**What do you like best about Vanta?**

I have been working with Vanta for approximately three months, primarily managing Engineering and IT policies. Overall, my experience has been very positive.

Vanta is very intuitive and user friendly. The interface is clean and makes navigating through policies and compliance tasks straightforward.

I interact with Vanta on a regular basis, as it is central to maintaining compliance and monitoring policy adherence across our teams.

The integration with Azure was smooth and straightforward. It allows our workflows to stay cohesive across platforms, which is essential for our team’s productivity.

Overall, Vanta has been a valuable tool for managing compliance and IT policies, offering a combination of usability, features, and support that make it a reliable choice for our team.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

Although the customer support team has been responsive and helpful whenever I had questions or needed guidance, resolving certain issues required several back-and-forth emails. This was the case, for example, when I contacted them about a remediation policy that was not updating as expected.

**What do you like best about Vanta?**

I like how Vanta is efficient to navigate back and forth. I also appreciate the feature that allows integration with multiple applications and core systems of companies, which helps in checking most of the security tasks required, like quarterly or annually. This really helps in making sure that the compliance program is proactively being worked on. The initial setup was super easy, and it makes everything related to compliance much more manageable for my team.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

I think there's just a few bugs. In my experience, it's just one bug that I've encountered so far. It was the adding of the subprocessors in the trust center and removing a vendor does not have any sort of mechanism to prompt the user or an admin that by removing your vendor, it would also remove the subprocess in the trust center.

**What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vanta automates compliance tests and control mappings for raised risks. It efficiently integrates with applications, enhancing security tasks management like quarterly requirements, making compliance programs proactive and comprehensive.

**What do you like best about Vanta?**

I like Vanta's integration with our core infrastructure like AWS and MongoDB Atlas, keeping our infrastructure configuration aligned with security objectives and compliance policies. They have great automated tests and their document templates are really helpful. I also love the way they present all evidence neatly to auditors, making audits a breeze. The initial setup was super easy, and their partner Cognisys helped us get certified from scratch in just six weeks. Every integration comes with a very clear onboarding guide that makes getting started straightforward.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

The integration with GitLab does not detect merging rules defined on repository groups. We have a common group-based security policy for merging rules, but Vanta only detects the rules on a specific repository. This leads to false positive flags indicating that some repos don't have the four eyes principle enforced.

Vanta monitors our compliance for ISO and GDPR from technical and organizational perspectives and makes audits super smooth.

I really like that Vanta integrates into all our systems and gives us a holistic overview of everything going on in the company. It's like having a huge checklist that shows us how compliant we are right now and what we need to work on. The automation of tests and the way it shows what we can and need to do is really helpful. The initial setup was pretty easy too.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

I think it's sometimes the policies and the tests are suited for companies that are maybe from a larger size. And we as a startup, sometimes had struggles to kinda adopt those policies, tests, and the things towards something that makes sense and is reasonable to what's our size.

**What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I think Vanta gives a helpful initial overview of tasks for GDPR compliance, integrates into systems for a holistic view, and automates compliance tests, though adapting templates to our small startup size is challenging.

**What do you like best about Vanta?**

I use Vanta for framework and audit management, access management, vendor management, and risk management. I find it really underpins everything for us. It centralizes compliance and helps us be continuously audit-ready, which is amazing for audit management. Working with auditors familiar with Vanta makes it so much easier. It has reduced the need for additional evidence during audits, which is helpful since the Infosec team is primarily just myself. The Slack integrations are fantastic; it makes it easier for employees to submit access requests through Slack rather than completing bulky Jira forms. The Trust Centre is another feature I love because it reduces the amount of security questions I have to answer, allowing me to direct people there instead. Access management is great as well, as I can integrate multiple systems and ensure we don't miss any access issues. The detailed test framework is incredibly useful for audits, ensuring we submit comprehensive evidence without needing to input a ton more during audits.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

It would be great if custom fields could be available in access requests - I just want to have a field that allows people to select the environment for some tools they request access for. Mostly it is fine as they just use the standard field, but it would be a great addition for us. It would also be good if some of the integrations for third parties were more detailed than just access management.

