## Typo Reviews
  ### 1. Smart Code Reviews and Analytics, But Slow Scanning

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sachin J. | Director of Engineering, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 04, 2025

**What do you like best about Typo?**

1. It provides Automated, LLM-powered code reviews that catch issues (like bugs, security flaws, and typos—hence the name) earlier in the process.

2. It suggests fixes, potentially with "one-click fixing," allowing developers to resolve issues directly within Bitbucket.

3. It connects data across the Software Delivery Lifecycle (Git, Jira, CI/CD) to give real-time visibility into key metrics like DORA metrics, PR flow, bottlenecks, and sprint efficiency.

the best features of Typo would be its ability to provide intelligent, automated code quality checks directly in your pull request workflow and its function as a unified analytics platform to measure and improve your team's overall delivery speed and efficiency.

**What do you dislike about Typo?**

1. Take so much time to scan the repo and give the clearance.
2. There is a reported need for more customization options in both the metrics dashboard and the reporting features. Current offerings can sometimes feel limited for teams with unique workflows or complex needs.
3. Certain reports are perceived as too high-level for individual teams, making it difficult for team leads or engineers to derive actionable insights specific to their day-to-day work.
4. A specific dislike mentioned is the absence of a mobile app, which limits accessibility and real-time tracking for users on the go.
5. The AI may flag certain security issues as low-risk, requiring manual filtering by the development team to ensure attention is focused only on immediate threats.

**What problems is Typo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Typo addresses several key pain points in the SDLc and team management:

1. Lack of Real-time SDLC Visibility: Teams struggle to see where work is getting stuck (bottlenecks) and accurately predict delivery timelines, leading to missed deadlines and unpredictable releases.

2.Inefficient and Slow Code Reviews: Human-only code reviews are slow, inconsistent, and often miss critical issues, leading to technical debt and slower deployment cycles.

3.It's difficult to quantify and address issues that lead to developer frustration, low morale, and potential burnout risk (e.g., excessive review load, lack of focus time).

4. Engineering leaders often lack clear, data-backed insight into how development time is being allocated
5.: Difficulty in collecting, unifying, and calculating standardized metrics like DORA metrics (Deployment Frequency, Lead Time for Changes, etc.) across disparate tools (Git, Jira, CI/CD).

  ### 2. Intuitive Tool with Powerful Analytics and Seamless GitHub Integration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eduardo V. | Product Operations Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Typo?**

Typo is a very intuitive tool with a huge variety of analyses available. The direct connection to GitHub greatly facilitated the initial implementation of the tool in our engineering team. The data provided has helped us make recurring improvement decisions based on DORA Metrics and other indicators that we selected for a BETA.

**What do you dislike about Typo?**

In some metrics, I had difficulty understanding, through the software, what thresholds were used to categorize each metric. Later I saw that the tool's documentation is very helpful in providing this information, but I believe it could be more easily accessible.

**What problems is Typo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Typo has helped us increase the efficiency and productivity of our teams through recurring monitoring. We define key monitoring metrics based on our company and are always looking to evolve WoW and MoM.

  ### 3. Outstanding Metrics and Insights for Code Quality

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amarjeet . | Sr. Engineering Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 17, 2025

**What do you like best about Typo?**

What I appreciate most are the Metrics, Insights, and Code Quality features.

**What do you dislike about Typo?**

The work log feature would benefit from enhancements that allow it to extract more detailed information from the JIRA board and directly compare this data with the commits. Such improvements would greatly simplify tracking progress and help ensure consistency throughout the process.

**What problems is Typo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Typo addresses the issues of slow and subjective code reviews, as well as the absence of objective engineering metrics such as DORA. This has helped me by speeding up our code review process, enabling features to be merged and deployed more quickly. As a result, we can dedicate our expertise to tackling complex architectural challenges rather than spending time on repetitive manual tasks.

  ### 4. Junior Dev review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gabriel A. | Junior Software Dev, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Typo?**

We use the Typo github AI to review our PRs and have typo analyse our code for security measures, code complexity, etc...

