I have been using IDM products especially Ultraedit for years now on WIndows, Mac and Linux. It has been my go to editor (and more) since the beginning. I have used it for reading and formatting files, comparing data, etc, etc. The sky seems to be the limit. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
None. The IDM folks and their products are the BEST; par none. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
An editor that I can use on any development project. It is fast and has every feature I need. When I am developing I can jump to any solution I need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing UltraEdit does everything I need it to and it is easy to use and has the feature and funtions I need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I started using UltraEdit 20ish years ago when I was managing EDI files. UltraEdit made it easy to work with and validate fixed width files. It is very fast to start up and use. It's intuitive and continually improves. I use it today to look at and edit everything from JSON and XML files to JavaScript. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only thing that comes to mind as far as dislike, is that there is a full suite of tools and sometimes I am unsure why I should use UltraEdit vs UltraStudio. I would really like all of the tools to be together. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
UltraEdit is fast, powerful, intuitive, and necessary to troubleshoot problems with data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is nothing to criticize with UltraEdit, and I am working with a five-year-old version! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have been using Ultra-Edit for over 20 years. It is, without a doubt the, most adaptable, reliable text editor EVER. When I first started, I found its simplicity and intuitive nature to be what I liked best. Still, now with the myriad of coding choices appearing almost daily, it is nice to know that the one tool I rely upon embraces the chaos of the impossibly dynamic game of syntax. There have been many, MANY, additional features added to the tool over the years. While I am sure SOME developers need these features, but for a simple developer like myself, It can slow down access to the elegant simplicity on which I rely. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The editor does not lose the data and windows even if it is closed, and you can continue working where you left off. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I'm not too fond of the fact that programs disappear from the suite and that the newly added programs are only activated for us through a subsequent purchase. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
After working with UltraEdit, I found it's intuitive and easy to Use Text editors compared with Others in the market.
The "column editing" feature is the best I like about UltraEdit.
Also, It regularly gives updates, and sometimes, they are beneficial. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I've not found any significant issues with Ultredit in all the years of using it, but It takes a while to open big files. Can it be a little bit faster? So that it will not take much time to load. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's lightweight and have feature to correct syntax, feedback in the language which u r using, it provides modular design, extensive customisation function as regards to layout, topic and code. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Should have community to do discussion. Like eclipse, atom and sublime has. Also price is a big turn off. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Top editor. Able to handle all basic text formats. Large files. Replace in files etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Compare is not part of it. Other than that I miss a few items on the menu. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is both simply a text editor while at the same time being one of the most powerful and feature-filled text and data tools.
It keeps getting better.
Powerful integrated capabilities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing, having used it since the mid-1990s Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
