Top Rated Ulysses Alternatives

I’ve used Ulysses off and on for over five years. I prefer it over applications like Word, Pages, and TextEdit. I like that Ulysses allows me to keep documents inside the application, which means I can work on longer projects and manage parts and chapters as separate "sheets" rather than one long file. I also especially like "Typewriter Mode" which keeps the text in the middle of the file so that I don't have to look or scroll down to keep typing. It's also useful that there's a iOS version Ulysses which means I can read documents on my iPad and iPhone. Moreover, I like Ulysses allows me to select which documents I want to sync to iCloud and which I want to keep on my local device. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The subscription model is pricey, and there are really not useful benefits for subscribing. I get that developers need to make money for the work they do, but now they have set it up so that you can edit documents without paying the subscription fee. Would also like the ability to hide documents that I'm not using, but don't want to delete. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Good total word count feature, when you eventually found it.
Interesting grammar and spell checker. I now integrate Grammarly with it via a keyboard, which works a treat.
On the whole it's a great piece of software at a manageable price Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Somewhat bizarre access to things like total word count, though it's very good once the fog of the help system clears enough to point the way.
Not a great grammar checker, but it provides a starting point.
If it was available on Windows it would be nice to use across platforms ... sadly it's not Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Choosing software for writing is a personal choice. I have used Ulyssess before they were a subscription pricing model and continue to use them now because they offer the cleanest interface, features like writing goals, and a library that is very easy to organize and search. I still end up using Google Docs with colleagues sometimes, but would prefer to stay in Ulysses if I could, although they don't have the same level of collaboration features that Google Docs offers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love the clean interface, customizability, markdown support of the Apple ecosystem, Keyboard and Mouse support and the support to students. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is no option to save under Ulysses server, instead you have to save to the iPad, iCloud or Dropbox. This creates an inconvenience as I have to make sure that I am saving to the right place and syncing my devices to the right service. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

This software is very intuitive and has a very pleasant interface visually, it is based on the orientation of the text generators in the direction of the digital area, it does not have an extensive list of menus on the contrary you have the availability of your text manager so from your keyboard It is a very useful program that many users use for the daily use of our work. It is a very expensive program in reality, it has its free version but it does not have the same freedoms, which brings its premium version. usually presents some failures in terms of synchronization with other programs or adaptations of other text managers, this usually occurs very little since most tools are already compatible with this great software.