The GitHub AI does sometimes give good advice on what can be changed, more than other AIs like CodeRabbit, the bad advice tends to be due to lack of context/specific knowledge, so its understandable. And the code analysis is always helpful, especially when I was first learning Golang and needed to understand better code practices.

**What do you dislike about Typo?**

The web UI is a bit confusing, and I find it annoying that if I go to the website from my GitHub PR, I have to first login and afterwards Im taken to the Home page and not my code review.

**What problems is Typo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has helped making PR reviews faster by offering some general advice early and has helped maintain a good code base through code analysis

  ### 5. Tailored view to measure team velocity with nuances

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 15, 2024

**What do you like best about Typo?**

This took a very tedious, manual, and high error task and automated it. Now we are able to use this powerful tool for both our development teams and leadership to gain useful insights on productivity. We continue to develop features within Typo to quickly identify gaps in our efficiency to such a detailed degree, that we can now easily see which stage of the development cycle is creating bottlenecks. Highly recommend!

**What do you dislike about Typo?**

Cannot change the visuals within the application on my own.

**What problems is Typo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We cannot use the velocity/sprint tracking built into JIRA because of org nuances, so this enables us to build out a way to track team velocity without having to do it manually.

  ### 6. Best App for code review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Junaid J. | Associate Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Typo?**

What I like best about Typo is the real-time feedback it provides. It’s super motivating to see how I’m doing right away, whether I’m improving my speed or accuracy. It really helps me focus on areas where I can get better, and the instant corrections keep me engaged. Plus, the ability to adjust the difficulty means I can always challenge myself as my skills improve, which keeps things interesting and less repetitive. It feels like I’m leveling up each time I use it!

**What do you dislike about Typo?**

If I had to pick something I dislike about Typo, it would probably be the limited variety in the exercises. While the basic typing drills are effective, I sometimes wish there were more creative or diverse ways to practice—maybe something beyond the standard word or sentence typing. It could be fun to add more variety, like typing with different themes or incorporating short stories, quotes, or even game-like elements. But overall, it’s a minor thing compared to how well the app works!

**What problems is Typo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Typo is solving the problem of slow and inaccurate typing, which can be a real bottleneck when working on code PRs. By helping me improve my typing speed and precision, it’s allowing me to focus more on the actual content of the code rather than constantly worrying about typos or slowing down. This has made my workflow much faster and more efficient, saving me time and making the whole process of reviewing or writing code smoother. It's a small improvement that’s had a big impact on my productivity.

  ### 12. Easy to use with a responsive team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cesar R. | VP of Engineering, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 04, 2025

**What do you like best about Typo?**

Typo has become a go-to for keeping tabs on our engineering performance and making sure everyone’s on the same page. It plugs right into the tools we already use and gives us clear, no-nonsense insights through a dashboard that’s easy to wrap your head around. It’s great for keeping both individual engineers and the whole team accountable and aligned. Their support is a standout too. The team’s super quick to help and we even have a shared Slack channel, so getting answers is a breeze. No tool’s flawless, but Typo’s crew is on it, rolling out updates and tweaking things based on what we need. You can tell they actually care about making it work for us.

**What do you dislike about Typo?**

Being a fast-moving startup, Typo has the odd bug or glitch now and then, but nothing that’s ever stopped us in our tracks. The team’s so quick to fix things and keep improving that it more than balances out any hiccups.

**What problems is Typo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Typo tackles the issue of knowing what’s going on with our engineering team by pulling all our metrics into one simple, central dashboard. It makes it easy to set goals, spot slowdowns, and make smarter calls based on real numbers, which keeps the team more open and on track.

  ### 13. Trial turned into a successful acquisition

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yll F. | Engineering Manager - Platform, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2025

**What do you like best about Typo?**

We’ve been using Typo App for nearly two months now, primarily for DORA Metrics and Kanban board analysis to better understand our cycle times. We wanted to ensure that our data-driven approach didn’t burden our engineering team, and Typo has been a great enabler for that.

Previously, we were relying on numerous scripts and Grafana dashboards to pull DORA metrics ourselves, which was time-consuming and required constant updates. Typo changed that in a matter of minutes.