**What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Vanta for compliance centralization, continuous audit readiness, vendor oversight, and streamlining onboarding. The Trust Center simplifies security queries. Access management integration prevents unauthorized entries, and Slack integrations ease access requests, reducing auditor workloads.

**What do you like best about Vanta?**

I use Vanta for ISO compliance, and it really helps by automating all the checks, controls, and the process so we can proactively ensure compliance. I love the integrations; the more it integrates, the more automated things become. The Google integration helps us track all vendors, and the GitHub integration ensures we're developing in a compliant way. We also have a Vanta MCP connection that works amazingly. The initial setup was super easy, which I definitely appreciate.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

There are so many extra paid parts of the application, sometimes it is hard to understand what is in our package and what is not. An example is the trust center, which we don't have in our package. It looks like we have it, I can open the page and see everything, but I'm not sure if it is public or not. When I check the access control page, then I see 'please talk to sales'.

I use Vanta for ISO compliance, automating checks and controls to proactively ensure compliance. The integrations, like Google and GitHub, make it more automated, helping in tracking vendor processes and development practices for compliance.

I like Vanta for its easy UI/UX, which I find simple to understand and helps me stay organized. The Slack alerts during audit windows are helpful as they notify me when something becomes non-compliant, making it easy to fix issues promptly. I also appreciate the support for lots of third-party integrations, which reduces the amount of work I have to do.

I don't like the customer success team. I'm unsure who our account manager is and how to contact them. It seems like we're always getting emails from different people, and it's hard to keep track of. Plus, they only email us to try and get us to use or buy new features.

I use Vanta for compliance, asset and vendor tracking, and access tracking. It's very helpful when it comes to audits. I know the Infosec team loves using it. I really like that I can see all the different vendors we use at the company, who the vendor owners are, and the ability to audit access in case we have ex-employees still having access. The whole UI and navigating Vanta is super easy. The initial setup of Vanta was very easy. I also like that we use it alongside Okta, as our SSO, and Vanta pulls information from Okta.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

None that I can think of.

I use Vanta for compliance, asset and vendor tracking, and access tracking. It's the single source of truth for user access and audit management, crucial for audits. I love that I can see all vendors and audit access easily, and the navigation is super easy.

I like the AI intelligence tool that pulls from our existing policies and helps us check overall compliance. It’s easy to use, and it automatically captures data from other systems. On top of that, their support team responds really quickly.

Sometimes the integrations are difficult to consolidate. For example, if I enter an EE in the HRIS before their start date or before their company email is created, it won’t let me make changes or merge duplicates on my own.

The automation engine is far more proactive than I expected. Instead of just flagging a missing policy, it monitors our actual AWS and GitHub configuration in real-time, catching drift the moment it happens. I particularly appreciate the "Trust Center" feature, which allows us to share our security posture with prospective via a clean URL rather than a messy ZIP file of PDFs.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

Its not a major issues but it sometime feels, The initial mapping of custom control can be a bit rigid if your company doesn't fit the standard startup mold. While the automation is excellent, troubleshooting why a specific test failed sometimes feels like a scavenger hunt through different menus.

**What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vanta effectively ended our reliance on "compliance spreadsheets" that were always out of date. It solves the problem of evidence collection fatigue by automatically pulling the logs and screenshots needed for our SOC 2 audit. This has freed up our small engineering team to focus on building features rather than chasing down screenshots for authors.

**What do you like best about Vanta?**

The best part about Vanta is how it takes the daunting SOC 2 Type II readiness process and makes it seamless. Its so helpful to have our systems integrated with Vanta for evidence collection and ongoing monitoring of controls. We have also found a ton of value in managing our policies in Vanta and using Vanta's pre-made trainings for our employees. Additionally, Vanta's questionnaire automation feature has saved us countless hours.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

One area that could improve is the questionnaire automation for complex Excel sheets or questionnaires that we aren't able to export out of existing systems. Sometimes the Excel sheets that have multiple tabs or drop downs with unique answer choices are harder to automate and map the appropriate fields.

