They are much more than just a construction software company. They give so many helpful tips in every area of construction. They have so many resources to help you complete your job. So many of their employees have a thorough knowledge of how the construction industry operates.
They are so quick to respond when you have any kind of issue, whether its an error message or you don't know how to do something. They will call you and walk you through the process until you are satisfied with the solution. I've never been disappointed with their help!
They are open to suggestions for changes, which is important, as the ones using the software on a day-to-day basis are the best to offer suggestions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Recently, so much effort is in their cloud-based software, I wonder if we will ultimately have to all move to the cloud. Also, things tend be priced for large companies, that want all the bells and whistles. We are a smaller company and don't require all that they offer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love that Vista is a one stop shop. We do not need to have multiple different applications from many different companies. Most of the time Vista has software/modules that fit what we are needing and we are able to expand our package. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
My biggest issue the last several years has been the turn around time for Support Tickets. When I finally brought it up to the Manager of Support, she took the time to call me and personally went through all my issues, etc. I was really feeling good about it, until she dropped the ball and did not get back to me. When I followed up she had me confused with a different customer and then wanted me to let her know again what my issues were. It is useful for keeping track of safety violations on site. Much easier than doing it on the desktop version.

The ability to use each feature is based off our our IT staff transferring files over from the computer version. Also, the user interface could be improved upon. Spectrum Help is extremely consistent in its ability to assist and/or solve issues in it's function and/or operation. If the Help cannot assist then external assistance is available and responsive in a timely fashion. We like the ability to customize our financial reports (i.e. job costs) and other internal financial reporting. Change management and contracts is very basic and easy to create/maintain during the course of construction. We like the ability to share and/or customize our contacts, reporting features across our employees to ensure we have standardized report measures in place. I like to dashboard customization features offered which, as an operations manager, allow me the convenience of seeing all projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Reports under document control (i.e. RFI, Submittals, Change Management) are lacking and could be enhanced. Having the ability to customize and generate a company log makes report more professional. Uploading a budget through the csv import can be challenging at times and high level of error can occur if the importer makes a descriptive error or decimal place mistake. The fact I can get real time cost on projects and I can enter payroll on daily basis. The amount of information that I can pull from Spectrum is amazing. Being able to access the system regardless of where I am located is also a huge plus. BI is a huge help now over crystal reports, they are adding modules letting you get access quickly for ad hoc reporting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wish I could have the system pull Quarterly reports already of the approved from either the federal or state. The same goes for the certified reports, we have to retype all of the information on to the approved forms.
When specturm was bought out by view point there customer service response time has decreased. You spend a lot of time waiting on hold now, where you use to be able to get a person right away. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
