Veterinarian, DVM was very helpful and thorough and was able to view my dog's vulva using the webcam to address the UTI. I was impressed that she reviewed ALL of the history and called in the medicine to treat this condition to my local pharmacy. In addition to this she provided me with recommendations for primary vet follow up as well as some helpful info about dietary supplements that could aid with preventative OBGYN canine health. It felt very comfortable and so did my dog Gracie. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I feel awkward when using a webcam but Dr. Kaur made me feel very comfortable anyway Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Vetstar has made it so much easier for histories to be reviewed. Thanks to Vetstar's 24/7 live support, there has never been a problem that couldn't be solved. The support their team always gives is incredible. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The single thing that Vetstar could improve is making it a bit easier to access certain records. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like that the font type is easy to read. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are a lot of things that I do not like about this program. It is very difficult to open the program, to access patient information, and the program will crash if you try to do more than one thing at once. If you type too quickly, the program lags behind. It is very difficult to be productive and efficient with this program. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It can be utilized across a large number of people and be accessed from anywhere as long as connected to a secure server. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The software itself is not intuitive. It is difficult for students and temporary staff to pick up on and implement. There is an excessive amount of codes to get to different pages and records. You can not easily search for previous procedures. You can not easily search for species or breeds. You can not have multiple people logged on to the same form. I have had several experiences in which I have become locked out of a record and unable to discharge a patient because it went into a standby mode. It is very slow at loading and often logs out or reboots without saving work, resulting in lost text. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
VetStar can be a very integrated program allowing all of a patient's diagnostics, appointments and history in the same EMR screen
It is also helpful to have versions option in case you delete something or it doesn't get saved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
VetStar is NOT very user friendly. You cannot really navigate intuitively with clicks you have to know the command codes
VetStar also makes it difficult as it doesn't allow us to use outside command keys (like Ctl B to bold texts or Ctl C/Ctl V to copy and paste). Furthermore, the fact that if you do copy and paste from outside documents the formatting only partially paste with it and then it is even more difficult as you have to format bit by bit rather than all at once. As a house officer, I appreciated the fact that you would get a notification whenever new blood work or lab results were back. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is very difficult to search for patients in the system, when you use a last name to search, the majority of the time the program freezes and you get the "red lightening bolt" of death. Additionally, the program crashing constantly, and most of the time, when it does, you lose all the paperwork you were working on. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Once on a patient, the majority of the information is readily accessible. All patient medical records can be accessed from 1 screen, though each individual document has to be opened. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The commands and shortcuts are not intuitive and take a substantial amount of time to learn. You cannot display dual windows, making charting more difficult. The program frequently glitches, with documents openig without displaying any of the contents or erasing saved files, which then do no appear in the versions history. I do like that the layout makes it fairly easy to find different things, and you can search by various information about a patient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have had multiple discharges that I was working on that were deleted randomly, even after hitting save multiple times. Vetstar is also extremely slow and tends to freeze quite often. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I'm not sure what there is to like. It is extremely difficult to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The random acronyms that you have to remember to go from one screen to another. There is nothing easy about this program. It takes days/weeks to learn and is very outdated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