With Typo, we can now easily track and visualize our metrics, and focus on what matters most: helping the team grow and succeed.

**What do you dislike about Typo?**

Nothing specific that i can point out at this time.

**What problems is Typo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DORA Metrics and Kanban board analysis to better understand our cycle times.

My focus is on the security components of Typo, with continuous code scanning features designed to facilitate the early detection of vulnerabilities and performance bottlenecks.

  ### 15. Feature-Rich Platform

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anthony R. | Head of Technology, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Typo?**

There are many features and a wide range of functionality available, making it easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Typo?**

It took a long to to configure one aspect (code coverage) because we were using a different version of the coverage file which was very frustrating during onboarding.

**What problems is Typo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mainly use it for DORA metrics which highlight the performance of our engineering squads

  ### 16. A very helpful and insightful tool to assist in measuring developer productivity

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aaron C. | CTO, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 08, 2025

**What do you like best about Typo?**

Once you're up and running with data coming is, it's super helpful when looking into developer happiness and effectiveness metrics.
And whilst you can compare to benchmarks, it doesn't feel like the metrics are the goal (very good thing), but a tool to surface information that starts a healthy conversation, rather than being a stick to beat devs with (again, a very good thing)

**What do you dislike about Typo?**

It does take a little getting used to, and to make sure it's effective, you do need to spend the time setting it up properly.
That said, the customer support is exceptionally good (5+ stars) and made the setup process a lot easier.

**What problems is Typo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping us measure developer happiness and effectiveness, along with automating code analysis.
It's also great for engineers to be able to view their own stats to help them look for areas where they can grow too.

  ### 17. The good and the not so good of Typo

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andre H. | Senior Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 31, 2025

**What do you like best about Typo?**

Typo provides a thorough review of your code I'm using in Github, it will automatically review your code and give feedbacks.

**What do you dislike about Typo?**

Apparently sometimes the feedback lacks context especially against a specific business logic where the logic needs to be like that but typo suggested otherwise

**What problems is Typo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I love how Typo can be so nitpick-y it actually helps me improve my code, like how I can be more efficient with my code compared to the code i write

  ### 18. Excellent Context Awareness and Security Insights in PR Reviews

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Devendra P. | Lead Data Scientist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2025

**What do you like best about Typo?**

Try to understand the context of the changes in PR very well and highlight only most relevant changes and security concerns.

**What do you dislike about Typo?**

If we can get the comments too in the PR so that while reviewing PR we can quickly check the suggestions.

**What problems is Typo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. Identify potential security vulnerabilities
2. Detect code paths that could lead to crashes
3. Enforce consistent coding standards and syntax

  ### 19. Typo App: Boosting SDLC Efficiency

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2024

**What do you like best about Typo?**

I've been really impressed with Typo. Their customer support is top-notch, always responsive and helpful. They're constantly adding new features, which shows they're committed to improving the platform.

Overall, Typo is a powerful tool that provides valuable insights into our software delivery process. The combination of their excellent customer service, regular feature updates, and insightful data, even with some integration hiccups, makes it a valuable asset for any development team.

Typo also highlights inefficiencies within the connected services themselves. This has been valuable for our team, as it's helped us identify areas where we can improve our overall workflows.

**What do you dislike about Typo?**

While Typo shows a lot of promise, but some features feel a bit rough around the edges. It's understandable for a new app, and I appreciate their swiftness in addressing issues and adding new features. Hopefully, with continued development, the app will become even more polished and user-friendly.

**What problems is Typo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Identifying inefficiencies, Improving code quality, Streamlining workflows

  ### 20. Optimizing PR Lifecycle with typoapp.io

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ivan M. | Senior Software Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Typo?**

Benchmarks on Pull Request and Teams section give us overview of bottlenecks in pickup, review, and merge stages across the squad and on personal level.

**What do you dislike about Typo?**

With dozens of available metrics and benchmarks, it isn’t clear which deserve the most attention. Ideally, a customizable dashboard would let each company spotlight and configure the specific metrics and benchmarks that matter most to its own needs.
One thing that looks like not currently supported is pair programming: dashboards consider only single developers way of work.