**What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main problem Vanta solves is the complexity around compliance and SOC audits, specifically. Vanta provides a path to completing SOC audits and remaining compliant year round that is easy to follow and is a huge time saver.

**What do you like best about Vanta?**

Vanta has the best UI/UX in the industry, along with one of the most comprehensive sets of controls (or “tests”) that are mapped correctly to the relevant frameworks. In my experience (we’re a service provider), other GRC tools often add too many unnecessary controls that don’t actually map cleanly to SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, GDPR, etc. That ends up wasting time for the company using the tool, especially when they’re trying to get compliant with the specific framework they’re targeting.

Vanta also has the best integrations in the industry. They’re custom-built, as opposed to most of the other major GRC tools that decided to use Leen (a great company, but a very different experience). Their pricing is on par with the value they deliver.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

The company removed partners’ ability to get accurate quotes directly from the site and now requires us to go through a person to figure out what to quote customers. This has added significant time (usually waiting time) to our proposal process. Other than that, there isn’t anything else I dislike.

**What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vanta has a solid multi-tenant view that lets us manage multiple companies at once, and it’s been pretty seamless. In our experience, out of all the GRC tools we’ve worked with (over 10), Vanta has consistently been far above the competition when it comes to supporting our customers’ compliance needs. It also provides a better day-to-day experience for our team handling the actual work: evidence collection, policy writing, auditor back-and-forth, and control remediation.

**What do you like best about Vanta?**

I really appreciate Vanta's simplicity and its simple user interface. It has helpful reminders, diligently prompting us when we need to update policies, documents, and track changes. I like that I don't have to manually check up on documentation, as Vanta sends me reminders for when a policy or document is approaching its renewal period. This allows me to renew it before it expires. The initial setup of Vanta was easy, and it integrates well with lots of our tools like AWS, GitHub, and Jira, which is great.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

I would say the only thing is maybe the revisions. Being able to manage the revisions of the documents. I wish some of the things like version control were a little more automated. And it could be just because I have older documents that haven't been updated to the new experience in Vanta, but having to remember to update certain dates manually is less than ideal.

Vanta automates the collection of audit evidence and integrates with our cloud tools, saving us from manually pulling evidence for auditors. It also provides simple reminders for policy renewals, ensuring we stay updated without manual checks.

**What do you like best about Vanta?**

I think Vanta provides a comprehensive UI and UX experience that clearly shows how well we comply with different frameworks. It integrates the auditing framework in a way that feels streamlined and easy to follow. Vanta also guides us through setting up regulatory controls by offering remedies and instructions on how to meet the requirements. Overall, these features make it much more accessible to manage compliance frameworks.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

I think the integration experience could be improved. The integrations do work, but I’ve had trouble getting them up and running. Even though the product shows you what you should be doing, once you hit an error you can feel a bit stuck. Customer support will work with you and they’re quite comprehensive, so you’re not truly left to your own devices, but it’s still easy to get hung up on certain integrations.

Also, I feel like ISO 9001 is more of an afterthought and not really a focus compared with more IT-regulated frameworks like SOC 2 or ISO 27001. The initial setup was fairly easy, but it still isn’t finished on our side. If you’re a company with an array of SaaS tools and you need to integrate each and every one of them, no one is really going to sit with you for a full day to run through all those integrations. In my experience, the onboarding isn’t necessarily very structured, and that’s where things can slow down.

I like that Vanta's user interface provides an easy single pane of glass to visualize all of the areas of our business that we are monitoring. It makes it quick to look at the dashboard and determine if all areas are meeting the requirements or if there are problems in certain areas. Also, setting up the integrations we have in place was simple.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

I would like to see more automation to meet SOC 2 requirements, like having an automated PowerShell script to install a password manager on an end user device right through the Vanta portal.

**What do you like best about Vanta?**

Super easy to use and configure the proper process for SOC 2 compliance.  We use it extensively with our external audit team and have been able to go  to a 12 month observation with ease for the past few years.

We were able to integrate and automate task into Jira tickets for engineering team members to resolve in a timely SLA.

