Vensim has inbuilt features that make creation of models as well as the simulation of the models a smooth process.
Also with sensitivity analysis, it is straightforward and with minimal complexity once you understand the knowledge base.
I have been using it for 5 years, and I can confidently say it has continually improved. Looking back, Vensim was a complex platform but as per now, it is easy and straightforward. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have nothing much to say because it has improved. The only thing I can speak of is that the interface is still old schoo style.
Aside from that, Vensim is a good and reliable platform indeed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
VENSIM allows for modeling complex and dynamic systems, enabling analysis for decision-making. Its wide range of functions and capabilities for sensitivity analysis, scenario testing, and forecasting, among others, is highly beneficial. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
VENSIM requires an updated computer and relatively powerful hardware to leverage its capabilities fully, posing usage issues for some students with older equipment. Its learning curve is challenging, but this is due to its extensive functionality. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Very easy to use, user friendly, can get the answer fast, can handle many variable, The advantage of this software is the security of having one of the pioneering tools for simulating dynamic systems. Excellent introductory system dynamics modeling tool. Good value, but not the prettiest. My overall experience was good for simulating basic models, I have been able to represent the diagrams and see the curves correctly Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometime it's freeze and buggy, multi running window is not provided, Dull interface and some of the features are complicated. Cons to simulation are that the model needs to be done right before it will work at all. So, you can't see what would happen if it were working to see the errors you are making. That may be, but there are other alternatives that do not have this problem and it makes things much easier for many applications, especially by the 99% of non-experts who would be using the software. I liked its simple interface and helpful tips, as you go along you will very easily learn a complex topic in very easy way.
The modelling tools are very basic and easy to understand for starting researchers. They have a complete help section where most of your queries will be answered. Its overall one of the best modelling tool for system dynamics work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I disliked that without a professional version sensitivity analysis was not allowed to be performed on models. That really puts restrictions in our work. Similarly the excel lookups was not allowed in student version. These are some serious issues I faced while working with Vensim. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The simplicity of building model and icons similar to what taught in textbooks Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Interfacing with any programming language is difficult. Only, possible through few package like pysd but can be generalised for others Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
the quick visualization features and the simulator of course. also the integration with forio helped me to achieve my goals Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Tools and functionalities are great. The chance to create models and connect them it's excellent Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Interface it's not very user friendly. and when creating the model the design doesn't seems good. Printing options are not very easy to set and having a model printed could be good. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