**What problems is Typo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solves oversized PRs, eliminates review pickup delays, flags high-risk PRs ,benchmarks team metrics—drives continuous improvement.
Shows end-to-end cycle times—enables better planning.
Visualizes personal worklog—helps to prioritize.
Keeps all Insights confidential—builds trust and candid feedback.

  ### 21. Great for Development Analysis, But Needs Maturity

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 26, 2025

**What do you like best about Typo?**

Development cycle analysis is mostly useful.

**What do you dislike about Typo?**

Product is still not mature enough and it has a lot of quirks.

**What problems is Typo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Time spent in each development stages can be observed. Static type analysis is somehow useful, but it has a lot of false positives that are not easy to remove, or fix.

  ### 22. Stop your search for a DORA metrics tool, typo is the one you're looking for 😉🚀

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Roberto T. | Chief Technology Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Typo?**

It has plenty of tools that allow me to better understand my team performance, without going deep into many insights that could confuse me.

Before Typo, I had to crush data which took me a long time and deviated me from my management role. With Typo, there are only a few clicks and voilà, I have all the information I need from each of my Engineers, how the teams are behaving, what to do to fix/resolve slumps we might have, bugs within code and level up the team to be at our highest level possible.

Features like benchmarks within each insight help me visually to better understand where we are, Code Health also helps us understand much better the issues ( Bugs ) we have, the ones that aren't based on the best practices, and the ones we got wrong. Slack's integration allows me to watch when a PR or merge has been done without getting into Typo to find out about it.

**What do you dislike about Typo?**

If you are a preseed/bootstrapped startup Typo's pricing ain't for you.

**What problems is Typo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mainly how my Engineering teams are working, if they are having performance threshold I required them to be or not. If they are following our best practices guidelines, if they are deviating from it, Typo helps me to let them know in our 1:1s what they should be doing and what shouldn't they do.

  ### 23. Seamless Migration and Exceptional Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thamsanqa M. | Chief Technology Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 25, 2025

**What do you like best about Typo?**

We migrated and onboarded to Typo in no time, replacing our previous, more expensive tools without missing a beat. The developer surveys generate truly actionable insights—helping us pinpoint exactly what to fix next. I’m also a big fan of the AI-powered comments on pull requests, which streamline our code reviews. Beyond the product itself, the Typo team is exceptionally responsive on Slack, happily handling bespoke requests—like building a custom cycle-time calculation on their backend to fit our exact workflow. All in all, Typo has delivered huge efficiency gains and real ROI for our engineering team.

**What do you dislike about Typo?**

Honestly, nothing — Typo has exceeded our expectations at every turn, and we have no regrets switching over.

**What problems is Typo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Typo has transformed our engineering workflow by providing insights that have halved our cycle time, reduced critical bugs by 70%, and delivered end-to-end visibility through developer surveys and dashboards.

  ### 24. Great assistive tool for review and overall insights into your repository

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Typo?**

Best thing is it captures the code health on each PR and specially the Cognitive Complexity in code which we often ignore. It helps in simplifying the code and always helps in finding obvious errors.

**What do you dislike about Typo?**

I don't see any downsides of using Typo but definitely some improvements needs to be there.

**What problems is Typo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is helping in scanning PRs for any issues related to linting and not just simple lint checks but also checks for code complexity to a great extent. It also provides insights about all the github activities and presents a good report about each developer contribution, time taken on each PR, time taken to review each PR etc.

  ### 25. A product backed by a "can-do" attitude

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James N. | Engineering Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2025

**What do you like best about Typo?**

Typo is simple to use and the barrier to entry is very low. With explanations of what metrics mean embedded inside the platform, even junior engineers with no prior experience of KPI's or DORA metrics can learn to about them very quickly. Reports are clear, setup, and onboarding is easy.

Customer support is excellent with our Account Manager very quick to respond and go the extra mile for us at times when needed.

**What do you dislike about Typo?**

No native DataDog integration at present. Workarounds are available (webhook send from DataDog to a typo endpoint) but require more effort than would be needed with a proper integration in place.

