As a finance resource, I use Unanet ERP daily

-Unanet's project tracking is the biggest win. The flow of transactions from estimate to invoice without any manual transfer of data is easy to read and understand and saves a lot of time.

-Timesheet filing through mobile is an advantage. People do it from their phone wherever they are and this transcends to timely invoicing.

-Unanet support has been a solid help. They respond timely and stick around till the problem is fixed.

-We have different complicated billing setups with different clients, and Unanet handles all of it without needing workarounds. Different rate schedule and separate invoice format to match what has been agreed with the client etc., works the way we need it to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

-The Unanet AE interface feels outdated.

-Some functions are slower than they should be. Like switching from reports or between modules sometimes take longer than you would expect.

I like the flexibility and cloud capabilities of Unanet AE ERP. Custom reports are pretty easy to write, and setting up reports to remind us of deadlines when multiple projects are going is very helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Some basic accounting reports don't have drill downs to detail unless we write our own reports. Some reports create windows that close if you don't hit the back arrow. Some windows have important data that's hard to find. Links to some information centers are non-existent, like Client and Contacts links are missing. Accounts receivable (unpaid invoices) should be a tab on the project file. The initial setup was not easy; many items in the conversion made no sense, like Cash Basis entries, and many documents did not convert from Vision Document Management to Unanet Documents. Unanet needs to have one platform – cloud based. Having some things updated in one platform and not the other (budgeting for instance had to be enhanced to be the same) is frustrating.

Resource planning is clunky and not user friendly for high level planning. Our PM’s will continue to use excel until the system is more user friendly (ie can add in multiple ODC items that represent different budgeted items – right now they have to all be combined in 1 line item), also being able to have a comments section next to a labor or ODC item for planning / budgeting purposes would be super helpful, and being able to list out the same class of staff (ie senior scientist) for the same phase is truly a budgeting must have because often a phase needs 80 hours in a week by 2 senior scientists and as the system is now I have to enter one line of a senior scientist for 80 hours which for resource planning isn’t accurate).

Also, several small requests have been made for a while now that just keep getting kicked aside because I guess they aren’t AI or cool enough. They are as follows: 1. Add a 3rd box in PA Bill Review for permanent notes. Currently there is an Invoicing box for the invoice and a second box for PM Instructions to biller that clears out when the G/L period rolls over for the next month's comments. Please just add a stationary box so we can put comments in like “Invoice the 26th of each month.”

The other comments I have heard are that every time someone wants to move a transaction in PA review, we have to click the button to move TX, then select Project Code bc it always defaults to project name (when moving transactions you almost always have to use the code). It either needs to have Project Code as the default or allow the user to select a default that will stay. Also when reviewing an automated invoice, EVERY TIME I open the document to view it I have to change it to whole page bc the default leaves it reduced in size and the pop-out not full page. Nobody can read it that way. It’s the small fixes that don’t get done that make me not like it. User useability experience should be as important as new abilities and functions. This is also true of setting set in the desktop that don't translate to the web based platform.

Also it would be nice if invoice templates were easy to build and alter and a separate consultant OAS module and training wasn't necessary. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The migration team has been helpful and very thorough in assisting my company with transitioning to Unanet AE ERP. They laid out a detailed transition plan from the start and have walked us through each phase of the transition. Overall, it has been a very smooth process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

For heavy users, it's annoying to have to switch between the desktop and web versions to access certain features. I wish they mimicked each other and had the same features available. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Unanet is designed with features uniquely tailored to the needs of professional services firms in the A&E space. Customer support is extremely responsive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Unanet struggles to anticipate the needs of the end users. I frequently submit feedback to Unanet about why newly launched functionality does not meet our needs in Accounting and Finance. Customer support frequently is unable to resolve issues raised in a timely manner. When Unanet's AP automation features are not meeting our expectations, we don't have an alternative to consider because Unanet doesn't interface to Bill.com or the big fintech companies who are automating Accounting. Reports can not be easily manipulated to get the results wanted. Billing templates are limited. A/P reports are stock and can't get like unpaid consultants by project on AP and reports and can't increase font or zoom on the software Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Unanet has a variety of ways to use it, including web access, desktop application, and a mobile app. The modern UI is simple, clean, and easy to use, which is a priority with a user based experience. Unanet was very easy to switch to from my previous software, and I use it pretty much every day. Additionally the support team is quick to respond to emails from my experience, and generally it's been easy to integrate to Unanet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Considering how little time I've spent with Unanet at this point, this should be taken lightly, but the only downside I've experienced so far is that I cannot create my own timesheets, my HR team has to do that for me, but that's mostly a personal issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There are SO many different aspects of the system. And when our team implemented, we only brushed the surface. It's now been so long since implementation and doing it the "basic" way that as we try to bring in more complexity, it's a challenge of changing processes for the team.
