I like the simplicity of Kashoo and its robust features, along with the much lower price tag. ### 2. Great integrations. Getting answers/solutions is a breeze with the chat feature. Moving to this platform from Quickbooks was a great decision. **What do you dislike about TrulySmall Accounting?** There are a couple bugs, but nothing major. **Recommendations to others considering TrulySmall Accounting:** Not a lot of bells and whistles, but if you're working on a clear and simple solution, this is the way to go. **What problems is TrulySmall Accounting solving and how is that benefiting you?** I needed an easy way to track expenses/income that integrated with my bank account. My favorite feature is the ability to use the app on my phone or iPad when visiting a client and I need to create or email an invoice on the spot. **What do you dislike about TrulySmall Accounting?** I've not really had any bad experience with Kashoo. Their service is stellar. **Recommendations to others considering TrulySmall Accounting:** You get a lot for the price, and it's very intuitive to use, even for someone who doesn't like bookkeeping. **What problems is TrulySmall Accounting solving and how is that benefiting you?** The greatest thing about Kashoo is the time saved with repeating transactions. I can literally do my billing in 5 minutes a month. Since bookkeeping is not my cup of tea, this is a godsend for me. ;) ### 4. Also, I had some issues with the bank not syncing, but I'm not sure if that is an issue with Kashoo or their third party service. **Recommendations to others considering TrulySmall Accounting:** Try it out and see if you like it. **What problems is TrulySmall Accounting solving and how is that benefiting you?** I previously used a program that just showed me profit and loss, but didn't have any of the advance reporting that Kashoo provide. I am in the process of moving my accounting to Kashoo, but I am pretty happy with it so far. ### 5. Linking to bank accounts has been smooth and reconciliation process is straightforward. It has all the basic reports required for year-end accountants to compile our Financial Statements. **What do you dislike about TrulySmall Accounting?** Some of the search functions are very limited - unable to filter transactions in a given account by date, unable to dig into details of an expense account in a specific project. You can generate an income statement for a particular project, but you cannot click on an expense line item in that report and see only the expense transactions tagged with that project. I don't love the way the side bar is divided by "Income & expenses", "Invoices" and "Bills". Invoices are income and Bills are expenses - I don't see why they'd be split in that way and I often click on "Income" wanting to enter an invoice, but that is not an option. **Recommendations to others considering TrulySmall Accounting:** If you are hoping for high-level, complex accounting features and detailed reporting, Kashoo does not quite meet the level of other, bigger-named softwares on the market. However, if you are hoping for a simple, low-barrier, user-friendly software to track your company's transactions and generate simple reporting, Kashoo will work just fine! **What problems is TrulySmall Accounting solving and how is that benefiting you?** Kashoo offers a user-friendly, simplified bookkeeping software which allows people on our team without a great depth of financial knowledge to also use the software. It is easier to learn than some of the bigger-name softwares, which lowers the barriers to entry for new users. ### 6. Is nominally available to use on the fly (online only, not available, sadly, offline), but website use on phone is slow and difficult in typing in entries on an Android phone. **What do you dislike about TrulySmall Accounting?** 1.) Overall awkwardness --- for example in typing in accounts (no auto-recognize and auto-fill), dates, and lack of memory, eg. projects associated with accounts, etc 2.) Limitations on accounts and sub-accounts 3.) Lack of Android app --- compounded by a website version which does not scale to mobile devices, and hence makes using on my phone ridiculously annoying. * There are more things, but these would be my top ones. Lack of ability to use off-line could play in, but not horrible. **Recommendations to others considering TrulySmall Accounting:** I cannot speak to the Apple environment. Do not bother if using Android. Works adequately on desktop, but no autofill, annoying date fill, requires continuous attention to "tab" keying or entering in order to not lose work. Save and Back keys are important and work well. I have since found a wonderful Android app for basic accounting ---- double entry also and works wonderfully with Android. Very quick, quite pretty as an extra benefit. **What problems is TrulySmall Accounting solving and how is that benefiting you?** Coming from a desktop only bookkeeping system, I was looking for something I could use on the fly in real time --- entering receipts, etc. Kashoo is online. However, as mentioned above, using the website is laborious on an Android phone. ### 7. You can integrate payroll and other accounts easily.
