I have joined Upwork for only six months ago and i can truly say that i had a great experience working there. I like most how free i am to work and select the projects that i am interested to work in and when to work as well, unlike having to work on a project just because i am hired on a company. Also, i liked that i can earn money and gain know knowledge while i am home. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The best thing about UpWork is the amount of talent they have to choose from. Literally hundreds of copywriters, coders, designers, etc - and the bios/profiles of each make it easier to learn more about the contractor without even having to speak to them (quickly vetting them) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I really appreciate how supportive the Upwork team has been to our Dotdash account. They have been a wonderful resource and always so friendly and professional. Since our company covers freelancer fees incurred by Upwork, the downside is having to do the math on adding 10% to payments that are not BYO. It is also hard to determine who are BYO freelancers as it is not clearly shown on the contract. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Firstly, the Upwork consultants and accounts team are incredible. They consistently go out of their way to assist in our projects and help from billing to sourcing talent.

Secondly, the talent on Upwork is amazing. Once you get the hang after 1-2 projects, you can begin to build a "stable" of contacts for projects. I can especially recommend creative (video, graphic design, presentation) specific freelancers who have delivered impactful work at the fraction of the cost and time of a leading agency competitor. If there was anything to nitpick, it would be the user interface as it takes a little getting used to. After your first project it becomes pretty easy to navigate, and of course it helps to have an Upwork contact to help clarify questions as needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It's really expensive, including the instances where they're adding limited value. We've had good and bad experiences with our support teams, and when you have the wrong account managers it turns into a mess. The system can be rigid, which at times has caused hiccups and slowed our ability to run our business.
