**What do you like best about Unily?**

What stands out most about Unily is how it pulls everything into one place without feeling cluttered. It combines intranet, communication tools, and employee resources in a way that actually feels usable day to day. The personalization is a big plus too - people see content that's relevant to them instead of a generic feed, which makes it feel more practical than just another company portal. Personalization shows relevant content, saving time and reducing noise. Integrated tools keep everything in one place, making work faster, simpler, and more connected throughout the day. The initial setup was easy as we already have SharePoint, which we linked and reorganized in a specific way that Unily wanted. I use Unily with Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook, which helps keep communication, documents, and daily tasks in one workflow.

**What do you dislike about Unily?**

Search can be unreliable, making content harder to find. The platform may feel heavy or slow at times, and new users can struggle with its complexity and navigation.

**What problems is Unily solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Unily to create a company portal where we can centralize information. It keeps SharePoint documents accessible in one place, pulls everything together without clutter, reduces noise with personalization, and makes work faster with integrated tools.

This capability is complemented by the platform's versatility in producing a wide variety of content, from engaging news articles to dynamic media and interactive pages, all tailored to meet our unique business requirements. Additionally, Unily's impressive selection of widgets offers us the flexibility to customize layouts, enhancing user engagement and functionality. With coverage in both the US and UK, we benefit from the ability to focus on upgrades and receive support across a wide window of time, ensuring smooth operations and minimal interruptions. **What do you dislike about Unily?**

While Unily offers many excellent features, one area where it falls short is in its reporting capabilities for the broadcast center. Unlike platforms such as Mailchimp and Constant Contact, Unily does not provide the ability to view detailed analytics regarding specific employees who have engaged with a communication. We understand that this limitation is largely attributed to Unily's UK base and adherence to GDPR regulations. However, this constraint makes it challenging for us to transition the majority of our internal communication emails away from other paid providers, as we require that level of detail to confirm the receipt of critical messages.

**What problems is Unily solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Unily supports us in reaching a geographically diverse audience who work in office, remotely, and in the field to provide them with the news and resources they need.

**What do you like best about Unily?**

I like Unily for its user-friendly interface and centralized access to information. It makes communication more efficient and helps teams quickly find updates, documents, and resources in one place. I appreciate how it reduces email dependency and supports better coordination across teams, leading to more efficient operations. The initial setup was fairly straightforward and the platform was easy to configure and customize to meet our workflow needs. I also enjoy how Unily integrates with other tools like email clients, document management systems, and calendar or task management apps, which helps streamline workflows.

Some areas where Unily could improve include making search results more accurate, enhancing the mobile experience, and providing better integration with other tools. Faster load times and more user guidance would also help improve overall usability.

Unily has proven to be an exceptionally valuable platform for our internal communications. It excels at effectively cascading leadership messages across the organization, ensuring alignment and engagement. Initially recommended by a service provider, Unily was selected after thorough research and analysis—and it met our requirements perfectly.  The setup process was smooth and exceeded expectations, thanks to its intuitive design. The user interface is thoughtfully crafted, making navigation across pages and applications seamless. Unily enables dynamic and easy content publishing, which aligns well with our need for a non-static, engaging platform.  I’m particularly impressed by its capabilities in broadcasting, tracking user journeys, and leveraging data for informed decision-making. The platform offers a rich feature set, including a user-friendly CMS, robust media management, audience targeting, and strong security protocols. Features like the ideation portal and advanced reporting tools further enhance its value.  Integration with other software and CRM systems is another standout, allowing us to work efficiently across platforms. Looking ahead, we’re excited about the potential for tenant-specific AI integration and enhanced security features within Unily’s SaaS framework.

**What do you dislike about Unily?**

While Unily offers many strengths, I find the placement and limitations of its reconfigurable components—referred to as 'widget'—to be somewhat restrictive. Their proprietary nature feels overly closed, which can limit flexibility and customization.  There’s a clear need for more seamless navigation and broader integration capabilities with various applications, like SAP, CRM, ERP and many more.  Additionally, simplifying the development process would be a significant improvement. Opening up these components could unlock a wider range of use cases, extending beyond narrowly defined target audiences. Tailoring functionalities based on industry-specific needs would greatly enhance the platform’s overall utility and relevance.

