When using Manual Credit Card Payment Entry, the system automatically takes any discount indicated even if I'm paying after the due date and the discount is not valid. I moved to Spectrum from Timberline, and from an accounting point of view, the difference is leaps and bounds. There are certain things that are more constraining in Spectrum than in Timberline, but overall I would prefer a more rigid program that actually works like it's supposed to, as opposed to a program that frequently decides that it doesn't NEED to post things properly to the GL.
