We are constantly setting up new processes, and forgetting to put someone on a project and they are not able to access The processes bounce back and forth with multiple versions and you can only cancel if you were the originator. **Recommendations to others considering Trimble Unity Construct:** Make sure you have someone who can code and can dedicate time to helping people. We have been using it for almost a year and still have daily issues we need help with. **What problems is Trimble Unity Construct solving and how is that benefiting you?** It's helped us keep our teams focused on just their projects, and has helped us set up standardized methods of doing things. It is easy to do Weekly Reports and see the progress that has been made on a project. ### 2. This software covers all the bases from documentation to project closeout as needed for a construction project. **What do you dislike about Trimble Unity Construct?** Nothing to dislike from my end for this software except for the fact that it sometimes lags while switching between different tabs for project forms. **What problems is Trimble Unity Construct solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am solving a preeminent problem of documentation which is considered secondary in a construction project. For example, their terminology throughout is unprofessional within the system. As a larger company, I expected more professional phrasing, but "Workflow in your court" is very unprofessional and very American-centered. e-Builder is an international company, so it seems like a baseline expectation to use less American sports language. **What do you dislike about Trimble Unity Construct?** You can 100% tell that e-Builder representatives get paid by how quickly they get you to sign off. They rush through testing and publish new items without clear communication. Also, most major software companies offer a testing/training environment. e-Builder does not have a training/testing environment and expects all training/testing to be completed in the production environment. In addition, when we raised questions about specific functions in the system not working, e-Builder responded that "nobody will use that function anyways." This was extremely unprofessional. If there is a part of the system that does not work, it should not be in the system, regardless of whether it is frequently used or not. Their logic and reasoning does not make sense when faced with questions because they just want to check you off their list and move onto the next paycheck. **Recommendations to others considering Trimble Unity Construct:** I think e-Builder needs to work on clear communication, professionalism, and updating their system so that all features work. **What problems is Trimble Unity Construct solving and how is that benefiting you?** The largest benefit to e-Builder is that it is a large system with many functions. However, this is offset by the fact that many of those functions are finicky and some don't work altogether. ### 4. The submittal module is easy to customize, and it is hard to manually override a mistake. You spend alot of time calling customer service, and even then it is rare that they can override their system. **What problems is Trimble Unity Construct solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are using ebuilder to send all of our documents to ownership. However, we are only using it for that. We do all of our real project coordination in Kahua. ### 7. Able to see upcoming meetings in the side bar. I like the tabs on the top of the main page allows for easy flow between the different types of project management, helps to keep things organized. Also like that a class is offered to help you become familiar with the program and helps you figure out how to use it. **What do you dislike about Trimble Unity Construct?** A bit complicated to use, there's a lot of tabs so finding a document is sometimes a hassle. Sometimes the projects are not updated fast enough, but that might be specific to the company we work with. **Recommendations to others considering Trimble Unity Construct:** It's good for use with construction contracts. Good with keeping costs, bidding, contacts, projects ans scheduling all in one convent location, helps things stay organized. **What problems is Trimble Unity Construct solving and how is that benefiting you?** Many contractors and managers for the project are throughout the region, so this makes it easy to organize and communicate with each member of the job. Allows for a single place to organize contracts, projects and cost management. ### 8. I've set this up as a template so that previously setup folder subscriptions based on their respective areas are automatically configured. Each individual receives a daily digest tailored to their area. **What do you dislike about Trimble Unity Construct?** Some interfaces such as modifying member permissions are not very intuitive. After you have modified permissions and saved you'd expect it to return to a main screen such as the menu showing all members. However it stays on the same screen for the individual you've just modified and saved. You then hit "cancel" or "X" to close the box. I'm accustomed to it now but in the beginning I had the impression that my modifications had not worked. **What problems is Trimble Unity Construct solving and how is that benefiting you?** The interface with our organization"s financial system is of huge benefit. Business Office personnel complete purchase orders or approve payments within their own software. e-Builder sends the transactions in and receives the resulting transaction number and result automatically. The last thing our Business Office wants to deal with is learning additional new software. ### 11. The cost module reports financial data in a format standard to the construction industry. There are multiple effective ways to import data to e-Builder (i.e. email, direct access, forms, etc.). Reports can be easily and quickly customized, deployed, subscribed to, etc. **What do you dislike about Trimble Unity Construct?** There's nothing I dislike about e-Builder. In fact, e-Builder is phenomenal at obtaining feedback and continually improving the product. **Recommendations to others considering Trimble Unity Construct:** e-Builder is the industry standard in cloud-based project management software. There isn't a better system or company. **What problems is Trimble Unity Construct solving and how is that benefiting you?** We deployed e-Builder to manage documents, business processes, and costs. We have standardized many business process, have an awesome audit trail the auditors love, pushed the work down to the lowest competent level, reduced the amount of project related email, and many other wonderful things. ### 14. Changing selections in drop down menus does nothing without an additional button click. **What problems is Trimble Unity Construct solving and how is that benefiting you?** Needed a central repository/format for project files.
