  ### 2. User Testing Feedback

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Cosmetics | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 21, 2024

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

UserTesting offers excellent power sessions that give you the opportunity to discuss any questions, concerns, etc. about your test with research professionals. I find these sessions to be extremely beneficial before making my tests and when analyzing the results.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Without the Power sessions to guide me, I find the template library can become overwhemling. It's often difficult to determine where to begin as tests can be created in many different ways. It would also be great if there was a tool that could summarize my test findings and overall sentiment without reviewing all the videos.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

UserTesting allows us to receive feedback on consumer sentiment of our images and website experience and ultimately helps us determine what our customers prefer and any necessary changes that need to be made.

  ### 3. Very quick, high quality research insights platform.

**Reviewed by:** Chase Elliott C. | Lead UX Researcher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

I've used it for years and am always happy with the participants. Being able to get same-day qualitative feedback on projects is very high value.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Some of the synthesis functionality on my seat is manual. You can upgrade to flex for AI features though, just costs more.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to "get out of the building" and capture external, non-biased feedback about concepts, problems and features.

  ### 4. Easy to set up tests, save or modify previous test structures

**Reviewed by:** Sam C. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2024

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

There is no streamlined way to pull videos from UserTesting into EnjoyHQ to write reports

  ### 7. Helpful in every way!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 10, 2024

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

UserTesting can be a powerful tool to understand how real people experience my organization's software. Here's how I leverage it within my team. I start by defining clear goals for my user testing session. What specific questions do I have about user behaviour? UserTesting offers its participant pool, or I can recruit my testers based on my target audience. Once participants are selected, I'll create a test scenario with tasks for users to complete while interacting with the interface. The beauty of UserTesting is that it facilitates remote, unmoderated sessions. Users complete the tasks on their own while recording their screen and audio. This allows me to observe genuine user reactions and thought processes without influencing their experience. After the test, UserTesting provides recordings of each participant's session. I can watch them individually or share them with my team. As I analyze the recordings, I pay attention to areas where users struggle or hesitate. This can reveal issues with the interface's usability. UserTesting also offers tools to highlight key moments and create clips for easy reference and discussion with my colleagues. By synthesizing the findings from the user testing sessions, I can identify opportunities to improve the user experience.UserTesting empowers my organization to make data-driven decisions based on real user behaviour.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

It's best to use UserTesting if you don't need a really niche audience (that I would recommend to recruit rather yourself). It's also not that easy to prove that the details that users provide about themselves are genuine, sometimes there is a concern whether the user that was testing the functionality was actually meeting the criteria, but UserTesting follows the policy of just trusting people.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's the best for A/B tests or tests where you need a broad audience. If you don't need a real niche audience (that you should recruit then rather yourself), then you can rely on UserTesting. It's good because it's so quick, almost instant, it takes about 10 minutes on average before I can start reviewing and documenting sessions.

It's quite straightforward how to use the platform. It can take a couple of times to get how to set up a test and you will need to play around to find a good audience (with that I'd say it's safer to go for a broader audience if possible). But in general, I never had a problem with the usability of the platform itself.

UserTesting is definitely improving the services and the quality of the delivery. I find that it also gives you some peace of mind that you test the software for potential mistakes. It's also good to be able to get suggestions from users on how they would recommend to improve the overall functionality.

I love having the ability to quickly and easily spin up a test that allows me to validate design concepts. I also really enjoy the UT customer support team, and the guidance they provide to me and my team.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

The 'session credit' model is a little convoluted and makes it difficult to easily determine the # of units you'll need to complete a given test.

I regularly use it to pressure test early-stage design concepts and late-stage prototypes for a number of digital products.

**Reviewed by:** Corey S. | Founder, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2024

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

Due to UserTesting's market size, you can get very fast results from its vast pool of testers. It has also grown (or acquired) a lot so that it has many tools and methods for collecting user feedback.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

The biggest downside is the cost, as the per-subject costs seem reasonable, but the per-seat licenses do not seem reasonable.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

UserTesting allows me to get quick feedback on product feature ideas and design mockups.

  ### 19. Overall UserTesting is great for unmoderated testing

It's fast and simple to run tests with UT's participants and overall UserTesting is extremely easy to use. I didn't really need any training the first time I used it, it's been easy enough to figure things out with the occasional help from UserTesting's help articles. The automated transcription also works great!

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

I wish it was easier to install UserTesting on a browser for new users, so it we could test unmoderated with our own users. Analysis could also be more automated.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

UserTesting helps us test new prototypes and ideas easily and quickly with their user audience.

