Its seamless integration with our existing infrastructure was particularly impressive. The platform's tokenization and aliasing capabilities ensure sensitive data is never exposed, significantly reducing our compliance burden. The detailed and customizable audit logs are invaluable for maintaining transparency and meeting regulatory requirements. Additionally, the developer-friendly API and comprehensive documentation made the implementation process smooth and efficient. Also they have a great customer support. **What do you dislike about VGS Platform?** I would like to be able to add initial values to certain form fields when using VGSCollect, so I don't have to use a workaround like working with two parallel forms, one VGS and the other non-VGS. Sometimes, due to business rules, we need to set initial values for some fields. Overall, VGS has significantly enhanced our data security and compliance posture, and I highly recommend their services. **What problems is VGS Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** We integrate with multiple payment gateways, and VGS allows us to switch between these gateways. ### 2. Support has always been a great experience, especially via chat. **What do you dislike about VGS Platform?** I guess it is the fee I need to pay for extra CNAMEs. It is $40 per extra CNAME at the moment, wouldn't it be great if it was less or bundled in the package we pay yearly? **What problems is VGS Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** We needed to be PCI compliant so that we could process credit card information flown from our 3rd party integration. We realized that integrating with VGS saved us huge time and cost compared to building up the infrastructure and all the work required by doing it on our own ### 3. Over the years, VGS has been a great partner, listening to our feedback and continuing to develop its product to fit our business needs. **What do you dislike about VGS Platform?** While the payments optimization solution (https://www.verygoodsecurity.com/payment-optimization) facilitates less sophisticated merchants to build their multi-PSP setup, VGS is still far from being considered an actual orchestration layer (such as Primer or Spreedly) **What problems is VGS Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** Thanks to its flexibility, VGS enabled our business to move from a static single-PSP setup to a dynamic multi-PSP ecosystem to achieve 1) increased uptime & redundancy 2) higher auth rates 3) lower costs. ### 5. VGS doesn't require a tedious and unnecessary integration process, just develop and go. **What do you dislike about VGS Platform?** If you want to be PCI Certified and don't require storing cards or your payment processor has their own tokenization service and recurring payment functionality, using VGS and be in a contract plus have to pay a PCI certification rep isn't cost-effective and possibly unnecessary **What problems is VGS Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** Providing security and the ability to store sensitive data in your database without the risk of said data being stolen or readable if your system is compromised. ### 6. In short: frictionless experience. It also speeds up a lot the PCI compliance certification process which is awesome. **What do you dislike about VGS Platform?** The price to generate custom CNAMES, $40 is too expensive to have a certificate in a world with free options like lets encrypt. For VGS Control sometimes they are still missing some important steps that auditors requires, but I think it is just a matter of time to everything up to date. **What problems is VGS Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** PCI compliant and credit card obfuscation. Their team is very responsive and they provide all of the documentation needed to show proof of compliance. **What do you dislike about VGS Platform?** Honestly hard to find anything to dislike with VGS. PCI DSS compliance in general is a painful, albeit very important requirement in the modern tech space. But VGS isn't setting the rules, they are just there to help tech companies follow them. If I were to point out one area of improvement would be the configuration of sanitation rules. The rules are composed of a pattern-seeking language like a Regular Expression but the syntax seems very specific to their platform. This isn't much of a drawback as again, they help you every step of the way and once the rules are set one would rarely need to go back and update them. **What problems is VGS Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** VGS solves the problem of being PCI DSS compliant without having to go through the exorbitant cost of being directly PCI DSS Certified. It would be very difficult for small to medium-sized tech companies to develop services with custom payment solutions with the aid of PCI proxies like VGS. They also offer a lot of services surrounding card capture/storage and technical compliance. Beyond card sanitation and vault storage, they can help with achieving SOC compliance. Another unique and powerful service is the ability to supply users with up-to-date card details for captured cards. This leads to less friction between the SAAS provider and end-user as the provider doesn't need to regularly follow up with the user for updated payment information. ### 9. It also helps us move between payment providers easier with orchestration. There is a lot of solid code examples using their API on github. I was able to mock up a proof of concept quickly for my team lead to show that we could do what we wanted to accomplish using VGS. **What do you dislike about VGS Platform?** I can't say there is anything major I didn't particularly like about working with VGS. Perhaps the concepts around using VGS Proxy for detokenization could have been better explained. **What problems is VGS Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** We previously used our payment processor to tokenize PII & PFI, but that was tying us to them needlessly.