I use Unily as our internal communication portal to streamline the delivery of management messages across the organization. It ensures that content remains dynamic, intuitive, and easy to publish—driving consistent engagement across teams.

**What do you like best about Unily?**

We find Unily to be an excellent all-round employee experience platform (EXP). Unily provides a good range of very useful tools to help engage and communicate with employees, from a broadcast/emailer tool, AI features for both users and admins, campaign management, employee journeys, governance, social features/enterprise social networks, mobile app, news, search, analytics, as well as more traditional intranet-style sites and pages - all with modern, good-looking and intuitive user interface.  It integrates with our Microsoft suite so that it doesn't feel separate from our other tools. The CMS is very easy for everyday content creation, and there is a good amount of flexibility in design and application of company brand. The user support is very good, with dedicated customer success managers, a responsive technical support team and an excellent site for client resources and help, including regular best practice calls. There is dedicated onboarding support when first implementing your Unily EXP to get everything set up. The team are keen to keep innovating and growing the employee experience.

**What do you dislike about Unily?**

There aren't many things! Analytics could be better (though this is being actively tackled). CMS permissioning is a little complicated. Sometimes it feels the focus can be more on the big-ticket developments rather than ironing out the small-but-important things such as providing more flexibility in the design and configuration of some everyday platform elements - but this is also improving.

**What problems is Unily solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A central, accessible place for employees to find the information and tools they need for their jobs, and to engage with their company and their colleagues. A way for the Communications team to let employees know what's going on, in an easy-to-use and visually-engaging way. Allows us to keep innovating in how we do all this.

Unily was a friendly solution, with prepared engineers and with a supportive Customer Success manager, they are used to manage the ambiguities and better deliver the needs with efficiency.

**What do you dislike about Unily?**

Unily is a very good partner, and I appreciate the way we move forward with our demands.
As a point of improvement, I would suggest having a clear information in the contract about the licensing modeling and include some CIP hours in the contract to support the companies with extra needs.
I would also suggest including in the agreements support hours, this will keep the WOW faster and about the companies to spend hours reading the articles and understanding how to implement /update solutions.

**What do you like best about Unily?**

I cannot say enough about the team behind the platform. They are constantly using customer feedback to iterate and improve the user experience. We have support from both our CSM and TSM, plus the terrific customer support team that handles tickets. I also like how we can tailor our permissions for content creators. Using Views, System Settings, and the Developer tool to introduce customizations to sites, pages, widgets, and the overall experience for our employees is a big plus.

**What do you dislike about Unily?**

I wish the analytics could be more granular for our users. We cannot get the raw data from Unily and that stops us from being able to track and crunch data by business, etc.

**What problems is Unily solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a hub for all employees, and so we built The Hub on Unily. The Hub is where our employees start their workdays, access their Apps and Tools, catch up on what is happening in their business unit and the company overall, and share Kudos for a job well done. We've integrated our ServiceNow search into the Hub search, and have integrated Hub search into M365 Copilot to help tie all of our resources together, making finding information that much easier.

**What do you like best about Unily?**

I really appreciate the pace of updates from Unily and the quality of their customer support. They take our feedback seriously, and through ideation, we can see that feedback brought to life in their regular updates throughout the year. The implementation process was both thorough and easy to navigate. With the wide range of features and widgets available, we can customize our pages extensively, and the drag-and-drop system makes it all incredibly simple to use.

**What do you dislike about Unily?**

I don’t necessarily dislike anything, but I do feel that the social features on Unily could be easier to use and implement. I’d also love to see content creation on the front end become more user-friendly. Having multiple 'create' buttons for different content types makes the page look cluttered. A single 'create' button that lets users choose their content type would be a much cleaner and more intuitive solution.

We needed a central hub where our employees could easily find information, their Apps and Tools and learn more about our products and services, and stay connected with the latest news from our leadership team. With Unily, we now have the tools to communicate effectively with employees, whether through content, pop-ups, broadcasts, or notifications when they follow Topics on the platform.

