly they way I hoped. I like the way the content is organized to help with make the transition close to seamless between Desktop, Tablet and mobile views. The ability to set up styles also helps when creating a branded product like a digital magazine month to month. I like the new refresh of the UX as well, it makes the studio much easier to use.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

Not much. Any issue I've experienced has either been resolved or fixed so quickly, it hasn't been an issue. I do wish that there was a way that we could link 2 or more text boxes. If text goes long in one it would be nice if we could direct the text to continue to flow into another box as opposed to just making the original box longer.

**Recommendations to others considering Vev:**

Give it some time to get used to the way things are presented in sections. Once you get the hang of it, it's a really helpful tool.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am creating digital magazines in Vev. The way it allows us to work seamlessly between art and the editorial staff is really helpful. It makes our production process go smoothly each month.

**What do you like best about Vev?**

How flexible and quick the support team is to help you during your projects.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

Dislike is a very strong word that I don't feel comfortable using. There's always scope for imporvement!

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

  ### 37. Great product but desktop to mobile experience needs work.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Graphic Design | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Vev?**

My team of designers is able to quickly make things interactive and it's super seamless to share staging links with clients.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

The desktop to mobile experience is really challenging. It is not intuitive at all and my team really struggles when needing to remove things in mobile. This feature needs significant improvement.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We build interactive landing pages for clients. It saves us significant $$ instead of working with a development agency.

  ### 38. Vev is great!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Clare J. | Art Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2021

**What do you like best about Vev?**

It is very easy to animate text and photos and no coding is required. The platform has many features that can be used to create a variety of designs to be viewed on any size screen. It is great to be able to create web pages in a way that is similar to creating printed projects.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

I would like to create tables right in Vev instead of importing them from other sites.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to convert print projects to web during the pandemic.

  ### 39. Great solution for our company

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 08, 2020

**What do you like best about Vev?**

I love features and interactive elements available in widgets and sections. Plus, the ability to adapt designs for mobile was very easy. What is key for us is the ability to customize analytics to work with our company's existing analytic platform. In addition to that, the roles of content editor and design editor works well to collaborate between editors and designers.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

Although Vev has really improved their help center and have added more videos. I would like to see a continuation of more video tutorials as a resource. I found sometimes, it was a bit trial and error to figure out how some of the widgets worked, or figuring out problems we have encountered. Having videos available that show what the features look like and how to customize things would be great.

**Recommendations to others considering Vev:**

As a designer, I highly recommend using Vev as a web experience tool. Once we got going with it, it was very easy to use the design tools and make tablet and mobile versions of our designs.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vev looks to be a great tool for creating digital magazines. On the design side, we very much like what Vev offers as a tool. The possibility to use our current analytic tools are huge for us, especially since other vendors we have talked to have lacked great analytics.

  ### 40. Great Flexibility...Learning curve for non-designers is steep.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Vev?**

I love the easily accessible preview modes

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

Not sure how to make everything responsive

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Onboardflow

  ### 41. Perfect web site tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Petter T. | F, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 11, 2021

**What do you like best about Vev?**

Easy to use, understand and good looking.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

Would like to get a better overview of all the possibilities. Would also like more templates to choose from.

**Recommendations to others considering Vev:**

Easy to use tool to make whatever you might need, both complicated and simple designs are possible to make without any programming experience.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Flexibility to design my web site as I imagine. Reliable and fast tool.

  ### 42. A comprehensive web design tool

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shailesh C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 06, 2020

**What do you like best about Vev?**

You require no coding experience to build pages. Also the tool allows you to build responsive pages across tablet and mobile. It sounds corny, but you truly are only limited by your imagination. The support via Slack is very quick and helpful. The team really know their stuff.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

There is still a learning curve to truly understand the full capabilities of the platform. It can be quite technical, embracing the best of print and digital design interfaces. Once you get past the learning, you are faced with occasional glitches in the software. These do get fixed fairly quickly, but does slow down your workflow. Without any CMS running in the background, inputting of content is a manual process. Requires more learning and resource videos. Although there is a help tool built into the interface.

**Recommendations to others considering Vev:**

Do your homework when choosing. Be clear as to your requirements. VEV cannot do everything. Ask many questions. Trial it before committing. VEV isn't perfect, like all software, you will come across glitches. Thankfully these are resolved swiftly by the superb support team.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With everything going digital these days, traditional print designers don't need to feel left behind. With tools like VEV, designers are back in the game creating content. What's best, is that you are using all the training and experience you have from print directly translated to digital. We have successfully transitioned a client's print product to digital - within budget and with the same degree of design detail we had in print.

  ### 43. The Best Content Experience Platform! Easy to use and very intuitive.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Furniture | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Vev?**

I work in sales, and I was looking for a platform where I could set up tailored product presentations that look professional and have smart interactive features. On my quest I found that an emerging set of marketing tools called Content Experience Platforms was being developed, and looking into them I knew this was the solution I was looking for.

However, I´m not a web or graphic designer and I don´t know anything about web programming languages so I needed a tool that was easy to use for non-professionals. In this search I found VEV. At first I tried it for free and was amazed of how simple and intuitive it is. I liked the range of features it offers, and how easy it is to get professional results without having to get help from others, or spending loads of money to get what I need. I highly recommend VEV for anyone who wishes to create amazing, visually enticing experiences for their customers.

