I use Typinator to add the date to my emails, greetings and sign-offs just with a few keystrokes instead of typing the whole thing. It also helps me add my signature to documents and insert smiley faces without going to the emoji menu. One feature I enjoy is that Typinator corrects when I accidentally have two capitals at the beginning of a word, which happens if I forget to release the shift key quickly enough. This feature saves me from having to go back and retype the second letter in lowercase. I realize there's a lot more I could do with Typinator just by looking through all those set lists. I struggled with transferring Typinator to a new computer. I couldn't get it to work when I copied the files over. It was very difficult to disconnect Typinator from the old computer. I use Typinator for both personal and professional purposes as an editor and copyeditor. I appreciate how it provides accuracy, consistency, and saves me a lot of time. I love the clean look, speed, and the very responsive iOS/iPadOS keyboard. I'm a big fan of assigning prefixes to sets, which was important to me when I migrated from my previous text expansion tool, and it works very well. The excellent import feature impressed me since it allowed me to bring in my previous snippets instead of starting from scratch. I like that Typinator is available across most of my apps. The iCloud syncing mechanism works very well, and it's nice having everything the same on all my devices. Typinator is definitely a tool I would recommend to my friends. I think having a "All Except" option when you decide on which applications work with which set would be useful. In my case, I don't want the Character Pairs set to be active on the command line (Terminal.app) so having a "All Except Terminal" just for that set would be good. I find Typinator to be a big time saver, especially for filling out forms and entering my email address. It's also quite handy for fixing typos. I think the challenge sometimes is that you don't remember that you have a shortcut for it, and sometimes it would be interesting to see a little help menu. I know you can do the find or search for your abbreviations, but sometimes you just miss that. Or it could suggest that you've selected something in the clipboard, then it could be edited as a Typinator action. I don't like the Apple subscription model. I think it's too pricey for something that the product offers. I was a little bit disappointed when I bought version nine that very quickly afterwards version 10 came out, and then now they were asking again for a subscription price. I don't like being hold hostage, always having to renew. I prefer buying once, but also kinda being offered to update when I want. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I have been using Typinator almost as long as the program has been available. It has continued to serve me well. Updates and new features are released in a timely manner, but not so often as to be annoying. I love how Typinator speeds up my typing by handling redundant writing. It has definitely made my life easier by reducing the need to constantly copy and paste or type out repetitive content.
