## UpCloud Reviews
  ### 1. Responsive and great support channels, fair CPU server pricing and good amount of features

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kristian O. | Software Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2025

**What do you like best about UpCloud?**

Extremely responsive and great customer support, no need to wait to get responses to your questions and feedback is taken to team directly from the support chat.

Servers offer latest 5th Gen EPYC CPUs (9575F to be specific), which have very good performance for both multi-core and single-core needs.

Very generous "Fair Usage Limit" for outgoing network bandwidth outside the DC's. It's basically free egress unless you're doing something really heavy, in which case I believe a quick chat with the customer support will solve that as well.

For more direct server management/usage, it's been very easy to use, instructions on how to connect to the server using SSH are easily available and reflect the current network settings of given server.

The CPU server pricing is very fair given the above, and I have a 24/7 WebRTC SFU running on one lower-end server without any issues or downtime so far.

**What do you dislike about UpCloud?**

GPU pricing is bit heavier compared to other providers, also there's only single GPU model available at the moment and it's only NVIDIA (L40S). Would love to see other vendors for their SR-IOV support.

Lack of CaaS (Container as a Service) features, there's Kubernetes but that's quite heavy for my simpler needs.

Lack of Team/Project grouping or similar feature which allows multiple accounts to manage shared servers with possibly shared funds. The feature is in their roadmap, however I believe this is quite important for any larger projects and should've been added long ago.

Some of the server templates are very outdated, granted it's hard to keep a rolling distribution such as Arch up-to-date, but since it's an option - I'd expect it to be kept up-to-date with couple months of lag atleast, not over a year. Additionally, the custom image storage option is perhaps bit too pricey, since you can have storage device with same size bundled with a server plan for way cheaper.

**What problems is UpCloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We utilize UpCloud with low-latency cloud streaming for virtual desktops, gaming and other needs. Our solution requires recent and capable CPU models to handle multitude of workloads, with powerful enough GPU to handle anything from 3D modeling and rendering to gaming on the go. So far UpCloud is meeting those expectations very well, other providers tend to use older and/or weaker CPUs which always were a bottleneck for our needs.

  ### 2. UpCloud is great choice for growing businesses

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gulshan K. | Server Administrator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 11, 2025

**What do you like best about UpCloud?**

As a sysadmin with over a decade in managing cloud infrastructures, I’ve worked with multiple providers but UpCloud has stood out for the last 5 years as my most reliable choice. Their intuitive dashboard, free daily backups, and lightning-fast live chat support streamline my workflow and keep systems running flawlessly. Zero downtime in half a decade is rare in this industry, and that’s exactly what I’ve experienced. Recommended by a trusted peer, UpCloud continues to deliver the performance and stability that serious professionals demand.

**What do you dislike about UpCloud?**

If I could suggest one improvement, it would be to make disk resizing and password resets more seamless, as they currently involve a bit of manual work.

**What problems is UpCloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

UpCloud enables me to manage WordPress sites for my clients with complete peace of mind, knowing data is secure, backups are automatic, and uptime is consistent. This reliability frees me to focus on delivering value to my clients instead of troubleshooting infrastructure issues.

  ### 3. Solid EU Cloud Provider

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jean-Paul d. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 06, 2025

**What do you like best about UpCloud?**

Great performance, modern and easy online interface. It is super easy to implement instances, and supports features such a reverse dns settings without customer contact. Further more the integration with infrastructure as code tooling is very good. I've not had a need to contact customer support as everything is smooth and easy, however they reached out me to see how we are doing and whether we required any assistance. That was a nice touch. Our services are running daily, with easy backups integrated. Furthermore have I already mentioned this is an EU provider, and owned wholly by an EU company. This is important for data sovereignty.

**What do you dislike about UpCloud?**

The only downside I've found at the moment is billing; I'm not keep on the top up system, it makes invoicing in a business context and processing the receipts cumbersome. But what is truly cumbersome is that there is no grouping of services, and thus applying different cost centers and processing them quickly is a pain. Not only that, the bills include the UUID and not the names or tags. I hope they resolve this quickly.

