They offer a very good service. Setting up the profile is easy and the guides make the procedure even easier so having a professional profile is something everyone can do. On the other hand, the work options and the organization of the page are usually very good and through it. I have been able to contact companies from all over the world that has opened me the doors to infinite opportunities. It is really a tool to find a job very simple to use. A simple, fast and efficient way to connect with job opportunities around the world. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
In general I have no complaints about the service of Upwork but perhaps my biggest misadventure with them has been the fact that they usually place the profiles in private when you have been some time without entering money to the page, so that it becomes a bit more cumbersome to get customers or being contacted by companies, since they cannot access to all of your information, and I think, it is not a productive decision because they make difficult instead of facilitating the option of getting clients or job offers. Upwork does connect you with freelancers around the world who are mostly pretty good workers and at low cost Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I hired a freelancer through Upwork who placed phishing malware in the Google Sheet that I gave the freelancer editing access to. Luckily Google noticed the phishing malware and placed a big, yellow warning banner on the Google Sheet, and Google also sent me a warning email. When I complained to Upwork with the proof from Google - sending them a link to the Sheet and a screenshot of the email from Google - and asked for the money back that I had paid the freelancer, Upwork weirdly insisted that I enter into arbitration with the freelancer where he got a chance to "tell his side of the story". The freelancer infected my Google Sheet with phishing malware. You can't "negotiate" with a scammer. Of course he's going to deny it. It's just a weird way for Upwork to do business. Under the circumstances, my request for $150 back is extremely reasonably, considering I lost a day of my time trying to remove malware from the Sheet, re-doing his work, and delaying my project.
As if this weren't enough, the way the arbitration is set up, when I responded to the arbitration request from my professional email, my signature line showed up in the arbitration documentation. So now the scammer has access to my contact information because he can see all the documents in the arbitration. And there is no way for me to delete or edit that record from the arbitration. Upwork's disregard for security is pretty alarming. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love how easy the website and app are to use. It's very well organized and user friendly. When I have a project, I use it daily, especially for the time tracking and the messaging features. Downloading and signing up was easy. I have never had to work with customer service, so I can't speak to that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
the app version on the mac needs some improvements. When you closeout the main page, it automatically reduces to a paired down version. I cannot figure out how to bring the full version back up without quitting the app entirely and reopening. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The initial payment of the client are reasonable and the client is across from the world. So getting exposure to work is more even earning more money per hour rate also good Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some are the client are offering work demographics only and they preferred their location so the posting of that type of vendors are not useful to across globe freelancers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Upwork offers a vast area for freelancers across number of industries, making it easy to find freelance work. Its user-friendly interface allows quick navigation and clear communication between clients and freelancers. The filter features make it easy to find relevant projects, and the review and rating system helps to build trust and credibility. It is easy to use for anyone, and their consumer support is somewhat better than other apps Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The service fees is very high, for new freelancers who haven’t built long-term contracts, as Upwork takes a good percentage from earnings. Also, the platform can become saturated, making it difficult for new freelancers to compete. The customer support, while responsive, sometimes lacks depth in resolving more complex issues. And the ease of integration is not at all there. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I liked that there are many other platforms available Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As a long-standing client of Upwork, it deeply saddens me to say that the platform has significantly declined in quality and client satisfaction over the years. I’ve previously spoken highly of Upwork, having found great freelancers through the site, but now I feel compelled to speak out about its shortcomings.
Upwork’s management appears short-sighted in their decision-making, focusing more on immediate profit than fostering long-term relationships with their users. This has led to increased fees, poor customer support, and restrictive policies that make it difficult for both freelancers and clients to thrive. It’s clear that their priority is no longer about creating a mutually beneficial environment but maximizing revenue at the expense of user experience.
Additionally, I’ve noticed a sharp decline in the quality of available talent, with many experienced freelancers choosing other platforms due to these very reasons. This has left clients like myself facing higher costs for lower-quality work, which is frustrating and unacceptable.
After years of loyalty, I am extremely disappointed and will now be exploring alternative freelance platforms. There are far better options out there that offer more transparency, better service, and truly care about fostering long-term relationships between clients and freelancers.
Upwork had great potential, but its current path is not sustainable. I can no longer recommend it, and I intend to speak just as strongly against it as I once did in favor of it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It used to be a really good platform. But I can't say anything good at this moment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
They are greedy and require conencts for everything. They either can't control spam job or they are funding spammers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
