I have been using ubuntu OS from last 3 years as a developer and what I liked best about ubuntu are given below:

Ubuntu is free to download and use, and is open source, which means it is free to use, modify, and distribute. Which gives transparency and freedom.

Ubuntu also comes with long-term support, which gives support and updates for upto 5 years.

To keep the system secure from vulnerabilities, patches and upgrades are often given.

**What do you dislike about Ubuntu?**

Although the Ubuntu Software Center has a large number of softwares, but it still fall short and is slow infront of Windows and macOS software store.

Despite Ubuntu's good and user-friendly UI, people who comes from other OS may find it challenging to use terminal commands and other Linux-specific details.

It is very easy to integrate with other applications like Nginx, apache2, supervisor, and more. Ubuntu community also provides customer support for troubleshooting.

**What do you dislike about Ubuntu?**

I did not find any dislike in the Ubuntu OS.

**What problems is Ubuntu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main problem Ubuntu is solving is that I don't have to purchase any license for this Operating system just like windows and it also gives full privileges to configure and modify it as per my requirements.

  ### 12. Light, free, the development environment for everyone

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mahnoor A. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 05, 2023

**What do you like best about Ubuntu?**

Its UI has been made accessible and friendlier over the years with smooth transitions and feel thanks to GNOME. It is the most accessible and easiest environment to get into Linux with. The themes and customization options are quite broad. Its ISO and system load is lighter on the hardware than Windows flavors are and customization options are even broader by utilizing the BASH and CLIs. Many software tools have support for its distributions, so I can setup development SDKs of even lesser-known packages with more ease than I can on Windows or MacOS.

**What do you dislike about Ubuntu?**

The CLI and the overall reliance on Bash commands and modules to fix certain things about your OS, from drivers to orientation to UI, make things more compicated than Windows. Despite its UI offering a lot more than it used to, the settings are still limited in what you see compared to what you don't know you can do with the terminal. When I install packages, using apt or apt-get, it can be hard to completely remove them when dependencies get installed. I need to scrutinize what other packages got shipped with it that were not removed because the system still thinks I need them.

**What problems is Ubuntu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All my development work is done on Ubuntu, because most software tools contain installation instructions tailored to Ubuntu (that they might not for even MacOS or Windows). The UI also distracts me a lot less as compared to Windows. There are some packages that work only on a Linux-based environment, and there are less complications in setting them up here than on Kali or Bodhi Linux. It also comes with several commonly-used packages on its install, like gcc, git and openssl, hence, every time I do a fresh installation, I do not have to set these up myself.

  ### 13. Ubuntu the Best server

**What do you dislike about Ubuntu?**

Just some colors are missing from the server. Most of them are black and white it will be good if the UI is more interactive.

**What problems is Ubuntu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ubuntu solves the problem of having diffrent things in other operating systems. It rpovides basic and simple commands to execute and run our programs. That saves a lot of time as well as the time complexity.