Also, new features are being added constantly so there are plenty options to keep innovation rolling.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

Many features lack "How to Use" guides and there are no training resources available. Even tough it´s easy to use and you eventually understand the basics, some functions are not so intuitive. I only found a couple of videos on youtube, but they´re only introductions to the basic setups. I believe that more training resources and help guides would be very helpful and could also help VEV reach a wider audience.

**Recommendations to others considering Vev:**

Check out the web pages that have been developed using VEV. You can easily obtain similar results.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a sales professional of highly customizable products, I need to make sure that my customer presentations are visually impactful, very interactive, and easily tailored by me whenever I need to. In addition to this, I serve several countries so I require these presentations to be easily available online.

VEV has proven to be the perfect customer experience platform for this purpose. It has enabled me to be more effective and get professional results on the go.

  ### 44. Creating a website - for designers!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Barry L. | Design Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Vev?**

The familiar presentation of tools etc to make additions and modifications in a clean, modern interface.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

Would love to refer to more help videos to find out how to overcome some of Vev's weaknesses (ie integrating Contact Forms and creating member/password protected areas.

**Recommendations to others considering Vev:**

Vev is a designers delight, with an easy, familiar-looking interface that enables the freedom you want to achieve great results without being bogged down with the technicalities.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a complete none - coder - for 90% of the time, its a breeze to use - so I have been able to convert my thinking into working pages much more quickly than any other programme.

  ### 45. I wish I had found Vev earlier...

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Camron S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2020

**What do you like best about Vev?**

Intuitive interface that allowed me to learn how to best use the software in just a day.
Design flexibility and ample opportunity for advanced animations (with incredible “preset” options).
Will be sticking with Vev for all my future client work.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

I wish their support team was more accessible but at the same time they do offer paid options for extremely fast support.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Complete design freedom that’s easy to use and intuitive that I haven’t found in other larger and well known competitors in this industry.
Not to mention the cms and animation capabilities. My client work is going to reach the next level because of Vev.

  ### 46. Good Platform for quick site Launches

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tanya T. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 07, 2020

**What do you like best about Vev?**

Sufficient amount of widgets that makes a designer capable to drop in and create a website to launch as soon as possible.

Also we can create custom component using Vev's code editor that adds in the developer scope to create components which can be used by their team.

Also the support team is quick enough to respond on their communication channels.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

Need to work more on the documentation specially for the Code editor as there are still not enough examples for a developer to understand all the stuff like form inputs, hosting etc.
The current documentation is improvised but still has a lot of scope of improvement.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a developer I have been creating custom components in Vev that can be further used by my organisation creating sites with Vev.

  ### 47. Cheaper and more involved alternative to Storytell

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tomas S. | Creative Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2021

**What do you like best about Vev?**

That the price is much lower than the competitors, but without sacrificing functionality.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

It takes a little time to get used to the platform and sometimes a little trial and error is invovled.

**Recommendations to others considering Vev:**

Take time to learn the platform before diving into content creation!

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Alternative approach to traditional corporate reporting. Love the ability to bring in multimedia from various platforms!

  ### 48. Diamond in the (just a touch) rough

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mike G. | Director of Marketing, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2020

**What do you like best about Vev?**

Vev is clearly the future of the web. Not only is it a relatively intuitive wysiwyg editor, but it builds sites with all the speed and flexibility of react. Almost all the bells and whistles I hope to include are simple to incorporate: parallax, scroll depth based pinning and unpinning. In comparison with heavyweight incumbants like Ceros, and lighter builders—Shorthand, Webflow, or Unyson—Vev was a clear winner.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

Vev's strengths are its rough edges: consistent additions to the builder's toolbox means there are always new goodies, but it can be challenging to find the right tool for the job at hand. It took us a little while to get used to some of the quirks of the editor, and while the support team is fantastic the documentation is still light.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using Vev to build out storytelling pieces and lovely responsive landing pages.

  ### 49. Userfriendly and powerful tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hjalte à T. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 31, 2020

**What do you like best about Vev?**

I like the ability to comine drag and drop for quick setup with the power of custom components with npm, react etc.
The support I have received from Vev has also been quick and very useful.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

Buggy and inconsistent side effects of having a 100% online editor. Sometimes a reload is needed or images from pixabay dissapear or zoom activates the browser zoom and not the editor zoom.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Goin from idea to production quick and without engaging the whole IT department

  ### 50. Intuitive and Flexible

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** MIkkel C. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Vev?**

Vev is a fantastic tool for getting your ideas iterated and running. It's the shortest route from idea to functioning site that I've come across.
The tools are comprehensive, and the tool box is growing every day.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

Although virtually anything is possible with Vev, with some grit and ingenuity - the sollutions don't always feel as robust as I would like. That being said, I can achieve things in vev withouth coding that would otherwise take weeks of inhouse development.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In my line of work (print media) we have a huge disadvatage when trying to translate printed design to the web. The tools for making an article unique while still adhering to the company profile is incredibly limiting, resulting in a poor product for the reader.
Once we started using Vev we could immediately articulate the specific visual language of each feature article to the strengths of interactive media such as the web.