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2024

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

Their panel of participants is inside broad and easy to drill down into.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Creating highlight reels is quite tedious.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quick recruitment of participants

  ### 26. Great original tool, junky integrations

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 16, 2024

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

Their original tool is unmatched, user friendly, quick tester response, quick customer support.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Junky integration after consolidating so many companies. Was forced+upsold for hundreds of thousands of dollars to get access to additional tools not integrated into their ecosystem. It will take years for them to fully integrate. That means we get access to tools that do not talk to each other, that work differently, different customer service reps, different everything. You have to relearn every one. Many of them have poor usability. Also, each of them have their own upselling and pricing models. They are different companies which UT has linked from their main site. That's it. And we were forced to this sub-par experience. By forced, I mean they told us they were going to stop supporting our account.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Access to user feedback.

  ### 27. Recruit as many participants as you need in MINUTES using a detailed screener

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2024

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

When launching a test with stringent recruitment criteria, my biggest fear is the amount of time it will take to get participants who qualify. *Knock on wood* Usertesting has not failed me in this department yet and usually provides participants within a day, even sometimes in 30 minutes!

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

UserTesting still has to work on its AI features as it is not fully accurate. Especially when it comes to analyzing participants' sentiments, I don't find their negative/positive analyses to be particularly helpful. I usually ignore it. If anything, it creates more visual noise in the transcription of the user sessions.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Given that UserTesting pre-screens and has a robust repository of participants, I save a lot of time because I don't have to draft consent forms and get participants to sign documents before getting into the main testing.

  ### 28. Great experience for internal UX corporate research

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rayan-Charles R. | Digital Product Associate, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2024

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

I like being able to compare websites and have it be randomized in the way it is presented to the user to avoid biaisis. It's really powerfull to compare against competitors or event two version of our own website

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Sometimes the users can be very direct meaning that they will say whatever they have in mind,

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

User testing help us having real user feedback on our D2C websites

  ### 29. Top notch customer support

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shannon G. | Director of Design Research, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

Impeccable customer service from a company that listens to its customers, as reflected by noticeable updates to the product in a timely manner

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Some occasional lag time from support when a study may be impacted

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're able to recruit and test quickly and efficiently which is in line with how our PDO operates!

  ### 30. Would recommend UserTesting to any UX team!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anna B. | Freelance UX/Brand Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 10, 2023

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

The amount of features and different ways to utilize it within our UX team. It's easy to set up different methods and the results are fast.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Utilizing two sets of tests (like A/B) to test designs and excluding group 1 participants so they can't see the other version or can participate in both groups. It could mess with the data results.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Time management and fast result delivery. Setting up testing or interviews ourselves outside of the platform takes way more time and effort.

  ### 31. Useful research asset with growing toolbox of features

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** August 21, 2024

The quality of participants for moderated and unmoderated sessions is strong and reliable

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

The current state of the survey tool isn't ideal, and some issues with exporting darta

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

UT allows us to address tactical points of interest in our products, by facilitating our access to a relevant user base

  ### 32. A very fast way to get answers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shaina C. | Design Lead, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2024

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

The intuitive platform and result speed it provided.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

It didn't do the analyses for us, we'd have to include all the videos to Dovetail so there we could tag and categorized themes. We had the product for a year and were power users, when trying to renew our plan the salesteam was very not-receptive and did not want us to renew.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solved a lot of decision-making we had when we had 3 options of prototypes. It also allowed us to test AI prompts and see which ones users preferred.

  ### 33. UserTesting is used by our researchers, designers and PMs

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 10, 2024

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

UserTesting has become a significant part of our user research toolkit, and PMs and Designers use it. It offers robust customer support and facilitates easy collaboration within our team. It has streamlined the process of finding and incentivising the right participants, especially when we're targeting specific user demographics. The platform's intuitive design has also made it easy for our team members to quickly adapt and integrate it into our workflow.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

However, as with most panels, quite a few participants take part in studies out of monetary reasons mainly and sometimes aren't a good fit. For this, using the right screeners is crucial for us. I wish we could use unlimited screeners in our subscription though.

I can't speak to its analysis features as I'm doing qualitative analysis outside of UserTesting which better fits my personal workflow.

Despite these obstacles, UserTesting remains a vital asset for our team, helping us to gather valuable user insights efficiently.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem of finding study participants quickly for our research studies.

The integration with EnjoyHQ is not optimized and creates a disruption in workflow.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves the problem of usability testing outside of our organization by taking care of recruiting, consent forms, and compensation.

  ### 35. Still exploring User Testing's functionalities for my organization, but it has been very useful

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2024

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** November 23, 2021

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

The fact that one can check the and observe how actual users react on interacting with the product is a massive advantage. Another important aspect from digital products side is that we can validate our design solutions without actually having developed and run an AB test to find which one works the best.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

The testers, on more than some occasions, just rush through the tests, which might give little skewed results. Also, the level of audience targeting and segmentation can be further elaborative.

Comparative testing on mobile screens needs a lot of improvement.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Validating our design ideas without having actually to develop and test. This saves our development cost and also saves a good amount of time. Apart from that, we get some high level trends and inclinations of users.
