Some sitters use this site to get paid to travel, I'm not sure how I feel about that, it's not so much of a dislike on my part, maybe its jealousy? lol I guess for someone retired or who works remotely this could be a way to earn $ sitting while you are also working remotely or vacationing as well Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I don't feel the gig workers have as many background checks as it may seem. I spoke with a few, and it would seem as though most would fluff their experience or not understand fully why they would consider themselves an expert. Like one person said, "I love animals." I love animals too, but that doesn't mean I know how to take care of each breeds' specific needs and what not. I'm also not a massive fan of the monthly cost. I am SO glad someone came up with Trusted Housesitter. I always wondered when someone would come up with a brilliant solution to such a common issue! I've had 2 housesitters, all of which were amazing. The app is straightforward to use, straight forward, and overall has a great system in place to look for trusted people to watch my pets and home. I wish you could set up multiple listings (ie: I have 2 homes, a vacation home, and a permanent home), or even when I bought a new house, I wanted to keep the old listing in another city and set up another property without a new account. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like that you can find a good sitter at any time of the day, no matter if it is day or night. I have used this service before and I trust almost everyone on this app with my pets. I don't like how Almost anybody can become a sitter because I feel like it is important that some people do not become sitters only because of their past. TrustedHousesitter links qualified sitters with people who are looking for sitters. It's a win-win for both sides. The sitter gets to stay in a place without paying for the cost of lodging, and whoever looks for sitters have a convenient way of hunting for sitters without paying for exorbitant fees. I love the variety of locations you can choose from as a housesitter. As someone who loves to travel, it's been fun for me to house sit in places that are fun and new to me. I used the site as a house sitter. I love that I can apply for sits and meet pet owners around the world. The community is generally very friendly and willing to help ensure you have a great stay while caring for their animals. Since the services are free for both parties (besides the fee to use the site), I find that everyone is very generous and kind and not micro-managing. The team behind the site is also very involved in making sure that the site is safe and that any issues are fixed (e.g. they offer insurance to cover the cost of accommodation in the event of a cancelled sits, or in the event that anything of value is broken) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I did have one bad housesit experience and unfortunately, the site has a reputation where everyone gives the sit a 5-star review or NO review. You will not find any 3-star reviews. As a consequence, it can be hard to gauge if a housesit is a good fit. I ended up doing a sit where the woman wanted to stay a few days after I arrived to make sure I walked the dogs properly (which included a morning walk, a 2-hour mid-day hike, and an evening walk). She also told me not to leave the dogs alone for any amount of time (which makes sightseeing an impossibility). The level of care she was expecting was above what we had discussed in the call.
