I no longer have to jump between our ERP, an excel workbook and a reporting software. The only real thing I have disliked thus far is that when I have an issue and reach out to VENA help it takes so much time to hear back from anyone and it's all through email. My client's accounting team's head got the knack of it in just four days. It also supports customizing specific templates and generating customized reports as needed. And the best thing is it has a slight "Excel" UI, making it more familiar. **What do you dislike about Vena?** Its initial setup was very much complex. We had to dedicate three engineers to set it up, and then they had to take help from Vena's support team, which took longer. Also, it needs fast internet, 30-40 Mbps is not enough; we need at least 80-100 mbps internet connectivity, though this depends mainly on ISP. So, if the internet goes down, your work is stuck until connectivity returns. Also, a free trial account would be remarkable to suggest to others. **What problems is Vena solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our client previously had on-premises ERP software with other forecasting and sales management modules. Still, being on-premises, had problems with it going down and its maintenance; we were looking for a stable software solution that came to us in the form of Vena, it has everything built in, and being in the cloud, it is safer and easily accessible from anywhere. It's not very clear if you are not well-versed in the technology. I also like the flexibility to create custom spreadsheets using live data. **What do you dislike about Vena?** The implementation was tough, the learning curve is huge and it was a bigger time-sink than I think any of us anticipated. Still think it was worth it though. **What problems is Vena solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our resource planning is much easier with Vena and it connects to our financial data in ways that were difficult to accomplish before Vena. If you've worked with Excel - you will have no issues operating and perfecting Vena. Just utilizing the Learning Center - any novice can begin creating dashboards and reports that will blow your execs away! **What do you dislike about Vena?** There is very little (if anything) to dislike about Vena. There is some required startup work to get going but I don't think there is a system out there that doesn't require this. **What problems is Vena solving and how is that benefiting you?** The biggest problem that Vena has solved is consolidating our data to a centralized source. It also has provided the benefit of less manual manipulating of data - with this we've saved time and have more data integrity. ### 38. For example, Vena has a drill down function that allows us to see entries on the account level. This give us more insight when we notice variances between periods. **What do you dislike about Vena?** The implementation process for Vena is taking too long. We originally scheduled a go-live date in the first 2 months of implementation, but implementation has not been finished after 8 months. **Recommendations to others considering Vena:** Make sure you push the implementation team if they go over budget! **What problems is Vena solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our company primarily uses Excel for our FP&A process, and Vena saves a lot of time because we no longer need to go into our accounting system to pull reports in Excel. ### 39. I really like their learning webinars and training recordings. The lessons are divided into smaller chunks of time, focusing on a specific process or function, which allows our team to view and complete a recording in one sitting - including the quiz at the end. **What do you dislike about Vena?** Creating reports with many conditions related to your members gets quite complicated. We have needed help from Vena to create new attributes and jobs used on many of our reports. **What problems is Vena solving and how is that benefiting you?** Financial reports are consistent and the program doesn't crash. We are able to complete our budget process within Vena and are now transitioning to Forecasting. ### 50. So far it has been very easy to get non-technical employees comfortable enough with Vena to use it effectively as a contributor. **What do you dislike about Vena?** I have some frustrations with the limits of Vena as it is used in Excel. For example, if contributors filter or sort tables in input forms it often causes issues with the dimensions mappings. **What problems is Vena solving and how is that benefiting you?** Consolidating individually upkept data sources into single sources of truth, which multiple users are able to contribute to.