**What problems is Typo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Highlights ineffeciencies in teams and helps cut through "opinion" with data and graphs to hand,
Code Quality is a great tool for proactively spotting vulnerabilities too.

  ### 26. Effortless Team Progress Tracking at a Glance

Team progress and status can be easly tracked in a glance

**What do you dislike about Typo?**

nothing as such in particular which goes into dislike

**What problems is Typo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Understanding which team member is lacking in which area

  ### 27. Developer metrics made easy!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rudhir P. | VP of Engineering, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2025

**What do you like best about Typo?**

Value for money product. Very responsive team. Allows for custom reporting. Enables developers to self-manage a lot more of their own work performance instead of being told by someone else. It allows them to course correct. Whilst many vendors in this segment and often organization may be tempted to DIY dashboard, the value offering from Typo enables teams to focus on building what matter more than building & maintaining a metrics dashboard. The industry benchmarks are useful assess performance across the sector (even if just a guideline).

**What do you dislike about Typo?**

No DIY custom reports, needed Typo to create it.

**What problems is Typo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DIY developer assessments. Developers can course correct their performance themselves.

  ### 28. Typo is good, it helps to avoid getting unused and complex code into codebase.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Typo?**

i like how it identifies a block of code as complex block.

**What do you dislike about Typo?**

  ### 30. DORA Metrics, Engineering Performance, and More!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Danny L. | Vice President of Engineering, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Typo?**

In my role - the best part of Typo is it's easy to understand expression of Git Metrics. They are good enough that I'm able to directly use them with my leadership, and they're able to get a week-to-week pulse of how the engineering team is performing. Similarly, I review these metrics in a little more detail to help coach up some engineers, teams, and leaders.

For my team - they use it as team leads and individual contributors to get an understanding of how they work has been flowing. Admittedly, we could be doing better here, but Typo gives us all the data we need.

Rolling this out was pretty easy - mostly was three steps: (1) hooking up Github, (2) Configuring Typo to match our workflow, and (3) Meeting with their customer success team to go over any questions I had. I've had a few interactions with that team, and have been impressed with the speed of service and how knowledgable the team is.

**What do you dislike about Typo?**

I haven't really found much that I dislike - there are some philosophical limitations that might catch some off-guard, like:
1. Metric calculation cannot be instantaneous on configuration change, as there is often a lot of history to recompute
2. Pure Git and Jira metrics are not going to measure team success directly. It's a great, necessary, tool to have under your belt - but you're never going to know if your having good "outcomes" from a tool like this
3. I've had relatively minor bugs that I've reported (but as with any great team, these were solved quickly)

**What problems is Typo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing, reporting on, and coaching software engineers

The customer support is also great, very responsive and helpful, which makes integration very easy as well.

  ### 43. Amazing tool that works instantly and provides valuable data

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex M. | Director of Technology, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Typo?**

Literally took a minute to set up and worked seamlessly.
Instantly helped me inspect metrics about my engineering team that no other tool on the market managed to assemble and present.
I now consult my Typo dashboard everyday. Even the free features offer valuable insight.
Has a free tier for small teams.

**What do you dislike about Typo?**

The code smell features don't behave too well with our team's type of development.
The core features are definitely built for bigger teams and SaaS/live-ops projects, which isn't always the case.
The pricing is pretty steep for a development analytics tool (higher cost per dev than our cloud SCM and wiki platforms combined) but the free tier is sufficient for me atm.

**What problems is Typo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PR metrics & general development overview
DORA metrics

  ### 44. Streamlining Code Quality

Static Code Analysis: The tooling for static code analysis is outstanding, allowing us to quickly detect code smells, vulnerabilities, and performance issues, which significantly improves our overall code quality.

**What do you dislike about Typo?**

False Positives in Static Code Analysis: One notable downside is that many of the static code analysis issues reported are false positives. This can lead to unnecessary confusion and extra work for the team as we sift through the alerts to identify genuine concerns.

**What problems is Typo solving and how is that benefiting you?**