**What problems is UpCloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Providing our datacenter in a manner that enables data souvernity within the EU.

  ### 4. Simple reliable fast hosting.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David E. | IT Manager/Devops/Systems Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2025

**What do you like best about UpCloud?**

After 2 years.....
Easy to spin up multiple different VMs qucikly and then delete them when you're done.
Simple interface that is clear and works really well. You can logon to a VM after a few clicks and about 45 seconds.
API so you can do lots from code & Terraform.
I've seen comments about complicated costings and poor support. In my experiance support has been very good, when I've needed it.
How much something is going to cost is very clear, you know how much it is before you create the service. Ongoing costs can be complicated to work out as all costs are logged by a UUID, but that's getting updated I believe.
Costs are very competive.
Disks are very quick, even the standard disks.
No charge for Egress is brilliant.
Documentaion is good.
I get a server console and can watch it boot.
Only really used for VMs and a bit of Object Storage. Not used DBs or K8s.
We have multiple VMs behind Nginx proxy servers.
Multiple datacenters in different countries.
New services constantly being added.

**What do you dislike about UpCloud?**

This isn't Azure or AWS, don't expect the same things they offer. There are limted services available, which might not suite everyone, but what's there is very good.

**What problems is UpCloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed easy to configre fast hosting and a resoanble cost.

  ### 5. Outstanding Performance and Lightning-Fast Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rumen D. | Senior DevOps Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 27, 2025

**What do you like best about UpCloud?**

It's great to be using the new AMD EPYC, as it offers a noticeable improvement. I also appreciate the very fast response from support, which has made my experience even better.

**What do you dislike about UpCloud?**

So far, I haven't encountered any issues with UpCloud.

**What problems is UpCloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am using UpCloud for personal purposes, not for business, so I don't have an opinion on how it performs in a business context.

  ### 6. The perfect balance between performances and simplicity of use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pierre Jean D. | CEO, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2025

**What do you like best about UpCloud?**

Upcloud bring prices adapted to your business (we spend thousand of eur monthly) . We are using upcloud during 11 years.... (we started in october 2014) and support, prices, upgrades was always their at the right moment for us....support is very good and with an high IT level. very easy to understand, very easy to manage...all is think to be just "business oriented" with a minimum of time spent on non-valuable time. Very easy to onboard everybody from non-technical to technical people. SLA is quiete perfect too.

**What do you dislike about UpCloud?**

In 11 years of use we did not have any negative feedback to give.

**What problems is UpCloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cost problem : while other system with other client had a natural spent growth, we control easily it with Upcloud and maintain the level of cost we want.
Performances : the infrastructure is really good
Ease of deployment : all is accessible easily and non-technician understand the interface too.

  ### 8. Upcloud is the most approachable service I know.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joop R. | Researcher and Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 13, 2025

**What do you like best about UpCloud?**

The best thing about UpCloud is their service. I find that I actually deal with people and over the years, usually with the same people. That is just great.
Also, the dashboard and subsequent screens are really clear and they've got great help. As individual user/developer, at times I find it hard to find all the intricacies of running a server and then their help is really valuable

**What do you dislike about UpCloud?**

I'd be hard pressed to come up with things I don't like about UpCloud.

**What problems is UpCloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm on a long term open source development project and run CouchDB, RabbitMQ, Apache and such for remote deployment and testing on two servers.

  ### 9. Great new cloud infrastructure provider

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2025

**What do you like best about UpCloud?**

Easy to use platform and best support team ever.
Costs are low.
Real easy to implement infrastructure ad code and terraform with lots of online samples
It will be my goto platform in the future

**What do you dislike about UpCloud?**

Missing global cross datacenter load balancing and DNS with Geo blocking to be able to build zone redundancy accross data centers
Server group network security rules
Lack for build in terraform backend "s3" support for storing terraform state online. Eventhough this can be done using a Managed Object Storage it would be nice to have it supported out of the box and integrated in the upcloud terraform provider
Maybe build in support in UI for creating server templates

**What problems is UpCloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I do not need to be conserned with hardware server OS issues