Inconsistencies in the backend. The same tasks are differently in different areas. No way to make bulk changes (eg remove mulitple people from security groups, unpublish pages etc)

One central site for the whole company. We're a large, complex audience and it is the first time we can direct ALL staff to one portal. Makes communicating key messages much easier

**What do you like best about Unily?**

The support we receive is unmatched! We meet with our CMS biweekly and receive metrics, updates on new features coming and we work together on continuous improvement goals for the year. With a broad range of features, we are able to ensure our employees have access to the news, resources and tools they need to succeed, while making it easy for our team to manage content. Unily is also constantly releasing updates and new features that keep employees and teams in mind.

**What do you dislike about Unily?**

At the moment, there is an inconsistency with widget appearances (text size, style, placement, etc.) between older and newer widgets that make things look disconnected. However, Unily has said they have plans to fix this, which will be very helpful. 

Otherwise, the customization of widget branding is slightly limited and the page layout options are sometimes limited as well.

**What problems is Unily solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Unily helps us connect a global audience, providing a place where employees can find a single source of truth and organizations can have dedicated spaces to share news, initiatives, and resources. By making the intranet their access point, they can easily find what they're looking for through search and enhanced navigation. It also makes information more accessible for non-desk workers and those working in the field through our mobile app.

Unily is very customisable and offers great flexibility. You can control who has access to content, who can create it, and the permissions assigned to each role. The platform encourages creativity with its widgets and functionalities, allowing you to bring your vision to life. It enables content to be centralised and easily accessible from a single source, and building pages is straightforward; you don’t need extensive technical knowledge to create something quickly and effectively.

Although the out-of-the-box features are excellent, it can be frustrating when you see an exciting feature showcased on Universe or used by other clients, only to discover it belongs to an additional module that requires separate access.

The platform has tons of features and widgets that allow you to play around and "build the blocks". The backend is easy to navigate. It enables you access to a very intuitive, helpful analytics dashboard - adding so much visibility to the intranet's performance. Great customer service and resourceful library knowledge too.

**What do you dislike about Unily?**

Tickets take a long time to process - might take up to a week to get the issue resolved. Also, it'd be great to have access to more customizable features without paying additional cost.

**What do you like best about Unily?**

- the SaaS product has been extremely robust, in over 4 years we have had no overall outages that weren't planned maintenance.  There was one incident where the issue was the underlying MS Azure services, but even that affected only a small portion of our users and was quickly resolved.
- Unily is very security / GDPR conscious - this is important to us and Unily has been extremely responsive in addressing any questions we have had in these areas.   We consider their compliance in these areas to be top tier among our supplier base.
- The Unily Universe site has so much customer relevant information on all aspects of the product and there is a pretty healthy amount of customer to customer social interaction - exchanging tips, tricks and ideas.
- The platform really gives us a lot of flexibility.   There is a huge amount of "out of the box" functionality, that allows us to build our employee intranet and other solutions pretty quickly.   And it let's our content creators create engaging content without requiring support from IT.   On the flip side, the product allows for a great deal of custom development and configuration and we have taken full advantage of this to develop really cool solutions to business problems.

**What do you dislike about Unily?**

There are 2 areas for improvement and one area that needs some serious discussions with customers

- improve support.   The support team are knowledgeable for the most part, but tickets can take a long time to progress through escalation to closure.
- improve the developer experience.   The product offers considerable capabilities for custom development and configuration, and there is a great deal of information available on the Unily Universe customer support site.   But more is needed, specifically more support needs to be available to developers on a more timely basis.
- there is a need for Unily to get more input from customers that are impacted by the products switch to the feature store.   While this is overall an improvement in how new features are delivered, there have been impacts to the customers that built and customized their Unily content.

**What problems is Unily solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Unily has become our primary channel for employee communications, replacing a number of outdated legacy intranet solutions
- Unily is a hub for accessing our key business applications and for setting up specific sites supporting business functions / organizations
- Our front-line workforce (break-fix service, professional services, managed services) provides most of our business revenue.   Unily has become a key component in how we deliver business knowledge to our workforce.   For example, our service organization relies on Unily to host thousands of service manual, hundreds of videos explaining how to fix products and FAQs, service bulletins, news about service apps, etc.   The other key part of this is that Unily is fully mobile enabled and allows us to distribute a mobile app with all the same content and features as the desktop web version.   This gives our mobile workforce full access to the same information as our back office workers.
- Besides our employee intranet, we have build external portals for our customers and our sales and service partners.  We are able to load one set of content and share it to employees over the intranet and to our customers and partners over these external portals.   One product - multiple portals - no content duplication or replication required.   Easy security architecture to safely partition the information in such a way that we can internal information visible only to employees, but share information with external users.

