Vareto has made management of our nonprofit finances much clearer and manageable for management and team leads, including those with more limited experience with these systems. We appreciated the excellent support from Vareto as we rolled this out to the team, as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
To date, I have not experienced any substantial issues with the system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Vareto is more customizable than the other tools we've used in the past; f you are a reasonably mature company, this becomes very important. At the same time, the product is reasonably easy to use. As a business analyst, I can bury a lot of complexity behind Vareto and pass off easily comprehensible dashboards to executives.
The customer success, solutions, and executive teams at Vareto have been very helpful to us. They proactively anticipate problems, and I trust that when I change the methodology behind our metrics' calculations, Vareto will find a creative solution on the back end and implement it correctly.
As someone who cares excessively about formatting, I'm also pretty pleased with how charts and tables look in Vareto. Other tools we've used or demoed in the past look a bit ugly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Be aware that this isn't the kind of product you can just turn on. You will have to work on defining your metrics and verifying that they're implemented properly. Some tools that effectively serve early stage companies will be opinionated and handle this logic for you -- Vareto isn't that.
There are a couple of minor UI things that I've raised. These are ubiquitous in enterprise SaaS and will probably get ironed out over time, so I'm not overly worried about them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Vareto has helped improve financial reporting for our management team - it has saved our team so much time during our month-end close process. In the past, we would do Budget v Actual reporting/analysis in Microsoft Excel, but Verato has helped automate the process by syncing real-time with our accounting software, QBO and comparing it to the budget saved in Vareto. What is also so helpful is that we can share user access with management team members to provide timely insight into spend and help document variances.
We also linked our PEO and Salesforce accounts to Vareto, so we're very excited to explore even more functionality down the line, once we have everything set up. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The one thing that was a little problematic was uploading our budgets to Vareto - what was confusing, in the beginning, was that there were categories and subaccounts that needed to be added/tagged. When I first uploaded without the appropriate tagging, the reporting wasn't as robust/granular as needed. Thankfully, the Vareto team helped explain the problem and gave detailed step-by-step directions on how to remedy the problem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Vareto is relatively nimble and flexible, allowing teams to make on-the-fly changes with limited hassle. Great customer support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Vareto is still early in the roadmap, which comes with growing pains. However, pains have always been managed by our rep. As a personal preference, I would like to see GLs as a standard dimension rather than having to build custom measures Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Very Intutive, easy to use in terms of sharing and collaboration, Very quick implementation and amazing support from Vareto team.
Zero Maintenance tool Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some critical feature like Multiplayer and scenario planning are in product roadmap, reqeusting the team to roll them out asap. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Vareto is intuitive and customizable. The support team is receptive to feedback and requests for new features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I use the product as a user, and everything seems to be working well on my end. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Vareto has taken our departmental reporting preparation from days to minutes. Budget owners specifically rave about the ability to drill down to the GL level.
Additionally, their implementation team is heads and shoulders above almost any other software package I've implemented. They are responsive and creative. They have been a true partner in crafting our reporting packages.
Finally, I've really appreciated how easy it has been to integrate our GL, HRIS & CRM for real-time planning and reporting purposes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The biggest challenge has been making metric/dimension refinement more end-user serviceable. Currently, it requires a reasonable amount of product knowledge to change. With that said, since we've been working together, they've already released a couple of features to make it easier to change their metrics. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The team at Vareto was super helpful and worked fast to help us get our Quickbooks data onto the platform and to use. Setting up reports for department leads was a straightforward and intuitive process. The report building functionality makes it easy to slice and dice data in multiple ways to get the most holistic view of your financial data. We can build various types of reports in minutes with Vareto. The ability to drill down into vendor level expense details in just a few clicks is a massive time saver.
Vareto also makes collaboration with business users easy. Their permission settings allow reporting and collaboration to be done in-app without worrying about business users seeing sensitive information in the app. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I would like the ability to drag columns into the order I'd like. I have to move the columns one column at a time when I build a table report.
I'd prefer if I didn't have to upload payroll from Rippling through a CSV upload each month. Unfortunately, this limitation applies to any platform using Rippling's API. We are happy with the current workaround that Vareto has and they provide an easy template to help get payroll information into the platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

- Strong customer support team that is incredibly responsive, collaborative, and helpful in providing guidance on implementation, ways to format reports, and how to leverage the planning tool for budgeting proceses (white glove customer service)
- A ton of flexibility in the types of reports you can set up, allowing finance as well as business units to quickly derive insights on spend cut by expense type, vendor, etc. with direct feeds from our ERP, eliminating the need for manual download and manipulation of data from outside sources that may become out of date. This saves a ton of time by reducing hours spent aggregating data, and makes meetings much more efficient. We save 20-30 hours per finance person per month. Department heads and budget owners are able to collaborate w/ their teams to understand spend w/o always relying on finance for data, as they have the ability to drill down to transaction-level detail on their own
- Slick UI / UX that is intuitive and easy to use
- Dashboards that enable instant visual snapshots of how business is performing Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
- Earlier stage product that every once in a while has some growing pains (pages occasionally hang up, or visual glitches that usually clear out after a hard refresh of the page)
- Backend setup for data feeds not yet fully self serve (such as if a new department is added or new GL is added, not at level where we can automatically update on our own, but given the responsiveness of the customers upport team, this hasn't ever been an issue)
- Customization features not as fully fleshed out as we would like (# of decimals, custom conditional formatting, etc.)
- Great for custom reports created one-by-one, but would like a more robust "template" offering where 1 page can serve as a "master" for changes to flow across all child pages that are all formatted the same, but for different teams for example
- Waiting for Excel / GSheets plug-in, as well as Looker integration (currently port in from flat file) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The best thing about Vareto is its ability to extract all meaningful pieces of data residing in over a dozen or so enterprise tools and make it available on a real-time basis for effective decision-making. This cuts down the time it takes to do your monthly reporting and provides very meaningful insights that helps you (re)forecast while you are within the thick of the action. In addition, this forces the executive team to base their business plan on a metrics based forward looking basis instead of driving while looking in the rearview mirror. Excellent customer support and responsive product teams. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The planning tool requires some learning curve to get used to (not more than a day or two), but it is still way better than other alternatives which are out there. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