We're on their old pricing plan which makes it a bit more economical for us and we thankfully have not seen significant increases.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

It's not super clear what my old pricing gets me and there's definitely some hesitancy in engaging with the customer team to be up sold or change plans to something that's more expensive and not more value.

SOC 2 Type 2 Compliance and we're able to make sure we fully document all our process, evidence and documents for ongoing compliance.

I like how Vanta provides monitoring and alerting for controls and tests, which gives a really clear view into required actions. It also helps us ensure we are performing required reviews, users complete training, documents are updated, and other tasks are done on the right schedule. Additionally, I appreciate its integration with our other tools like Azure and Checkr, making the whole process smoother. The initial setup was easy, too.

We had a challenge during an audit where 3 different audits were created in Vanta. I couldn't tell which one was live and we were receiving requests from the auditor in 2 of them. Preventing that would be good.

I use Vanta for GRC activities, and I find it very helpful to manage compliance in an automated way. I appreciate the fact that it includes lots of AI features, which help reduce manual work and ensure error-free processes. I particularly like the policy writing feature, which is the best part for me, and the various checklists for all different frameworks are so good and robust. The initial setup was good overall, despite integrations taking some time initially. Overall, using Vanta has been a good experience.

The tool is a bit expensive so it becomes difficult to convince the customer for taking the same. Some customers report the support team is a bit slow in urgent cases.

It creates a single source of truth. Policies, evidence, controls, and audit status all live together. When an auditor asks a question, you are not hunting across email, shared drives, and ticketing systems. You can see what is missing, what is stale, and what is already approved.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

There’s ongoing overhead to keep everything accurate. Integrations can break, agents go stale, users change roles, and environments evolve. When that happens, Vanta may flag issues that aren’t always a real risk, but they still require explanation or cleanup. The task lists and audit updates often reflect recurring work to refresh access reviews, evidence, and mappings, even outside formal audit windows.

It scales better than manual processes. As environments grow, staff changes, or frameworks stack up, Vanta keeps the structure intact. You are not rebuilding your compliance process every year or re teaching it to new team members from scratch.

I like Vanta because it's incredibly easy to use, and the dashboard is very intuitive. Even team members without deep expertise find the platform easy to navigate. The onboarding process is smooth, with very helpful workflows and clear task assignments. The customer support is excellent, very responsive, and knowledgeable, which I really appreciate. **What do you like best about Vanta?**

I like how Vanta automates and simplifies the process of proving compliance, making it easy for me by providing a series of tests that I can remediate. It breaks down huge and complicated tasks into an automated checklist of items tied to my MDM, IDP or other applications or infrastructure components. I can trust Vanta to identify issues so that I just go in and resolve them, saving me a ton of time because I don't have to check everything manually myself. Adding integrations in Vanta is also very easy, and I've successfully added more than a few since I started working with it.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

There's the occasional glitch here and there, which is expected for any product, but the support is great. One thing I want to see in Vanta is the ability to change the assigned department for certain tests because some tests are assigned to human resources but are truly more related to IT or Engineering. We can't change the categories because they're built into Vanta. I'd also like the ability to add custom frameworks. This might be more of a niche thing, but we had some collaboration with the finance department preparing for a specialized financial audit (I don't remember the exact name, but I know it's not in Vanta) with information systems components, which isn't available in Vanta as a supported framework like ISO 27001, GDPR, SOC 2, etc.

It also manages document cadence, reducing the work needed to obtain compliance for clients who need to meet several frameworks like ISO, SOC, and PCI. Many of my clients have switched from Drata to Vanta, and they are loving it. Since they had some expertise in Drata, using Vanta was a lot easier.

I like Vanta's AI model, which is very good. Whenever I upload evidence, it goes through the whole evidence and tells me what are the weak points and what are the gaps. I solve them, and then when I upload them again, Vanta tells me that my evidence is completely fine. That's the best feature.

Sometimes I wasn't able to log in to it. I'm not sure if it was my network problem. I'm not 100% sure. But apart from that, there wasn't anything else that I could find. I've been trying to use it with Claude, the MCP server, but I can't find a way to take the API key from Vanta. I'm not sure where to get that. I've been trying to Google it, but no.

