"Powerful Budgeting Tool with Easy Reporting"
5/5
What do you like best about Vena?

I use Vena for budgeting and forecasting, and I appreciate the efficient process and reliability it offers while building budgets. I like the ease of building reports, which makes my work smoother. The templates and reports are also something I value highly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Vena?

I wish there were more licensing options so that more than just a power user could update templates and load data. It would be better if more users had the ability to load data or input templates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Automated Financials and Powerful Budgeting in Excel"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Vena?

The ability to have our financial statements automatically update each month is a huge improvement over our manual excel files. Vena's budgeting/forecasting capabilities are really strong and allows for creating multiple scenarios. Working with Vena is excel allows for all normal excel functionality. We really like the drill in capabilities to go from summary data to expand down to even the transactional level. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Vena?

In our experience, Vena's account reconciliation tool does not match the capabilities of some specialized reconciliation solutions. However, as a relatively affordable add-on, it adequately serves our requirements. Additionally, the ease of implementation largely depends on the amount of effort dedicated to data cleansing beforehand and having a clear understanding of predefined expectations. "Easy Transaction Drill-Down Empowers Non-Technical Users"
4/5
What do you like best about Vena?

The ease of drilling to transactions for non-technical users allows people to get to the “why” on their own when they typically would have come straight to me or controller for answers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Vena?

The way we have it configured it is not super flexible to handle how dynamic our company is. We regularly create new subsidiaries, change the chart of accounts, add new classes, etc and this doesn’t seem to be easy for Vena. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Familiar Excel Frontend, Powerfully Scaled Backend"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Vena?

I like that Vena has an Excel-based front end. It allows me to work within a framework that I'm familiar with, offering the same flexibility to change models. The cube back end and robust workflows make it durable for whatever I can throw at it. I also appreciate that it provides stability in the core formulas and assumptions and doesn't require the same level of horsepower on my local PC to generate results. It's more flexible than other enterprise-level solutions. The setup was fantastic, thanks to a great partnership with implementation consultants. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Vena?

There are limitations still on what the Vena 365 solution can do compared to the desktop. I would hope that they would scale those out. One particular item where I would like to see better functionality is the error troubleshooting. I'd like 365 to be able to have the same level of troubleshooting across platforms. Vena does require a lot of training across my team. Creating new reports or adjusting reports to fit our needs can take some time. Especially when we have turnover on the team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Flexibility and Ease with Vena"
5/5
What do you like best about Vena?

I like Vena's flexibility and dynamic row functionality. It can be completely owned and maintained by finance, which I find very beneficial. This aspect of finance ownership means it bypasses the data loads and eliminates wait times for IT support, speeding up user administration and technical support processes. Additionally, the initial setup of Vena was easy, which is definitely a plus. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
