The ability to utilize their marketplace for established assets. Save a ton of time and money not having to build things from scratch. Using prebuilt scripts has given us the opportunity to focus more on UI and Design. There are a lot of open-source scripts and programs to utilize. I like that we are able to collaborate efficiently between teams. The new AR and VR features help us not only to navigate the new hardware but look at new features that we can implement into our software suites. The photo-realistic environments that are in the asset stores are amazing and we are able to find assets that work really well with our stage tools. Debugging can sometimes be a pain and finding solutions to errors can be troublesome at times. I do wish that the marketplace had more free features and assets to pull from. I do love the plug-ins but would like to see some better rendering tools and not have to rely on outside resources to make our photorealistic environments stand out. unity 3d is a super complete tool for the development of apps and games with a lot of 3d content, for years we have used it for augmented reality and virtual reality projects and we have always managed to make projects with the highest quality. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The price of the monthly license is high for some territories such as Latin America, something I don't like is that in order to have the monthly license they require a minimum one-year plan paid month by month, which makes it very difficult to commit to hiring it for a year, should give the option to hire him for a month. IF YOU READ THIS, DO NOT GET UNITY!!! It is so frustrating that i have been trying to make a very simple game, and i have had EIGHT FAILED ATTEMPTS all because Unity, the "Best and most used" game software DELETED EVERYTHING I HAVE DONE!!! Beware. If you use unity, don't put too much work into your projects because all of your hard work WILL be deleted. And the errors! if you make ONE mistake, it can cause AN INSANE amount of compiling errors that you can't fix. I have an example, actually! One time, I MISCLICKED and the errors tab said 999+ errors. So far in my 7 years of gaem development, I found unity, one of the best game engine ever. Easiness and quick learning is one the best thing. It has a huge community to support and a lot of package help you shorten your work. Object base working make the structure easy to understand and reusable. We have made a lot of hit games using Unity for playstore and iOS. Moreover it has the cross platform ability so you can publish the same source code to multiple platforms like mobile, website and consoles.