Unily has been a great partner. We're able to take advantage of the many options, features, and functionality that they offer for their internet. We love that it is easy to use, customizable within reason, and user friendly. We'd love for there to be additional customizable options for end users to take advantage of. Currently, there are offerings from Unily, but many of the customized choices are only offered at an additional SOW cost. If there were more out of the box solutions, but with some small custom options (such as icon changes, colors, etc) this would be a great enhancement.

**What problems is Unily solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Unily has helped with giving the organization a platform to share communications and critical messaging to all employees in a clean, user friendly layout. We utilize Unily for our employee intranet and have found that it is very user friendly, allows for the features and functionality that our employees want, and also is continually growing and enhnancing to meet future needs.

**What do you like best about Unily?**

I love that Unily is constantly improving their platform and rolling out new features based on user feedback. There are so many great features, widgets, and integrations with other tools/software. They also have a fantastic learning site, Universe, with guides and resources for pretty much everything you'd need - as well as options to comment, ask follow up questions, and make suggestions for future developments. I find Unily very easy to use once you have had some basic training, and the Unily team is excellent if you run into any questions or need support.

**What do you dislike about Unily?**

I wish that Unily had an option to hire contractors who were Unily experts and could help us audit and improve our intranet. Other than that, I can't think of anything!

**What problems is Unily solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest problem that Unily is solving is "information overload." Before adopting Unily for our intranet vendor, we still sent out most of our employee communications via email. Since adoption, we have reshaped our approach and now have much clearer guidelines for what information should live where. Our employees are happier that they aren't getting bombarded over email, and they know where they can go to find information on general company updates and highlights, department sites, and more.

Our experience with Unily has been great. Teresa is a fantastic account manager. She answers or directs our questions in a timely manner, suggests functions/widgets that we could add to our site to increase engagement, and supports our goals. We were particularly pleased with the targeting and theming capabilities as we adjusted the site for an acquisition. Two thumbs up.

I haven't come across anything major. The only thing I can think of is that there is so much functionality, the back end can be a bit confusing until you get into your routine of posting content.

The best part about Unily is the support we get from our Customer Success Manager. We have formal monthly check-ins where we discuss the performance of our platform, brainstorm how to improve and explore new functionalities. Beyond the monthly check-in, our CSM is only one email/call away and is always willing to help us.

The analytics could be better. Everything is manual, so having the option for automated reporting would be extremely helpful!

The only software on which we can rely for instant  messaging professionally.  The interaction of this software is too good and there are no lags or connectivity problem at all.

If the pricing is a bit lower then it will be easier to have on each system.  Pricing is high, which is the only thing I didn't like.

When it comes to maintaining effective communication with the entire work team, Unily is the best option. We liked that the company offered a CMS product that was supposed to easily connect with Sharepoint and other Microsoft applications. 

**What do you dislike about Unily?**

Our CMS has been extremely unreliable. We have had several issues take weeks to figure out. Unily does not appear to have the expertise in syncing with Sharepoint. Other seemingly simple issues -- regarding functionality that the site is supposed to have -- often take weeks to resolve. As a smaller company, we wondered if perhaps the problems we experienced with their product were prioritized behind larger clients. We delayed our launch for two months due to technical issues with Unily, and we feel the issues could have been resolved much more quickly if we were a priority.

I'd be very hesitant to use this company.

Now that our site is finally live, we are able to share the company intranet with all employees. We are already finding it to be a fun and helpful communication tool. When it works, that is.

It's so easy to use, from the point of view of a front end user; a really intuitive platform. 
There's a multitude of easy to use (and move) widgets to create really engaging pages. 
The apps & tools area ensures that employees go to the intranet first to find their other applications. 
Powerful search functionality. 

**What do you dislike about Unily?**

Metadata - the platform relies on this for drop down lists and tagging content, so I spent days creating lists.changes need to be done manually. These don't automatically sort alphabetically so this has to be done manually, which is time consuming.

Improves collaboration and communication in an organization through a large platform .makes it easier to transfer information and handles a large volume of people .