**What do you like best about Vanta?**

I like the integrations available for continuous control monitoring and the dashboards that enable compliance for automated tests. The customer trust center questionnaire, which leverages AI for customer vendor inquiries, is very efficient. The setup was very easy working with Vanta's product engineers, and the UI is very intuitive. With the knowledge base and tagging options, we are able to upload customer questionnaires and use machine learning to save manual effort and time.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

I don't like the audit features where the external auditors have access to our environment. Last fall, during our SOC2 and ISO27001 external engagements, the auditors had historical access to every single automated test. Even if one cloud account failed out of 100,000, it would show up as failed. This led to a lot of false positives and gave the auditors issues that were truly not design or operating issues.

**What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Vanta to resolve our governance and oversight issues, improve efficiencies for audits, and ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and industry best practices.

**What do you like best about Vanta?**

I use Vanta to monitor compliance for ISO 27001, and it ensures our infrastructure stays compliant at all times. What I really like about Vanta is the way it summarizes vague ISO controls into very easy-to-understand tests and proofs, which makes us feel more confident in audits. It really knows what's needed from both technical and business teams. Plus, the initial setup was super easy.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

I feel like the platform was a bit slow in the past. It has improved but performance still feels like a small bottleneck.

**What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Vanta to ensure our infrastructure stays compliant, especially for ISO 27001. It makes the vague ISO controls clear with easy tests and proofs. This helps us feel more confident in audits.

**What do you like best about Vanta?**

Ease of use and user interface are very intuitive and easy to navigate. Integrations are straightforward to set up, and it effectively catches issues in real time.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

Some issues on AWS are hard to understand because the documentation around them isn’t always clear. It would help if the documentation were more specific and included more detail on how to resolve the problem. As a new user, I find it a bit tricky to follow and figure out what to do next.

**What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Vanta for SOC 2 compliance, and it helps us identify all sorts of issues across different resources like GitHub, AWS, and other tools we use in the company. Overall, it makes the process of getting compliant feel very easy.

**What do you like best about Vanta?**

I love how Vanta helps us with security purposes and SOC2 compliance. It automates our compliance and assists the engineering team with security reviews. It also helps organize company materials for employees to review when hired. I like its ease of use and how it sends reminders when tasks are overdue. Vanta consolidates all our data and provides insights on our ability to pass certain tests. Having gentle nudges from Vanta helps us not forget about our due tasks, allowing quick access to see what's due without searching.

**What do you like best about Vanta?**

I like how Vanta centralizes records across platforms, teams, and OUs, which makes compliance record-keeping for SOC2 more manageable. Its ease of integration with technology tools and platform services like the hyperscalers is also a big plus. I find Vanta efficient in reporting compliance gaps, with it taking about 24 hours to see when a rule is breached in a system. Additionally, updating policies and linking to exceptions is easy. The initial setup was super easy, which made getting started a breeze.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

There's an element of checkbox security theater with Vanta, like requiring all logs to be kept for a specific number of days. This approach feels lazy and can be expensive. I think Vanta could improve by discerning context rather than applying rules superficially. For example, it could determine the relative importance of logs in a production account compared to a developer sandbox, as no company views them as equivalent.

**What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Vanta for compliance record-keeping for SOC2. It centralizes records across platforms and teams, integrates easily with technology tools, and efficiently reports compliance gaps. I can update policies and link to exceptions easily, making it user-friendly for managing compliance.

**What do you like best about Vanta?**

I like the integrations in Vanta that keep all the information in one place. As part of the leadership team, I appreciate being able to get a good understanding of issues in GitHub and our SLA performance without needing direct access to GitHub like developers do. The initial setup was straightforward.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

Links in emails. For example, when I need to approve a risk, the link in the email just takes me to the risk register instead of the actual risk it referred to. So I need to search for the risk now to find it.

**What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vanta helps with traction and planning by integrating tools, allowing our leadership team to understand issues in GitHub and track SLAs without direct access.
