I like the split screen option (2 or more files open side by side).
The wealth of features and options and all the ways the editor can be customized is great.
Handling extremely large files is amazingly fast. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I tried to use the "projects" features a few times, but I could never quite understand how to use it. I guess it can't be too hard once I really try to discover how it works if I ever feel the need to do so. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The speed. We need to deals with 4B file with lot number of fields in a row. Before purchasing the ultraedit , we were splitting the file into small chunks and verifying the data. But after Ultraedit our productivity incresed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Didn't find one yet . This is really worh money. I would reccommend this to everyone. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I work with a lot of data and sqr's and Ultra Edit allows me to easily find the error from log files, modify flat file data and especially search for lines of code within a folder. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wish it had a highlighting tool so that I could highlight lines of similar code as an example Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
UltraEdit deftly handles different character encoding and line endings from files across platforms. The syntax highlighting is excellent, and supports all the different programming languages I use at work. Column editing mode, and multiple cursor mode, are unique and powerful ways to edit blocky code. Packed with convenience features I frequently use, such as convert selection to uppercase or lowercase, and display character properties. Another awesome feature is fine / replace in files. UltraEdit takes about 2 to 3 seconds to load after launch. Not bad, though I wish it was faster. Also, occassionally it will not open, and I have to CTRL-ALT-DEL and find it in my task manager to end an invisible instance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Easy to use and very comprehensive tools. I only use UltraEdit for all my work. It has everything you need as a developer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing! I have never had an issue with UltraEdit. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Over fifteen years ago, when I was just starting my career, I found out about UltraEdit. I had been looking for something that easily functioned in Column Mode. It does, and it has so many other features I have been relying upon for fifteen years. I purchased an unlimited license (it hurt early on) and I still don't regret it. Also, it blows away all the other Mac text editors out there (I know because I tried them before UE was on a Mac). It's one of the pieces of software that I have to have for work and play. And it's been functioning consistently for me (if not improving) the entire time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I really can't think of something I dislike about UltraEdit...it's just so reliable and customizable I don't think I've ever crashed it (maybe user error by opening too many files). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
UltraEdit enables to edit text in different languages recognized by multiple compilers and coding IDEs Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It comes in a dark mode by default, so the readability of the text is a bit difficult Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I used Ultraedit to write HTML and Javascript codes. The syntax highlighting is great, and it supports various programming languages. Column editing mode and multiple cursor mode are one of the best features of UltraEdit. Best among a plethora of text editors available on MAC. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Can't think of any. It takes time to load, but I believe it is due to my computer. Other than that, I have never experienced any issues with UltraEdit. It is highly customizable, so there are no problems with that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
